I don't often write reviews, but this business deserves the best. I dropped my iPad 2 on the volume button and dented the casing as well. It didn't crack the glass, but the volume control wasn't working, and the volume icon was stuck in the middle of the screen. iRescue911 was recommended to me by a Verizon representative and I figured it was worth a trip to see if it could be fixed as the iPad was working with the exception of the sound. I was informed that it would be a tricky job (easier if the glass had cracked) and that he thought it would cost $125 to $150 to repair it because it was going to be labor intensive. He then asked if I had considered selling it because it was an older generation iPad with 3G and he thought it would sell for approximately $200 or more. He was more than willing to attempt the repair, but wanted to be as honest with me as he could. I decided to take a chance on the repair and told them to keep it until after the July 4th weekend. Several hours later I received a call informing me the repair was complete and it was working like a brand new iPad. I cannot say enough good things about iRescue911. They repair phones, tablets, computers, etc. I plan to deal with this company for all of my personal and business phone/computer needs. Highly recommend this place for any phone problems. Brian knows his stuff and will get you taken care of. I don't normally write reviews, but feel the need to after the level of generosity and integrity I have experienced at GadgetBar. I have taken my phone in for some of the most minor repairs and been charged a fortune.. So I decided to try to fix it myself this time around. After messing up my install Brian took a look at it to find that I had just forgotten to snap on one clip at the very end of the install. Even though he had 6 jobs before me he still got back to me within 2 hours (unlike Apple which has taken me days). He could have charged me a lot of money for getting my phone working, but he told me how it barely took him any time and gave me my fixed phone back free of charge! I offered money, but he refused to take anything since he "only had to work on my phone for a few minutes and didn't have to put in new parts". Not to mention my previous repairman even lost a bracket (which I noticed during my attempted repair) and Brian had an extra one in stock so decided to put that back in there just to help me out, free of charge as well. I found iRescue 911 while looking for a place to repair my iPhone 4S. I thought about trying to fix the lock/power button myself but Brian quoted me a price cheaper than what it would cost me to buy the materials - not to mention the headache he saved me from having while trying to replace the power sensor cable. The service was fast too! I dropped my phone off around 4:30, fully expecting it to be an overnight, possibly even multi-day event, and Brian said I could pick it up in about an hour! Nearly every other place I found wanted 3-4 hours at least, if not holding on to the device over night. With the deal I purchased from Yelp ($10 for $25 credit) iRescue 911 restored my ~2 year old 4S to a like new phone and all I was out was $25 total. With a 90 day warranty on the labor! After breaking free from cellular contracts and jumping on the pre-paid (read: unlocked, full price for phones) bandwagon I definitely plan to come back to repair phones instead of buying new devices. read more

I called GadgetBar in mid October when my son's mini Segway/hoverboard was not working properly. I had purchased it from Amazon and the chinese manufacturer was not helpful in facilitating a return. Brian at GadgetBar told me he would do some research to see if he could help with the problem. He called me back the next day and I was amazed at the amount of research he did to see where he could purchase parts, etc. I was very impressed with his customer service and how upfront he was on whether he may be able to fix the Segway. Needless to say, Brian went above and beyond to find the appropriate parts for my son's mini Segway and he fixed it!!! my iPad face planted and the screen shattered along with the bezel frame cracking. Probably as bad as you can get as far as damaged, but still working. The staff was honest and told me due to the frame being damaged, it's possible they could not repair it. The next day I get a call and it's ready to go. I was hesitant that it would not be the same after the repair, however it's working perfectly. Great quality work, honest up front staff, and they work fast. Taking my other iPad in that has a small crack in the screen. I'm happy to report the repairs are good quality and I have had no issues what so ever (no loose glass in frame or spaces, tight seal, perfectly accurate and responsive touch). I highly recommend taking your devices here. They do work on any electronics so you know these guys can "fix/repair" your devices and they are not just buying kits and you tubing the repair for you. read more

