I recently dropped my iPhone which caused the glass to crack, but the phone still worked flawlessly, all the typing, swiping and zooming features were fine. I decided to have the glass replaced since it was only a year old and with very little down time it appeared to be as good as new. But right out the door it seemed to have a slight "rose" shade and when compared to my wife's exact phone there in fact was a slight "rose" tint. But hey, whatever... the phone was fixed. But that night, once I started using the phone in the normal manner that I do it started acting up, as if there were multiple fingers on the screen. It would jump up and down with just a down single finger command. Swiping left and right it would at times just not do it. When trying to close the open apps the boxes would go down when I was commanding them to go up. While trying to type the the letter "A" would not type. When making a phone call the number "1" would give me "11". And when using any of my map apps the map would jump all over and zoom out, when again I was only using on finger. So I gave them a call and they told me to bring it in. Of course when I get there the phone decided to not act up as bad, but non the less it did. They told me to restore it from my back up. They could have told me this when we spoke on the phone the first time. So, I go back home to follow their suggestion, but the problem is still there. Back in the car and back down Richmond to show them the problem is still there. After they worked with the phone they did in fact see it acting in the manner I was describing. They are still telling me it has to do with a "software glitch" and that they going to erase everything from the phone and restore the iOS on their end. I get the phone back after waiting and the phone again seems to be working properly, but at this point all I wanted was to get out of the waiting area. I get home and reinstall everything back on to the phone only to have the same issues again. I asked them, how is it that this phone is having problems since the new glass has been installed? If I am having problems with typing and swiping with the new glass, isn't the problem with the glass? They again said it was a "software glitch" and "the phone is sensing the new hardware". Regarding the "software glitch", my wife's phone and our iPad are both backed up to the same iTunes account and laptop, they are both on the iOS 7 and neither one has these problems. I don't enjoy wasting time with these kinds of issues. I don't like to assume but I am not sure if they are using Apple iPhone glass, between the slight "rose" tint and non commanded actions of the phone I am left with only this to believe. Maybe I have slightly defective Apple iPhone glass, but we'll never know since they never offered to simply swap it out. $99 well spent now that I am going to need a new phone after all. Hopefully it will just be a wash with the trade-in program. For the record I read an article from earlier this month that addresses the new iOS "glitches" and non of this phone's problems are listed in "45 Problems With iOS 7.1, and How to Fix Them".

I stopped by to have Fernando take a look at my phone. It was working perfectly until suddenly I received a static screen. I did some research online and had my diagnose but wanted someone else to take a look at it. He opened up my phone (I guess this is what makes him a phone surgeon) and says that it's my phone screen and it needs to be replaced which will cost me about $110. This was way more than I was planning to spend and was not the diagnose I was expecting. Keep in mind, my phone worked perfectly fine until the static screen popped up. There are no cracks or scratches on my phone. Not agreeing with Fernando, I took the phone to another shop and only had to pay $59 for my repair. I had to get my usb flex cable change. This was almost half of what Fernando quoted me. Maybe Fernando honestly did not know what the issue was, and was just taking a guess. Maybe he saw me as someone he could make easy cash from. Make sure you do your research before you get anything fixed so people don't take advantage of you. I felt I would have been taken advantage of if I didn't know any better.

He opens the iPhone and then realizes he does not have the appropriate battery. Asks me to come back at a specific time and he's not there. After that I come back for the 3rd time and he's off to lunch. Finally the fourth time (I called before going over) and he opens the iPhone to realize he does was given the incorrect battery. At that point I went elsewhere - where they did it right and that too the first time. Went back to change phone service - told me he's done it before (which I should have realized meant that he'd considered it before) but had no idea what he was doing. I finally got the service provider to help resolve the issue (with no help from this guy - he wouldn't even call to make sure the issue was resolved). On the last time I called there he hung up and refused to pick up when I called. This guy has no idea what he's doing and I would recommend staying away. He is learning the business ..... and that too ... slowly ... very slowly.

When I contacted Stargel to schedule the Periodic Maintenance on our 1-year old allegedly refurbished (by them) copier/scanner/printer, they quoted nearly $4,000, which is only $1500-$1800 less than the actual purchase price of 1 year ago. Really? Isn't that like the Dodge dealership saying the periodic maintenance on my truck is 75% of the purchase price, because the engine and transmission have to be replaced after a year? Makes no sense. We had been assured prior to purchase that all moving parts had been replaced and that the machine would work like new. It begs the questions: what kind of shoddy parts did they use in the rebuild that all of the parts have to be replaced after only a year of use by a small company? Or was the rebuild not done as advertised? When we upgraded/updated to this copier/scanner/printer last year, we gathered quotes and ultimately narrowed them all down to two. Our final decision hinged on what we thought was a strong, established relationship of 10+ years with Stargel. To our regret, we chose their quote above their competitor's. During this experience, we also learned one of their best techs has left Stargel after many years with the company. Could this be another warning sign of a disintegrating corporate attitude both within the company and without? In short, it seems that if you do not want or are not able to pay their exorbitant monthly maintenance contract, their response is simple - pay for the machine all over again less a small percentage when maintenance is all that is actually needed, not a full rebuild. Apparently, in their minds, customer loyalty goes one way - from the customer to them, and there better be plenty of customer $$$ to go with it.
