Gainesville Dermatology has been an amazing experience for me over the summer as I focus on my glow up. I have been here for a facial, extractions, and now masseter botox for my jaw clenching. Lauren, who really helped with some congestion I was experiencing along my jawline from hormonal acne was very thorough and detailed in her process. The hydrafacial I received in addition the extractions, have really been a game changer for me. Ashley, who prescribed me tretinoin which helps with fine lines, acne, and just overall boost in my skincare had great bedside service where I ended up scheduling my botox appointment for mt masseters. She gave me a run down and left the floor open for any questions. Honestly, the botox appointment was so fast I was very impressed. 2 weeks later, I have had very minimal clenching in my jaw and will definitely be back in Ashley's chair by the end of the year for my touch up. Businesslike, professional, thorough. I like Dr. Paula Beers. My visit was pretty routine, though there was one biopsy that checked out okay, and a couple of problems I hadn't known I had. Only thing that drops the review to 4 stars is that they submitted a prescription that my insurance classified as expensive, but I didn't know until I received the drug and the bill in the mail. There were lower priced options and as a retiree it would have made a difference if they'd check that first. I will definitely return here, but will be cautious about prescriptions in future. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]nurse practitioner had the nerve to probe about my mental health medication then accuse me of being a "picker" despite me repeatedly telling her the wounds on my face were from me tweezing my chin and eyebrows.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] mind you I'm a skincare professional and came to ask for lab work I can't order myself under my license. Not only did she gaslight me and tell me the only way to test my skin was a biopsy (5e swab test I wanted is listed on the CDC website, the state board of health website, and on Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics menus). she had the nerve to tell me I had what "looked like" a condition that would not have cause my symptoms and would have improved under the skincare regimen I have been practicing for 4 months. What she could have done was told me my mental health medications CAN lead to rashes and poor circulation, which may have been affecting the wounds ability to heal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What she could have done was let me finish so I could SHOW HER THE CDC WEBSITE and the skin swab I desperately wanted ordered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm absolutely disgusted by the arrogance and ego of this business, and the direct negligence when I specifically told the practitioner what I'd been doing and she acted like I was uneducated, and gave me a hypothetical diagnosis that would have improved from the red/blue light LED treatments and infrared treatments I was doing at home weekly. I'm not a picker, I'm SICK AND I NEEDED HELP. read more

Great experience! I got the Skin Pen treatment and it went smoothly. The check in process was easy and the staff were on time and professional. The patient room had Netflix so you can watch while getting a treatment. The treatment was painless and I loved the cooling mask they added at the end. I will definitely be back to try more treatments. read more

The office visit was fine and Drs were nice. It is their billing that is a nightmare. I received a $400 bill from what my insurance didn't cover. I made a payment every month. Their online payment system wouldn't let me pay $25 a month, only $100 for a $few hundred dollar balance. So I had to call each time to make a payment, which I did every month without fail. Then I get a yellow bill threatening to send me to a collection agency!!!! I don't appreciate this threat as I was making a minimum $25 payment every month. Their online system wouldn't even let me arrange a monthly payment under $100. I had to take the trouble to call every month. I was ready to finally pay the $50 balance, but the yellow threatening bill didn't have a bill code that you must have to pay it online. So now again I have to be inconvenienced & wait to call on Monday. I will never go back to this practice for their horrible billing management. I am so happy to pay the final $50 & not have to deal with them ever again! I never had so much trouble trying to make a monthly payment towards a medical bill. They come across as very greedy the way they treat their patients. read more

Because I am about that life more than I care to admit, I went in for a free consultation for CoolSculpting before I made a serious commitment and going into debt to go through with it. The consultation was sobering. I was vulnerable, and I believed I was ready for the quick fix. Instead of the technician capitalizing on my vulnerability she told me the truth; imagine that? It all boiled down to the no-nonsense kind-spoken consultant, Lauren, saying and I'm paraphrasing, "I understand why you are here today, and we are here to assist you the best way we can, but this is not an end all be all procedure. You will see results, but if you don't make the appropriate lifestyle changes I'm afraid you will be disappointed; it's your decision.This is how much it costs. We are running a 12 Days of Christmas deal which is a huge savings of about 40% and it has to be purchased by December 13th." Lauren is exceptional; not only is she extremely knowledgeable/thorough, but very pleasant to collaborate with, as she listens to your skincare goals, and creates a recommended treatment plan of action, in efforts to help you obtain your most optimal skin. It's been a little over a year since I have gone to see Jessika for services due to COVID but with being fully vaccinated I decided to go back for Microneedling. First...the office was very on top of keeping everything clean and sanitized. Each time you used a pen, they replaced it with a clean one. When someone was called for their appointment, they immediately sanitized the chair. Everyone wore masks and it was their policy that you wear a mask also. I trust Jessika and her work is always fabulous. She takes her time and makes sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. She also takes the time to explain in detail what is going to happen during the procedure and for the next few days after the procedure. I do have a little redness on my second day but it only looks like I got a little too much sun - perfect for the micro needling result. I am extremely happy with Jessika and refer my friends whenever they are looking for an aesthetician. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Canova for a 2-3 years now for skin checks as I have a lot of moles. She is very polite, kind, and professional and I appreciate the fact that she is down to earth and doesn't have "Dr. God" syndrome. Recently I began seeing Katie for electrolysis and laser hair removal. Katie is a pleasure to be around, is professional, friendly, and she does what is best for my needs, not what costs more. Whether I have an appointment with Dr. Canova or Katie, I never have to wait long. I won't go for medical treatments if the waiting room is stuffed with patients for the purpose of the business making more money while patients wait for extended periods of time. As a retired professional I always respected the time of others when they had appointments with me and I really appreciate the fact that they do the same here. read more

I had really wanted to try the dermalinfusion for sometime but honestly thought it was overpriced at 150+ for a 30 minute thing so I waited until there was a special in December. I don't recommend it at all. They make you sign a waiver that you understand you may breakout but it was unreal. As soon as I walked out the door I was breaking out and still am weeks later. I've had treatments before but they cleansed my face really well PRIOR to a treatment of this nature. Doing a dermalinfusion without cleansing well just rubbed the bacteria all over my face and straight into my pores. Don't have it done. Terrible outcome. read more

My husband came here for a skin rash and we were very happy with their service! Front staff was very friendly! Great atmosphere! He saw Gina Noble and she was very professional. With the advice and medication she had prescribed for his (then 3-week) skin rash, it went away. Went to see Miranda Whitmer for serious skin problems. What a MISTAKE!! She spent about 10 minutes with me, could not identify the lesion, did not offer to take a biopsy and ultimately told me I had "dry skin' and to see a 'psychiatrist" What kind of dermatologists treats a patient like that?? When I left the office, I saw her sitting with the other doctors chatting and laughing and having fun. Too bad she could not spend that time to help me resolve my skin issues. This is a woman who has a cushy job where there are never any serious emergencies. Thank goodness because she is not equipped to deal with anything besides chatting and having coffee with her friends. read more
