I came to see Sarah for Laser Tattoo Removal, and had a wonderful experience. The shop is really nice inside & spacious. There's a lot of intriguing art on the walls and the place is beautiful. There's a pretty large waiting area as well for people to wait with you while you get work done, and they even have a game and photobooth in the waiting room, too. Sarah was absolutely wonderful, and she's an Angel. I've had a massive Star tattoo on my chest for years, and she was so kind and caring during my session to remove it. I have chronic pain and nerve issues, and she was so understanding, sweet, and took her time to make sure I was comfortable. She really went out of her way to make sure I was in as little pain as possible, and I really appreciated that. I'm so thankful to find her - she's the best! I have been getting piercings before they were even a thing in the United States and I typically to go Anatomic & Pizzazz in Gainesville. I will patronize local businesses, even though I live an hour away. My first time I went to Bodytech I got Melissa who did a septum piercing for me even though my nose anatomy was a difficult one to do. She was awesome and her personality is fantastic. She also has a gentle touch and alleviates your stress and gives you her number to text her if you have any issues or questions post piercing. Melissa also did a nose piercing and my lower belly button piercing on another visit a couple of weeks later. Earlier this week I went in to have a dermal top changed and my nose ring changed. The piercer I got was Justin, and he was the anthesisis of Melissa, and if I would have gotten him my first time visiting Body Tech I would NEVER have gone back! He spent the entire time degrading my other piercings and telling me my nose was "jacked up" in addition to talking trash about the other local piercing shops, how they dont know what they are doing and how he wouldn't have done certain piercings I had. Unbeknowst to him, he was also trashing his co-piercer at Body Tech - Melissa who did my nose piercing that he had a hard time getting the new jewelry in. He was rough in the way he handled me. He had zero consideration for the discomfort he was causing me. I have never in decades of getting pierced had anyone so uncaring and with a total lack of gentleness. And I have been to piercing shops outside the U.S. and in various places in Florida. Maybe it was me he didn't like even though we had never met. I was never mean to him, in fact I mentioned his tan and he told me about fishing and we had a decent conversation about that. He felt the need to tell me how long he has been piercing in an effort to show me how awesome he THOUGHT he was. But what he did was the total opposite. If you have to trash talk another company or piercer to build yourself up, its disgusting, unprofessional and uncalled for. Pizzazz piercing and Anatomic know that I went to BodyTech and they never uttered one degrading word about them! I have owned my own business for 22 years and I dont have to talk badly about any other competitor. We all have to make a living and there is something called "class" that rises above all self-promoters. You cant fake class, and you cant buy compassion or a good reputation! The staff at Bodytech, besides Justin, are fantastic. They are super friendly, helpful and wonderful to me and my service dog. They have a good selection of jewelry and the their shop interior is absolutely beautiful! If it was not for them and Melissa I would never go there again. But I wont let one bad apple - Justin - stop me from going there....and neither should you. Just be careful who you book your piercings with! I highly recommend you schedule your piercing with Melissa and if it wasn't for Justin, I would have given the shop 5 stars! read more

I didn't personally get pierced but my girlfriend did. No experience with tattoo artists, only with piercings. Location is very close to uf campus only being a couple blocks over on west university. Area itself is a little sketchy, especially in the dark. After quoting multiple places I ended up going here as they had the best deal i could find and seemed very professional. I was able to do a walk in too. The inside is very clean/ neat and youre immediately offered masks and sanitizer if needed. The people behind the counter are very attentive, helpful, and friendly! One thing i didn't like was that the establishment is cash only, especially in the covid pandemic at the time of writing this. The in house ATM has a $3 fee plus whatever your bank charges, so be wary when using it. When it came to the piercing, the artist was very very very friendly and talked through everything, obviously to distract from the pain. She wore gloves and mask and used new equipment, which is obviously standard and great to see. She definitely knew what she was doing and the ear piercing apparently felt like nothing. She also changed a nose piercing and stretched it very efficiently. Experienced artists for sure! I recommend this place to anyone in search of a place for piercings, as they have the best prices of anywhere close to UF i could find. Judging by my experience, i'm willing to bet the tattooing experience is no different and just as professional and easy. They also give you a number you can call should any problems arise, and luckily haven't had to call it yet! read more

