The most mediocre bacon blue cheese burger I ever pou in my mouth.
Bruce B.

I can't tell for sure where the food comes from that they serve here. Most likely Sysco, but it could be from USFoods. It's really hard to tell the difference.

Similar modern decor. Friendly cashiers and servers. Not much has changed inside since I came here in high school. Except they no longer offer the chicken salad sandwich. Today, I had the grilled chicken sandwich with caramelized onions, mozzarella, and bacon. This was decent! The side of sweet potato fries are excellent with the pesto mayo. Just trust me and try it!

Having not been to this restaurant for a very long time, we have it a try last evening and were pleased with the food. Orders are taken at the counter and then food is brought to the table by a staff member. I had the fish wrap which was crispy fish and cabbage wrapped in a tortilla. The spicy dressing really added to the flavors. My husband ordered the Strawberry salad but instead he was served the grilled salmon salad. He didn't return it because he really liked the flavors- nicely cooked salmon and mandarin oranges in greens. Galaxy Cafe has a full gluten free menu too! We'll be back!

A few things about this diner... Overall.. the food was good, even though one of my bacons was a little undercooked. We were basic in what we ordered, first time so we figure you cant mess up eggs and bacon and toast. The service wasnt.... Bad per sé, but they cant call themselves a diner when you order at the counter and then its brought out. It takes away from the diner experience and what if the service sucks? Do i ask for my tip back that you pre charged me? I ordered an a la cart pancake.. not bad, but, for 3$ for a 4 1/2 inch pancake, you can at least put a dab of butter on top and warm syrup... so not the case here. The food was good but absolutely overpriced.

Visited Galaxy Cafe last week for breakfast. It's a "order at the front then find a seat" establishment and they have a regular menu and gluten free menu. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with a side of potatoes and my boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich. We also split a carafe of mimosas.

We ate here yesterday for a late lunch and enjoyed it. We were able to walk up to the counter and order immediately without much of a wait, which was nice. They then brought the food out pretty quickly too, and everything was warm. I got the build your own burger and it was delicious! The fries were warm and very good as well. 5/5. My fiancé got the Brie burger and she enjoyed it, saying it was 4/5. Five stars though for good food & reasonable prices!

Great burger and fries with IPA. Typical eat breakfast there. It's all good. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Truly delicious!!!! Asian Seared Tuna Salad & Chardonnay

Needless to say I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed to hear that my ALL TIME FAVORITE SALAD MEAL ahi tuna salad was deleted from the menu that I was forced to pivot to this salad - ugh - I honestly tried to keep an open mind and I'm glad I did. It truly was delicious but it's not the same. I miss my GO TO SALAD! Damn it I'll miss my all time favorite salad. So sad.

Very small power bowl.

I like them okay. The food is decent and they are a bit more expensive however I do get them pretty regularly. That being said, the tiny portion I got yesterday on my power bowl has made me decide to start ordering elsewhere. I paid $16.99 for a very very small meal and ended up having to cook bc the portion was so small. It is time to move on from them.

Grilled Chicken Chipotle Wrap* with side (Sweet Potato Fries)

Wow wow wow wow wow. This place is outstanding!! First time I ordered I had breakfast, I got the Migas Breakfast and it was DEEELICIOUS, the migas were so perfectly done. They came with a side of refried beans and tortillas, although I don't think the tortillas were homemade. Didn't really eat the tortillas but I didn't really need them for my migas, and the migas were top tier. Only con is that I had added breakfast sausage to my Migas Breakfast for an extra charge and they didn't put my sausage with my food even though I was charged for it, DoorDash had to pick up their slack on this and thanks to DoorDash being so great, they more than made up for it. DoorDash shouldn't be having to make up for restaurants forgetting items paid for though, establishments need to do better on carefully reading and packaging orders. Food from here was outstanding though. I also got the kids breakfast with blueberry pancakes and skillet potatoes, the potatoes were so well seasoned and very good. Next time I ordered here it had just passed breakfast so I ordered lunch and dinner items. I got the Grilled Chicken Chipotle Wrap which was DELICIOUS. My side was sweet potato fries, the sweet potato fries I don't recommend unless you're dining in because they get cold very fast and just don't travel well. I also got the Grilled Chimichurri Steak Dinner with whipped sweet potatoes, which were so good and my steak was perfectly tender, very good steak. Only thing is it was more so medium rare than what I ordered which was medium, there was some blood on the container wrapper inside the box and the very center of the steak was pretty pink well red-ish, they needed to cook it just a tad more to not have the more red center and a more brownish pink than red. It's a super tender steak though no matter how it's cooked and very flavorful. I added the Pesto Pasta to the steak meal even though I already had the whipped sweet potatoes and both the sweet potatoes and Pesto Pasta were both good. It also came with a side salad. Now onto the best part even though all of it was yummy. The Chocolate Torte, oh my if this isn't the most delectable thing I have ever had. Do yourself a favor, if you order anything from here, make sure you at least get the Chocolate Torte, it is the best thing I have ever had. Photos don't do it justice. Even if you're not a big chocolate or sweets person, neither am I but this thing is DELICIOUS. Chocolate Torte is a hit and a must get

