My first meal in New Orleans since my last visit in 2013 -- and a great way to kick-off a few days in The Big Easy. The Asian Cajun Mix Grill was a fun fusion way to start things off. That night, I was lucky enough to have the rabbit (on special) with a mustard sauce, cheese grits and red beans & rice. Don't skip desert -- or the cocktails (ask your fabulous server for a recommendation) in this casual dining room that's a wee bit off the beaten path away from the throngs of tourists (like me).

The service is great. Real New Orleans hospitality on display. Great for an intimate dining experience; fist date or established relationship. Also can accommodate small groups. I recommend reservations to ensure you have a spot. I had a business dinner meeting here and it was very good. The staff were intrusive yet attentive.

This was our first time having the bbq shrimp sweet potato pie and oh my, it was so good!! The oysters were really good too but the pie is the star appetizer. The fish came out a bit undercooked which they fixed pretty quickly. It was very tasty and with the biggest lump crab cake ever that had a deliciously paired sauce with it. The decor is very Nola: warm, inviting, a bit eclectic but still in a relaxed, elegant way. The service was great too!

Nice ambiance and friendly service. I enjoyed my Traiteur Fish (seared filet of gulf fish, jumbo crab cake, preserved lemon aioli). It was a big portion: I got two fish filets and a huge crab cake. The fish was excellent . Love the creole seasoning. The crab cake was crispy outside and very juicy inside - unfortunately I didn't get to finish it. It was too much food. My friend got the smoked gumbo with sausage, however she didn't like it. She said it was too smoky for her so much so that it tasted bitter after a while. She didn't finish it either.

An excellent place to feel at home and eat delicious cajun cuisine. The service was friendly and unpretentious. It felt like being in someone's home who knows how to cook really amazing food. Everything we ate was not only tasty but cooked to perfection. I loved the fact that it was in an area that, as a tourist, I wouldn't typically have had on my radar. I loved my experience and would absolutely recommend Gabrielle to anyone visiting New Orleans.

Hubby and I had a lovely date night here on a cool, Saturday evening in NOLA. The establishment is quite cozy and intimate. Felt like I was dining at someone's home, in the best way. Waitress was very polite and attentive. Our food and drinks were divine. The BBQ shrimp pie is a must try. Truly unique and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my veal roulade entree. This was my first time trying veal. It was perfectly tender and paired well with the lobster ravioli. Very rich in flavors. Hubby ordered the traiteur fish that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Delicate and tasty. He did enjoy his meal but I will say, the jumbo lump crab cake that the fish was paired with surprisingly lacked luster and flavor, especially compared to everything else we had. Albeit, our overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend this neighborhood establishment!

I very highly recommend to make reservations because it's small yet very busy with a lively vibe. We went for the coolanary menu. I started with the gumbo and trust me, I'd go back just for that, the dark roux was delicious. Next up was the jambalaya, it was good but I was not big on one of the sauces tha was too garlicky for my taste. The peach shortcake was good but shortcake a bit dry. Husband very much enjoyed his wagu meatballs, squash and chocolate pecan pie. I do plan to return for the gumbo.

Stopped here because their restaurant week menu looked intriguing and was overall blown away!!! One of the best restaurant experiences we've had in NOLA in a while. An unassuming hole in the wall on the outside with a very cutesy intimate dining room that pays homage to jazz fest with a lot of vintage decor. The service was top tier, as good as any renowned white table cloth restaurant and the deal could not be beat! Every dish we got was divine, prepared perfectly and came out so timely. We were waited on so attentively and happened to catch the tail end of their happy hour so ended up getting a great drink deal too! Will definitely have to come back soon.

Worth a visit. The Trateur fish stood out. Chess pie was yummy. Service was very good. What's not to like?

Is there a dress code for Gabrielle?

I have seen folks in shorts and also folks in formal wear. So I think as long as you are wearing clothing... and yknow shoes, you'll be good.

OMG!!!! This place was sooo freaking good!!! The seasoning and sauce was perfect for what we asked…read morefor. I came with a friend who had never had a seafood boil. I've never had crawfish and seeing it was crawfish season we were destined to be here. We built out our own seafood boil, which included, 1lb shrimp head off, 2 soft shell crab clusters, 1lb crawfish, corn, potato, and sausage. Let's just say we left with a pretty big leftovers box We ordered the hot house flavor and do not regret it one bit! Our server was so kind to show us how to peel and eat the crawfish and honestly it was so fun!! I will definitely be back next time in New Orleans!! One quick note I will say that I learned from a local that I wish I knew before this feast (And you should double check with staff if this info is correct). Most seafood boil places in the area when they have headless shrimp it is farmed and brought in from outside retailers where if you get head-on it's from local ships in the area/fresh caught. Apparently they've been struggling and if you want to support New Orleans local fisherman then go for the head-on shrimp. Again double check with staff if their head-on shrimp is local cuz I learned this information after visiting.

Ordered fried alligator bites and popcorn shrimp as appetizers...these alone were probably 4 stars…read morebut it went down hill after that. Took 30 min into the meal to receive the gumbo we ordered. Server would disappear for 20/30 min increments. As our meal we ordered snow crab slam - the shell was seasoned but meat was bland. Also tried the jumbo shrimp plate with fried rice, rice was very dry! Overall disappointing for 1st time in New Orleans. Ps. Restrooms were filthy!!!!