This is where I got my nose pierced after I left home for college, so it was the first thing I did to rebel against my parents and still one of the best decisions. I'm not sure how, but after 6 years, my nose hole still exists and I'm bad about keeping a piercing in. I have 7 piercings and planning on getting a bunch more, so when I'm in Gainesville visiting friends and family, will probably pop in to get another. I never had an issue with sanitary conditions and felt the whole place was clean including sterilizing their needles. When I had my nose pierced with a needle, it wasn't painful, but my eyes did water. I do have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I bought their sea salt solution to keep it clean. Also, I really looove sleeve tattoos. I'm a tattoo person because I really love the artwork. This location is just too far for me to return to get a phoenix tat, but I'd return for tat sessions if it was closer! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Super cheap but piercings aren't supposed to be that way. I wanted my third lobe pierced on each ear and they used earring with butterfly backing with a piercing gun! For those that don't know, butterfly backing is the worst because it doesn't allow enough space for the ear to swell and causes thee earring to get stuck in the ear. I literally had to push the earring out and tear my flesh, then go to a different piercer for proper jewelry. I'm super angry, especially because I asked if they used a hollow needle and I was told yes. The whole process of getting the piercing is super rushed and I'm ashamed I trusted Justin. They barely took the time to measure my ear and didn't explain the process or show me the tools. One of my piercings is more off centered than the other now. Please do NOT go here. So many other places that actually walk you through it, sell quality jewelry that is meant for piercings and take their time with you. read more

Went to Bodytech for my third tattoo after a friend had gotten some really great tattoos and recommended the place to me. My artist was extremely negative from the start, I did not feel supported and his attitude was condescending; it seemed like he didn't even want to do it. As an artist, I plan to design all of my own tattoos and I spent MONTHS planning and sketching exactly what I wanted my tattoo to look like; mind you it was a pretty simple tattoo only consisting of lines, it's also pretty small so I thought it would be a layup for him. He clearly thought I wouldn't notice the horrific job he did. The lines are beyond shaky and the finished product looked NOTHING like my original sketch and the stencil he put on me. Now I am stuck with something I hate that I will have to spend even more money on to get removed. read more

I came here for my first ever tattoo in June of last year. Kyle was available to do it and I was excited because I'd seen his portfolio and my tattoo was super simple so I figured it would be a piece of cake for this guy. He was really rude and condescending to me but I didn't care as long as the tattoo turned out good. I guess he just didn't care and figured that I was a stupid 18 year old girl and wouldn't notice, but he whipped it out in 15 minutes and as soon as I took the bandage off I knew it was bad. The lines looked like they'd been done in ballpoint pen, the shading was super patchy, the snake's eyes weren't parallel, the curves of its body didn't make sense, etc. I then waited for it to heal and followed the instructions to a tee and it still looked awful. I'm going to anthem to get it fixed so my advice is to save yourself the second trip and avoid this place altogether. read more

They let her get TWO at the same time They let her get two RINGS And they told her to use WITCH HAZEL when she went back two months later with an infection She's had the piercings for a year, and despite taking care of it very closely, it still always has bumps and oozes. read more

Got my nose pierced as part of the Friday the 13th special. Justin was fast, which was good, but was obviously too hurried to answer questions and brushed me off. He was nice, otherwise. Most of staff seemed rude on the phone the day before and while I was waiting the 3 hours in the shop. The girl with her head shaved was the nicest one and answered some questions for me. I've always gone somewhere else for tattoos and piercings but this place was the only one doing piercing specials that day. The aftercare instruction sheet given is severely lacking. Ended up getting advice from a doctor. I wouldn't have paid more than $20, in other words. So it was worth the $13 special. read more

I will not lie the only reason this place is not getting a five star review is because I checked my tattoo as soon as I got home. The entire environment of the shop was so professional I was highly impressed. This is the most professional place I've been to in my three years of getting tattoos. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about everything offered at the shop. My girlfriend was there getting a septum piercing and they were able to help her sooooo much. I was just taken aback by their knowledge. I decided to get a tattoo I had been thinking of for a few months and was very excited when I went back into the tattoo area. The entire environment was more than well lit and sterile. My artist asked me how I wanted my tattoo to look and I put the image against where I wanted it and how I wanted to look. She acknowledged it and proceeded to put the stencil on. I didn't look too hard when she put the stencil on and started working because I had just shown her how I wanted it. Less than an hour later it's all done and I'm back home. I look at the picture my girlfriend took and I had to do a double take. I peeled the bandage off and my heart sunk, the tattoo was mirrored of how it was supposed to be. There's virtually nothing I can do about it so this is a warning for anyone getting a tattoo. Trust but verify the stencil before thy get to work. It will save you from the disappointment and anger I went through. read more

Came in for lobe piercings, should have turned around and left after seeing the complete disinterest of piercer who did not even talk to me beforehand. Got me in the room and before I had a chance to do anything had already popped a piercing in using a GUN. No cleaning beforehand, piercer did not even wear gloves or wash his hands. Subpar place that puts no effort into safety or cleanliness. Piercings aren't even, very little choice in jewelry. I do not recommend. They do not care about you or your safety at all.
