While there was a lot of information to absorb, Aris knew exactly when to repeat the most critical safety points in a way that never felt overwhelming or monotonous. After the class, we moved to the shooting range, where he guided us through range rules, etiquette, and practical application. I've attended several CCW qualification classes, and this was by far the worst experience I've had…read more Instead of focusing on CCW laws and proper instruction, a large portion of the class was spent listening to the instructor talk about his personal life--his first wife passing away in a ski accident, meeting his current wife on a dating site, her proposing to him, his mother's cancer, not being able to share a bathroom with his wife, her job at Cedars, becoming a police officer at 18 but not being able to buy his own firearm, being a Taekwondo champion who lost to an Olympic medalist, owning over 30 Glocks, and on and on. Roughly half the class time was spent listening to stories about how great he believes he is, rather than learning the laws surrounding concealed carry. We didn't even get a proper lunch break because so much time was wasted waiting for him to take cigarette breaks. The remaining time was spent being told there is only one correct way to hold a firearm--his way. If you didn't comply exactly, you risked being disqualified. He openly bragged about how many students he disqualifies each session. In my opinion, if a student is disqualified, it reflects a failure in instruction--especially when the issue isn't safety, but not conforming to the instructor's personal preference. He also went off on tangents about not feeling comfortable shopping or spending time in his own neighborhood in Sylmar, saying he prefers to shop in Santa Clarita because he believes his area isn't safe. On top of that, he aggressively pushed Glock firearms, claiming they are the only worthwhile option--conveniently mentioning that he also sells a Glock cleaning course. Overall, this class was a waste of time and money. If you want to actually learn CCW laws and receive professional instruction, save your money and find a real instructor--not someone more interested in talking about himself than teaching. I was schedule for a cleaning. Got there and Sean looked at my weapons and said these don't really need cleaning. They're just dry. He oiled them up, fixed a pin on my safety and sent me on my way. They wouldn't accept even the smallest gratuity. They could have charged me hundreds of dollars for cleanings but instead provided a free service and a smile. Truly great Americans. After deciding I wanted to get back into hunting after a short 50 year hiatus, I purchased a…read morebeautiful Sako 90 Hunter. During the online purchase process, Sako suggested a few FFL's, and Guns LA was one of them. I said yep, although I had never been here, and away we go. A few weeks later, I received an email notice that the rifle had arrived at Guns LA, and I drove over to go through the transfer drill. They buzzed me right in, I was greeted by a couple of the guys, and they handled everything right away. Typical easy California transfer: pages of paperwork, produce CDL, provide DNA sample, raise your right hand and swear you are not a communist or a Klingon, take a polygraph...the usual drill. Because they have a highly Yelp rated gunsmith, I handed them the Leopold scope and mounting rings I had purchased and asked them to mount it (yeah...as if I could have mounted it). No problemo. Ten long days later, I returned (and yes, the DROS paperwork stamps the exact minute from the ten days you started the process and you are damn RIGHT I was there at the exact minute to accept my rifle). They gave me a break on the price of mounting the scope since I did the transfer paperwork there, which was generous and unexpected. Everything was perfect. Although I live in Pasadena, and there are closer gun shops, I would absolutely go to these guys again. Thumbs up and thank you!

Deon helped me from the start and was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He never made me feel uncomfortable and took the time to explain everything clearly. Not only did he inspect and fix my firearm, but he also spent time teaching me how to properly use my Holosun sight and gave me helpful tips to improve my shooting. He even shared a flyer for private training lessons, which I really appreciated. Best of all, there was zero pressure to buy anything. He genuinely cared about helping me, not making a sale. When I returned to pick up my handgun, Deon and Mike explained that the previous dealer had actually left out some important parts, something they couldn't believe. Building custom guns is a pain in the ass. Ordering parts from suppliers takes forever, let alone making sure everything works together smoothly. Rarely do we see completely plug n play parts made particularly on custom builds. Thankfully, CJ, an honest man who's gone through hell and back trying to keep his clientele happy, made my life easy. We went through the build I was looking to build, recommended certain parts based on the purpose of what I wanted my custom build to do. I'll be back for another build. Custom work takes time and I had to learn that the hard way. Thanks CJ! If you're wondering if you should get your firearm worked on here, it's going to take time. I dropped off my fathers .22 rifle to be repaired on 04/16/22. Upon arrival CJ and what seemed like his mom were very friendly and welcoming. I asked for a receipt but he said his printer was "not working" that I would receive one with confirmation information via email for dropping off the rifle... never received one. I asked what the estimated repair time would be... he mentioned no more than a month... that he would call and update me on the status... a month when by... no updates... no calls... I than began to worry about the legitimacy of this business and now I am genuinely concerned I'll never see my fathers rifle again. I have called, emailed and visited the shop on many occasions with no response. I have filed a claim with the BBB against Worthy Armory.... I have called his property management company named Aszkenazy Development to inform them of the type of business he is operating... I have filed a report with the San Fernando Police Dept down the street... if I don't hear from Christopher Nicholas Lee ASAP I intend on hiring a private investigator to locate him and serve him to prosecute Worthy Armory to the fullest extent. However, my most recent visit has been frustrating. I dropped off a handgun at the end of November for three services and was quoted 6-8 weeks max. I had planned to attend a training in late February, so based on that timeline I expected to have my handgun back by the end of January. We are now approaching 15 weeks, and my firearm is still not ready. Can't even reschedule my class as the staff has been unable to give me a date each time I've called. I didn't want to leave a negative review because my previous experiences here have been great, but this delay is honestly unreasonable. If I would have known the turn around time I would have skipped on services. A friend of mine dropped off his handgun at a different shop for the same services and had it back within a month. I am paying full price for 2 of the 3 services so I might as well have just taken it to the other shop..
