I'm new here in east bay i didn't know any place that has good cakes. so i yelped places and see which one has good reviews, and cake that look nice for picture as well. i really have high expectation to her because of the reviews and pics. and they all look nice on yelp. so u know what i give her a shot. but it was a mistake my daughter's cake is not that good. the top cake is dry. the cake has no design just plain pink. i mean really? i gave her a pic at least make it look the same or similar to it. specially i spend $300 for this cake. I wouldn't come back here. i learned my lesson. Foodco cake is waaaaay better. good thing i asked for my bf sister to bring some cake just incase no one would like the cake. its just a disappointment. no design no windows cake look so dead i wished i paid card so i can just dispute what i paid. GOOD THING MY DAUGHTER DESSERT TABLE IS PERFECT! You judge tell me if im wrong!

The cake looked beautiful and was exactly how I wanted it to look. She made a 3 tier cake for my daughters 1st b day The fondant was very thick and chewy. There was a smash cake that also was covered in fondant and it was too hard so my daughter couldn't smash it. Just dented it. So that was a bit disappointing. Overall very nice just not a fan of the thick fondant.

Yes, everything was edible. Even the bikini! This cake was the bomb!

I have used Gaby for a few special cakes. Not only do they look amazing but the taste is fantastic. Many fondant cakes just do not taste good. Not only is the cake amazing but the fondant is delicious. I have personally seen many of Gaby's Cakes and honestly nothing compares. I would say her attention to detail is spot on. This post is long overdue, Gaby is truly amazing. She made cakes for my sisters babyshower and made my sisters vision come to life. The cakes were delicious and everyone wanted a second piece, it's the first time we were not left with any cake. Gaby responded promptly when I contacted her and she was very helpful and easy to book. Her customer service was above and beyond and never said she couldn't do anything I wanted. We are extremely happy with the services provided by Gaby's Cakes. We met with her back in February 2015 put a deposit for our wedding date of 9/2015. Everything we wanted she provided. We ordered a 3 tier chocolate with chocolate fudge cake and red velvet with raspberry and cream cheese frosting. Our design was spot on with the picture we provided to her. Gaby did my husbands 25th beer cake and it blew my mind. I came to her with just the idea and she was able to make it better! Everyone was amazed by it, it was too amazing to eat! Deliciously Amazing! She became our family baker! Cant wait for my baby shower cake in march! She delivered on time. Along with a very devoted husband, we recently purchased a Special Order Tiffany and Co birthday cake for our daughter on her 40th birthday from Gaby's Cakes. She was so happy. I don't understand all these bakers in Brentwood area that are booked months in advance. How can a business run this way? I found Sassy Sweets out of Pittsburg that made a beautiful delicious cake and will take my business there from now on. Sadly, I would love to spend money in Brentwood but these businesses make it difficult. Even though there is no cake to review, this is just for customer service. I called and left a message, like their voicemail suggests....but my call was never returned. Done. read more

GABY YOU ARE AMAZING!! I held surprise 50th for my husband last Saturday and Gaby and her husband delivered two cakes; one a red velvet, chocolate mousse filling sheet cake and the other, a incredibly beautiful pirates chest specialty cake (white with cream cheese/strawberry jam filling!! Everyone took pictures and they all took the cards I put out (25 cards). Cameras were clicking everywhere. Almost everyone had seconds of both cakes; (unheard of people). It was a bit surprising--not because of the policy, but because of the tone, which came across as a bit harsh. Maybe she was just having a bad day, which I can understand, but the delivery didn't feel very welcoming. I want to emphasize that I have no issue paying for water at all; in fact, I planned to go back to the car after ice cream to get water since we parked nearby. It was just the way it was said that didn't sit well. I didn't say anything at the moment since I understand everyone can have off days, but I do think consistency in how customers are spoken to is important--others might not take that tone as lightly. I contacted Gaby's Cakes hoping that they could help with my obsession of having running n-gauge trains on my kids' birthday cake... they delivered! Quite literally, I mean, they really did deliver the cake! They showed up right on time on the day of our event (which is awesome because I have no idea how I would have gotten a cake that large anywhere in my little Prius). The cake was beautiful... a double loop of N-Gauge train track going around a (chocolate covered rice crispy treat) mountain and lake with bits of landscape detail here and there. The cake itself was a super moist chocolate with raspberry filling all wrapped in fondant. Good fondant! Gaby's Cakes adds a bit of flavoring to the fondant... even my wife liked it, and she hasn't been a fan of fondant at all until now. read more

Gaby made my daughter's dream birthday cake. We met with her and showed her a few different pictures we had found on-line that we liked. She was able to capture what we liked best from each picture. She was also able to add a personalized chocolate tree with a possum hanging in it and an owl that my daughter specifically requested. (We had her party at the Lindsey Wildlife Museum.) I could not have been happier with our cake. I received so many complements on it. Everyone wanted to know where I got it. The cake was also delicious, so I will be going back to Gaby from now on! Gaby, did an amazing job with my birthday cake. I love the princess jasmine from Disney and she did such a fantastic job. The taste was to die for, it was so rich and not dry at all. The art work that she does to her cakes are unbelievable, I am a very hard person to please and she did that more. I was at aww with all the detials. The prices are reasonable and well worth every penny. Kelly Kakes sweet potato pie reminds me so much of my late grandmother's, which I devoured every Thanksgiving. The red velvet cake is the best I have ever had for all the aforementioned reasons: flavor, moisture, and sweetness. If you like banana cream pie, do yourself a favor and try the banana yummy boats. We will never order dessert from another place in the Bay Area. We found our spot!
