I ordered a personalized leather letter jacket from Gable Sporting Goods totaling $512.53. After being notified it was ready for pickup, I arrived expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the jacket was handed to me like a plastic grocery bag--no hanger, no garment bag, no protective covering whatsoever. I even had to ask for a hanger, which should be a basic courtesy for an item of this price and quality. I also had to ask the associate to confirm the personalization and inquire about any warranty because none of that information was offered. The representative provided no assistance, no explanation, and no sign of basic customer service. Gable's may be known primarily for selling guns, but you also sell team merchandise--and customers purchasing those items deserve the same respect and care. My letter jacket cost as much as, if not more than, some of the firearms on your shelves, yet the service didn't reflect that. Based on my experience, I think parents and athletes from area high schools should consider taking their letter jacket business elsewhere. It truly doesn't feel like Gable's values us as customers. I bought a AKK 47 and I told the cashier I didn't want the display mode. I had 2 wait 2 days so I go pick my gun up. Took it home put it on the table in the box finally I looked at it. It was clearly the display model scratched all over. I almost think it was returned. Do not trust them and look at the guns before you leave this rat hole. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews recently but let me tell you that this place is absolutely amazing. I've been going here for three years and these folks have been nothing but helpful. I bought two guns off the shelf and the process was so quick. (I am a CC holder.) just recently I purchased a shotgun online and sent to them as my FFL. They called me to say it was ready almost immediately after my delivery email came through. The guys behind the counter are hilarious, my girlfriend feels completely comfortable being in there alone as the guys take care of her as well. She also loves their yeti collection. Spent more on those than I have on guns LMAO. Stop in and check them out! Oh and if you carry, make sure you don't have one in the chamber lol read more

When you come in for trading or upgrading your guns they don't give you a fair price anymore as in the former years. The selection of ammo has gone down a lot. I know that ammo has gone up in price but it is plentiful in other places. They act as if they don't want your business. Honest and awesome place where everyone is open and friendly to the customers. I went in for a shotgun pick up that was shipped to store. Rome was a really chill and cool guy and knowledgable about firearms and ammo. I didn't even know they made mini shells until he told me. My second time here I was able to get a modification for my Mossberg 88 just so it could fire mini shells. If I ever have to make any ammo purchases or anything else, Gables will have my money. read more

Gable's sporting goods has been around atleast as long as I have and probably much longer. Clark gable and the guys that run this place are old school douglasville for me. My grandfather has been buying guns and various other sporting supplies from them since atleast sometime in the 1970's. The shop is a little out of the way and doesn't look like all that much from outside. You can really drive right past it if your not looking for it. They have a great selection of firearms (both handguns and long guns) as well as supplies and accessories. They also deal in fishing, baseball, football and any other sporting need you can imagine. My parents ordered my highschool letter jacket from them when i was in highschool like 12 years ago. Thats another huge part of their business. The staff here is very friendly and will talk to you as long as you want to hang around. I've gone in here on days when i didn't really have anything else to do and stood around talking guns and politics for hours and not even realizing it. These guys know their stuff, many of them have worked here for ten or more years and have been hunting and shooting their whole lives. I've bought two guns from them and their prices are usually $30-$50 less than some other shops. Also their just about the only place to buy new guns anywhere around Douglasville. If your our in D-Ville and need some sporting equipment forget the mall, drive a little out of the way and check out Gable's. If they don't have what yoru looking for they can probably order it and if they can't atleast you'll meet some really nice folks. read more

Butchered my Colt Python. Beware of the gunsmith at Gables, Danny Robbins works at Gables and has a home gun repair business. I took my Python to him with a cylinder over rotation problem. I was assured he could fix the gun and said it was a timing issue. Well six weeks later after he replaced some parts the gun was still not fixed, he had no idea what was wrong. I picked up the gun and took it to another gunsmith who advised me that Danny must have broken the cylinder latch and latch pin as anyone with the least amount of knowledge would have seen and advised me of these broken parts. Danny does not offer a satisfaction guarantee and the owners of Gables were of no help either. read more

I have been buying guns at this location since 2009.Mainly because of location and they match prices. I usually know what I'm getting before I walk in so I have never needed much help to base customer service on. Over the past three years there has been a major difference in the attitudes. There's a little grumpiness, arrogance and dismissive ness.Like they are doing you a favor or something. I purchased a pistol from them a few months ago specifically for a trip I had coming up.I had to take it back so they could send it to the manufacturer to get something fixed.After a month went by I called them to see if it had come back. The guy on the phone told me he hadn't seen it. He didn't go look or check with anybody else. I then called the local sales rep for the fire arm manufacturer. He said he would look into it.I waited about a week. After talking to the manufacturer and the sales rep come to find out my pistol had already been sent back to Gables and had been sitting there for a week. I then called Gables and they tell me that the manufacturer did not fix the gun.It has to be sent back again.At this point they had my pistol back at their store for a week and knew it wasn't fixed and would need to be returned to the factory. They didn't call me to inform me of the issue and had made no effort to contact the manufacturer to start the process over. The sales reps supervisor called me. I told him I would go get the pistol my self so he could send the shipping labels directly to my house and he would over night every thing to cut down on the wait time. I then called Gables and told them not to do anything that I would take care of it. I drive up there, ask for my pistol and the guy goes to the back to get it. The guy that apparently was supposed to be handling things on the Gables side said he had a shipping label sent to him.So basically...why am I picking the gun up? I told him I was taking care of it directly with the company. Apparently he didn't like that very much. All I said was "I'm sorry but you guys had it a week and never called me so I'm going to do it my self. His attitude was that some how I was doing them wrong by doing it my self. The other guy gave me my pistol ,I looked it over ,said thank you and started walking out of the door. The young man at the counter that I was talking to before about me taking over the process was having a conversation with his buddy about me. His exact words were "I don't care if he throws the gun in the garbage can". Since 2009 I have averaged about one gun a year from them. I've bought my kids baseball and softball stuff there. I've bought my archery stuff there. To me it's always been about price and location. The one time I did have to have some type of customer service interaction it was an absolute disaster.I never blamed them for the firearms manufacturer not fixing the problem. Yet somehow they treated me as if I had wronged them in someway. The comment made as I walked out of the door is something you would expect from a lower level employee that just wants to get off and go watch Netflix.Not from an owner/management. read more

I shop with them because they are honest, friendly and treat you like family. You just cant get that in the big box stores. I have never had a parent tell me they felt like they were over sold . i have had there bow tech clay work on my kids and my own equipment .
