Showed him all the equipment and explained everything. He did end up needing glasses but between Dr Murphy and the optical staff, he's excited to wear the glasses. Great Doctor and Optical staff. Dr Murphy just examined my eyes which have been feeling off 6 months after cataract surgery. She was able to reassure me that her findings of teeny floaters would not be a problem. She educated me about every part of the exam and is very easy to talk to. Terrific experience. read more

She's very good. I never feel rushed when she asks "which one is better, this one or this one?" when looking at the letters. Answers my questions. Takes her time explaining what exactly I'm looking at regarding pictures taken of the inside of my eyes. I feel confident leaving her office. Her competence, character, and kindness combined with the quality of her staff made for a winning optical and personal experience. All I can say is Gail Murphy is the real deal. I have been wearing contacts or glasses since I was in Elementary School so I have spent many years in eye doctors offices. NEVER have I had such a thorough exam. She was professional and asked many detailed questions. I have a rather high prescription so she recommended a custom exam for a special fitting for my contact lenses. OMG! This woman has changed my life. I am at the age where I need reading glasses but wear contact. Do you see my dilemma? She did a custom exam that was a little more but worth every dime. I could not believe it. I don't even have to consider Lasik surgery now. The readers are in the trash! She is truly a master at her craft. She has a patient for life! This truly was a great experience. read more

I used to see Dr. Murphy at her other location (Sears), but now she is at MONROVIA OPTOMETRY. She has always been very professional, courteous, timely and thorough - which is why I keep going to her. I am impressed with her eye exams and how she makes sure I can see at various distances since I work on computers, read patient charts, read my phone and then correction for distance. I am very thankful for the extra time she takes. She even noted things on my eye exam that others failed to see or mention. She is now over at Monrovia and WOW! What a fantastic office. The staff are very professional, courteous and they said they take a long list of insurance plans - and, obviously, mine! There is a neat piece of equipment -- and NO EYE DILATION--- that took some amazing looking pictures of the back of my eyes. Didn't you ever wonder what it looks like back there? They have a nice selection of frames. Dr. Murphy also fits people for contacts, but I don't use them so can't speak to that. You won't be disappointed! read more

I just had an eye exam with Dr Murphy at Sears Optical. She was extremely patient going forwards and backwards with the lens adjusting. She was right on time and extremely nice. I will definitely use her as my only optician in the future. read more