Brilliant! Everyone there is so genius! I've brought in a variety of damaged products including iPads, android tablets and phones. This past visit Adam totally helped me out. He is very knowledgeable and navigated all my devices with ease. He always has the customers best interest as his priority. He knows it's important to give you accurate information and practical timelines but still works so hard to get your repair back to you in the most timely fashion. He has left notes for the mailman and FedEx delivery people asking them to leave my replacement parts at his door if it's before or after business hours. I called the GadgetBar to see about repairing an old HP Pavilion PC that suddenly wouldn't boot up. This is my wife's laptop that she uses for work. It has files on the hard disk that she needs for her job. Brian candidly told me that he was short on people at the moment and would not be able to fixing the PC quickly - he didn't have a tech he could assign to it. He gave me suggestions on how to check various items, including telling me how I could get a SATA laptop hard disk drive enclosure from Best Buy to pull the data off the hard drive. Brian spent a lot of time on the phone with me, and selflessly gave me the answer that allowed me to get the data off the hard drive, even though he didn't get anything out of it. Have a broken laptop, computer or phone? You NEED to read this! Brian at GadgetBar provided exceptional service and communication in repairing my elderly mother's laptop. I live out of state, so searched for a repair option online in the Barrington area and am SO happy I found GadgetBar. I left a message through the website during their closed hours, yet received a call in a very timely manner. Brian kept me updated through-out with texts and went above and beyond to repair my mom's laptop. At almost 90, she wasn't up for a new laptop, and she absolutely didn't need one once Brian took over. These guys are honest and up-front. I spoke with Taylor about getting my charger port replaced on my Nokia Lumia 810. Shortly after dropping off my phone, I received a call from them, informing me that replacing the charger port could potentially damage the sensitive microphone on the PCB. Instead of leaving me high and dry, they offered 2 alternative, cost-effective solutions that were even better than replacing the charger port outright. They suggested: 1) since the device was QI enabled, I could use wireless charging technology, or 2) I could use an external battery charger to charge the battery overnight. Both of which are feasible and something I hadn't even thought of. These guys are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and know their stuff. I have an older iMac which needed more RAM since it was very slow. I checked Yelp and saw the great reviews for this business. After speaking to Taylor on the phone, I brought it to the shop. This business is definitely customer oriented. They installed the RAM I needed for a very reasonable price, while I waited. The shop is a very comfortable and attractive place to wait. They have thought of all the things which makes it a pleasure to be there: comfy chairs, an unobtrusive TV, cell phone accessories for sale, up-to-date magazines, carpet on the floor and even a full bowl of candy on the counter. As well, the owners are fun to talk to and are very knowledgeable. Best of all, my Mac is whizzing along now. FYI - a new shop has opened in the area, and is using a similar name. This is a great place. I came in first time to fix a broken screen on my daughters iPhone. The owner gave me a very reasonable price and the problem was fixed in less than an hour. Second time I can with a need to replace a broken port in my phone. Again service was great and the problem was fixed right on the spot. Recently I needed to change a battery in the old iPhone. I had the battery thought that could do it myself. Ordered parts online. As expected it came in with the wrong screwdriver, thus making it impossible to do it myself. I had to use this place again. The owner took care of the battery at no cost. He didn't have to it for free. When I asked him why, he said he values loyal costumers. That's what I call a great costumer service. Had an issue with the volume on my phone, seemed the ear speaker was failing. I tried a few places and they didn't seem to know what they were doing and I eventually got a recommendation for Gadget Bar. I called and the person I talked to seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. I brought the phone in and he quickly determined that while not visible with the naked eye, under magnification something had gotten into the mesh covering the speaker. He tool a very small tool and punched all of the holes out and then vacuumed it out and it's as good as new. A couple bucks for labor, much cheaper than what others were guessing. Highly recommend this establishment, not only for cell phone repair but anything electronic, I'm confident you won't be disappointed. read more

My Samsung Note 2 took a dip in some water while I was fishing. Did a quick google search and found these guys. Let me just say, their customer service is outstanding! Brian, contacted me with an update, and told me about the possible problems with my phone after they did a thorough cleaning. The guy knows what he's talking about, and I could tell that he really enjoys what he does. He showed me some photographs he took of where he thinks the problem was. (The photographs were crazy detailed and zoomed in!). Unfortunately, he was unable to get my phone working. That would not stop me from returning to them for business. My battery life has been horrible in my iphone5 and the top power button stopped working so I decided to remedy both at the same time. After searching google for phone repair shops near Palatine where I work I settled on iRescue after calling a few places and getting the best price and a promise that the work would get done promtly on the same day that I brought the phone in. They explained that replacing the power button is very intensive since they have to take the phone apart completely to get to that part. Both promised were upheld by them and the work was done in one afternoon. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to use this shop and have already told my sister to go to them when she decides to replace her cracked iphone4 screen. read more

Great experience here today. Had a cracked iphone screen and called a bunch of places searching for the best deal. This was one of the only places who quoted a fair price over the phone and there was a great coupon on Yelp for them. Took my phone in and got it fixed within hours. Looks and operates perfect. They are the real deal - they will put your phone back together better than when they took it in. There are lots of hack jobs out there so be careful. In calling around I noticed this place 911 Tech Repair in Arlington Heights. Sorta the same name but when I called they were very shady. I am from Minnesota and my Samsung charging port broke. The carrier for my phone refused to fix the issue, so I did some googling and found these guys! I e-mailed to find out some information, especially for mailing my phone, and they responded within the hour! The next day I shipped off my phone and 3 days later they e-mail me back saying it was fixed! Within 6 days I sent my phone there, had it fixed and had it back working perfectly! Highly recommended. I spent a total of $15 for shipping and a box/bubble wrap and $60 for the repair. I will be recommending their service since it was so much cheaper to send it to them versus drive to the closest place that might be able to fix it. Good job guys!! read more

They are fantastic!!! They fixed an iphone screen last year and did a great job. Last week I took a very old computer that I have not used in 8 years. I wanted to recover all pictures and data from it. I was not sure if it was possible. I did not even remembered the password for that computer. iRescue911 were able to recover all files. They were very nice and the price was very cheap compared to other places I used before. I recommend this place to everybody that needs help with computers and cellular phone. If you 'eff up your mobile phone, iPad or laptop, you can't do better than these guys. If you broke your screen and really need it in a hurry, they can do that. If you did something more complex and/or don't really need it that fast, they'll do their best for you in that case too. Either way, you'll get the work done knowledgeably and carefully with high-quality parts (not everybody provides this) and for much, much less money than you'd drop at the Apple Store. They are honest, communicate clearly and leave the choices to you. You can't do much better than that. (Trust me, I've found much worse.) read more

I'm not much of a "chat with strangers" person, but Brian is great. Stayed an extra 20 minutes after he fixed my phone screen just to shoot the shit. First thing I loved? Walked in the door and saw the grinning face of a friendly, well behaved, handsome Pit Bull. Corralled behind the front desk, for those of you cat people. Anyway, Brian fixed my super cracked iPhone 6 screen in under an hour and it both looks and functions beautifully.
