Pure Aesthetics is the best hidden gem of Gainesville. I spent the last decade moving around and…read moretraveling throughout the nation and have had aesthetic treatments at so many med spas and salons that I have lost count. Pure Aesthetics is hands down one of the highest quality experiences you will ever receive. From the moment you walk in the door, there are multiple receptionists who began greeting me by name on only my second visit. The atmosphere immediately calms you when you walk into the lobby, you will feel like you are about to have a massage! They always offer water, champagne, or a collagen drink (even if you are running late to your appointment, like I have unfortunately done more than once!) I can only speak to the services of Kelsey (electrolysis) and Lindsey (Coolsculpting Elite) from personal experience, but I am fully confident in saying that my experience every single appointment over the past few months is indicative of the entire staff. I cannot exclaim my praise for either of these women loudly enough. No matter what area of the body you would like to learn more about treatment for, everyone at Pure Aesthetics has an in-depth knowledge of the services offered and will never pressure you into booking a treatment or purchasing a product whatsoever. I was especially impressed to learn that all staff members that offer treatments must work the front desk for a period of time to learn how the office (and schedule) operates and to interact with the clients. I think this is the greatest idea from a Human Resources perspective (which I happen to have my Bachelor's degree in ) and ensures that any information given over the phone is well-informed, and not simply a reiteration of the menu of services offered which you can read for yourself online. If you are seeking a treatment of an area but are not quite sure if you'd like to go the surgical route, the building is shared with Gaines Plastic Surgery. I cannot personally attest to Dr. Gaines, as I have not had any surgeries at this location, but this is truly an incredible partnership that allows clients to pursue all their aesthetic or cosmetic procedures in one place, with staff they are already comfortable with greeting them and offering a plethora of experience, knowledge, and services along the way. Lastly, I feel it would be remiss not to mention the personal touch and genuine care that the staff has for each and every client. A few months ago, I had a personal emergency which left me without my cell phone, and I ended up "no-call, no-show-ing" two appointments in a row. Instead of blocking me from scheduling further appointments, both Kelsey and Lindsey showed immediate, unwavering care and concern and welcomed me back to my appointments as soon as I was able to make contact again. Of course, I hope such an incident never happens to anyone else, but many Med Spas that I know of would enforce a strict cancellation policy with no questions asked, but not here. When I come here, I know that I'm not only trusting my body with experts and professionals at their specialties, but trusting my overall wellbeing to a team that genuinely wants to see everyone look, feel, and achieve their best. I recommend anyone who is even considering a treatment at Pure Aesthetics to visit the website and at a minimum, get on the email list, as there is a new special each month, and the treatment you're eyeing might be next on the list for a discount! Special or not, my experiences here have been worth every penny!

I had a very frustrating and confusing experience with pricing and package details at this med spa…read more On January 12th, I paid $198 for a single session. At that time, I was offered a package of four sessions for $799, but declined since I had an upcoming surgery. On February 18th, I returned and asked to purchase that same package I had been offered on January 12th. I was told it was no longer available, so I declined and got up to leave. At that point, the staff member changed her position and said I could have the four-session package for $799. When I noticed the paperwork reflected only three sessions, I questioned it and was told the three sessions would begin on my next visit in March. I returned in March and again on April 16th, at which point I was told that visit was my final session. When I questioned this, they acknowledged that I had purchased four sessions, counted my January 12th visit toward that total, and stated they had no record of me paying for that visit. When I pointed out that I had in fact paid $198 on January 12th and offered proof, the explanation changed again and I was told I had only purchased three sessions for $799. The inconsistency and changing explanations were extremely frustrating. At this point, I would consider going somewhere else. They clearly are not an honorable establishment.

The front desk girl came off condescending and snooty and for that reason I did not discuss the issue further. I just wanted to get out of the uncomfortable environment. Now, I have to deal with payment reimbursement, because she could not do it. Please, see attached text image of appointment confirmation as proof. I would have been more accepting of the cancelation and gladly rescheduled, because it was an excellent promotion, had the front desk girl practiced better customer service.

I would recommend GMOS to anyone, and everyone. Dr. Cindi Larimer, and her staff, are just a…read morepleasure to meet with and the results that I have had with them are simply amazing. Like a lot of you, I have tried almost every diet there is: Atkins, South Beach, NutriSystem, WW, some very strange ones, and even a number of the other clinics listed on Yelp. As a stubborn male, I was somewhat hesitant to admit that I was severely overweight: let's face it, at 280 pounds, I was morbidly obese. I had been putting off hip surgery for two years because I needed to lose weight to have the surgery --- and I could not lose weight, no matter what I tried! Finally, I went to my family doctor and admitted that I needed help, that I needed a referral to a weight-loss clinic or a nutritionist. I think that's what he had been waiting for; my willingness to admit that I had a weight problem. He immediately sent me to GMOS and Dr. Larimer. I am so glad that he did. Everything else that I had tried had seemed to be a little bit like psuedo-science; they had the miracle cure, quick results guaranteed, and a lot of talk to convince you that they, as opposed to everyone else, were not a con just out to take your money. Dr. Larimer was different, and surprisingly so to me. First, she was an actual medical doctor with many years of practice and experience. Second she is the only Board Certified Obesity Specialist in Florida. Third, she explained the recognized science behind her program: as a scientist myself, I could understand and follow the logic and rationale of her program and appreciated dealing with facts, not platitudes. Fourth, she did not promise any miracles, and even explained why some people simply can not lose weight, especially if they had tried off-and-on dieting many times over the years. Her dedication to the science of obesity and weight loss is what really impressed me. She was not interested in signing me up just to get my money --- she wanted me as a patient only if she thought that I might benefit from her program. She is first and foremost, a doctor: given my age, she had one of her staff administer an EKG, and then she verified that I had no abnormal heartbeat, before she would agree to accept me into her program. And I have benefited from her program. I have now lost 80 pounds and I am well on my weigh (pun intended) to meeting my weight goal. I feel better, I look better, and I am much more active, even with a bad hip. The only downside is that I have gotten rid of almost all of my old clothes in the closet and have had to go out and shop for new clothes (which can be "sort of fun" if it means getting smaller and smaller sizes over time). However, the most important point that I have learned from her is that I am going to have to be aware of my eating habits, and the trade-offs that can be made, for the rest of my life. If, once I reach my goal, I simply return to my old eating/drinking habits, and consume large amounts of sugar/alcohol/carbs, it would not be too long before I was once again up to 280.