Outside there's a cute playground, gated, for the younger kiddos. Perfect for those who want to keep the kids occupied but also enjoy a snacky snack and a drink. There are plenty of gluten free options, and we ended up getting the Yardbird Chicken Sandwich on a gluten free bun, a complimentary Reuben sandwich on a gluten free bun, fish and chips, and a burger for the kiddo. All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

The concept has a lot of potential, but the menu feels like it's trying too hard and missing the mark. Also, please latch and secure the playground. A family-friendly restaurant should come with peace of mind, not an extra safety concern. I want local restaurants in this area to succeed, and I hope they find their stride. As of now, I'm missing NXNW in this space.

I highly recommend making a reservation--the only reason we got in was because another reservation for 10:00 didn't show and it was almost 20 past! The drinks were good and they have a pretty solid list of "experimentals" as well as some themed drinks for the bar. I had the Daisy and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. All in all, I think this place is great for a 1:1 or coming with a small group of 2-4 people. And our receipt came inside of a book, which added to the quirkiness of the place. Would definitely come back!

Brisket (benchmark item) is very good but short of great. I didn't care for their specialty, beef cheeks, but I think that cut of meat just doesn't appeal to me. Crust on these meats was impressive though; nice and peppery. Sides: Chori-papas were OK, but the pork hash & rice was simply not good. I've had plenty of real Cajun rice & gravy and it's fantastic. This was not even close. It was kind of vinegary and I wasn't really sure what it was supposed to be. Bread was mushy and "home made" tortillas were HEB bread aisle quality. BBQ sauces were quite good however. If you are looking for creative variations on BBQ, Leroy definitely has them, and they do have some good food and a bar. But non-Austinites beware, Austin has a uniquely masochistic boutique BBQ scene in which flogging the customer is very much part of the product. Good meat and bad sides seems to be a consistent theme. Inefficient serving arrangements create lines of customers which is an intentional marketing strategy because nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd. Woefully insufficient parking is also an added bonus. On top of all that, my "$25" two meat & two side plate w tea was $40 after the small-print up-charges for selecting brisket & beef cheek, and before optional tip. You are of course serving yourself. Refilling drinks is a PITA and cups are small. Bottom lines: There are ample options for equal or better BBQ elsewhere without the bougie BS hassle and for under $25 for a no-booze lunch. At my table of four, everyone was glad we made the trip to try it but no one was impressed with the food or the experience, and no one was interested in coming back. We also agreed that Lockhart is a better option for a BBQ pilgrimage.

I…read morefeel like the kind of people who are interested in a healthy bowl of nourishing food would be split not quite down the middle between both of these restaurants. Are they hoping the better-known Mediterranean bowl place will be so full they can catch their overflow? People in a rush might skip the line and try this less-known healthy bowl food restaurant instead? But I digress... I had tried CAVA four times or so and every time I saw MAD Greens and thought, Someday I'm going to try that place. Well, last Sunday was the day. I got to eat what I wanted because I was eating solo. I'm going all in on this trial run, I thought to myself, so I bought one salad for that day and ordered another to be my lunch the following day. I walked in and was the only customer in the restaurant. I was greeted warmly by the young man behind the counter, who called me queen and had no complaint about my asking for no tomatoes and the dressings on the side. I tried the Greek one and the sesame sriracha one. The place was clean enough and the employees seemed to be enjoying themselves, chatting and goofing off a reasonable amount. The bowls were great. I chose the Greek one first when I realized it had pita chips inside. It came with two dressings, the creamier of which was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Confession--I am a recovering picky eater and I hate cucumbers, but I love sneaking them into my body underneath delicious dressings and salty kalamatas. The second day I ate the sesame sriracha situation. It had tofu, which tbh I have never successfully eaten, and it was really good. It reminded me of the paneer in Indian food. That salad had edamame too, so I was definitely satiated and I'm guessing I got plenty of protein. Overall, I will definitely go back. CAVA has had some consistency problems for me, as well as some of my favorite offerings being limited-time or seasonal (isn't it the worst when restaurants lure you in with seasonal offerings you can't count on?!), so I'm glad to have had such a positive experience here and I'm hoping they will be consistently good.
