We had a table with 5 adults and 4 kids. Service started off well, our waiter was Portuguese but from Angola, and was very happy and informative.
Ordering food was fun- he even said he would arrange to have the kids meals come before the adults so they could play outside on the beach and we could enjoy our meal.
In Portuguese restaurants bread and butter is ordered and paid for separately so we ordered 9 breads and 9 butters. Our bread arrived with 6 little packets of butter. We asked for the rest and they were eventually brought over.
The service changed after that. The adult meals arrived first. The kids meals came a few minutes later. The kids ordered spaghetti (all of them!) We asked for Parmesan cheese but it never arrived.
Food was okay albeit expensive, nothing to write home about. Service was non-existant after our mains arrived. We sat with dirty plates for a very long time.
We finally got a bill, over 200 Euros, which I have no problem paying. When I looked over the bill I noticed we have been charged for 14 butters, at 1 Euro each. I called the waiter over and asked if he could fix the bill as we had only eaten 9. The waiter told me that I was being aggressive and he did not like my tone! He said he would go and speak with the other staff to see if he could have them taken off. The waiter came back and said the staff said we are them and should be charged. I have never seen a customer spoken to like the waiter spoke to me.
There are too many other fantastic restaurants nearby to put up with this place.
