So I hate to leave a bad review but enough is enough. I'm an avid shooter and frequent ranges pretty often. Just moved to Douglasville and decided since this location is close, I'd check them out because I actually needed help installing a part. I called the location and was told "Our tech is at lunch but he will be back in 20 minutes if you want to swing by". Awesome! I headed that way and when I got there, it just seemed like a bunch of kids working. No hello, no nothing. I get to them who never asked if I needed help and they are just staring at me. I explained what I needed (taking off a spring clip) and was told "We don't have that tool. Go to Gables". Gables is actually an amazing place and the guys are awesome so I don't know why I didn't go there in the first place. So I left. A couple weeks later, I went back to Stoddards for some range time since Gables doesn't have a range. Once again, no hello, no how can we help you, nothing. I ask the guy about renting a range just so I could site in a red dot and he goes to someone else then comes back and says "We aren't taking anymore shooters". It was only 1:30pm. Now it was Christmas Eve and they were closing at 4 I think but there were empty lanes and it was only 1:30pm. The staff just looks like a bunch of kids who don't care about what you want, they just don't wNt to do anything that requires energy. If you need an amazing gun store or gun smith, go to Gables Sporting Goods in Douglasville. If you are looking for a range, go to Governors in Hiram or The Pit in Villa Rica (contact through Instagram). It's a shame cuz the Atlanta location is so nice and friendly. This place isn't worth your time. read more

Great spot to do some shooting! Staff were all friendly, polite, and helpful. Smooth and easy process. Nice range area. Decent pricing and a nice variety of guns to rent for shooting if you don't have your own. They will have you go through the motions of loading and unloading the gun if it's your first time shooting there or if it's been over a year, which I think is great. Safety first! Great experience! I had a great time and learned alot! We used a groupon for orientation and range time. The orientation class was great because the instructor taught us gun safety and how to hold the gun. The groupon came with instruction, 1 hour range time, gun rental, eye wear and ear wear. All we had to do was purchase ammo from them. I like that you can switch your rental out for a different gun at no additional charge. We tried a Glock .380 and a 9 mm. I prefer the 9mm. This locations a bit far for me but the employees were all very helpful and friendly. read more

I've called a few times to get information on any changes made due to COVID 19 and the person who answers has been helpful and friendly. Not sure what happened or who this person was this week. On Monday, I desired to finally try out this range since my gun club brings a lot of business to the Atlanta location. I called in advance and was told the last shooter is taken a quarter to 7. No problem. I got there at 6:34PM and was told without greeting or the slightest appreciation or apology that I'd driven all the way out there: "if you aren't a member, I won't be able to help you shoot today." There were about 7 folks in the lobby- 2 separate families and then myself, solo. I was very disappointed to have called, driven all the way out there and only to be told that one would need to be a member to shoot there the the last 2.5 hours before close. No problem if that's your policy, but please be helpful and demonstrate some appreciation for your customers. I typically drive up to buckhead to go to Quickshot, but desired to support THIS business. I chose to spend my money at THIS location, even with everything going on. Purchased the majority of my firearms from Stoddard's and have never been disappointed. Great location in Douglasville and Atlanta (near Atlantic Station). Always receive good customer service at both locations. The staff is always willing to educate you on things that you don't know. Not a good experience today. Management needs a course on helping clients and a full update on the products they sell. Asked the manager Grant for a simple item to adjust the front sights and his quick unprofessional posture needs to be checked ASAP! The management of this organization is lacking in good business ethics and common sense. They just let go one of their best managers at the Douglasville location (not the Atlanta location) who boosted their sales significantly for the last couple years and brought in a ton of new business. I'm not sure what they were thinking but I recommend going to QuickShot Atlanta or QuickShot Buckhead the forerunners of full auto rentals in Georgia. They are super cool - they do not police your guns and they let you rapid fire steel cased ammo (steel cased ammo is the most widely used ammo around the world specifically with AK variance rifles and It creates no barrel damage). QuickShot indoor facility is set up for Rapid Fire and they do not care about making money off your brass. Also they do have free Krispy Kreme donuts in the morning. NK read more

I have shot at Stoddard's in the past. Each time I go in the staff is less and less friendly and helpful. Through poor management decisions they have gone from a 5 star down to 1. I will avoid unless they bring in some managers with knowledge and customer service skills. read more

My first time at a Gun Range was when I stepped foot into this place during my Atlanta stay in August. Michael was extremely friendly, humorous, informative and knowledgeable...Talking to him helped ease my anxiety. I couldn't wait to load and shoot my Pink 9 millimeter that my friend loaned me that day... I put on my eye protectors and analog muffs and I was READY!! We entered the range and at first, I was a bit startled by the sudden gunshots that rang out right next to me by the professionals LOL...But I got used to it. My friend taught me how to load, stand, aim and SHOOT!! I loaded up, aimed and FIRED!! Shot after shot...wow what an exhilirating feeling..!! read more

Stoddards Guns is a new gun shop thats opened up in Douglasville. The owner, Michael, originally planned to remodel an existing shooting range that had been sitting empty for some time. During the renovation process the building burnt to the ground. So they decided to open this shop until the range could be rebuilt. (i hear construction will be starting in the next few months, very excited). This is a great group of guys. My dad and i have purchased several things from them since they've been opened. They are very knowledgeable and have a real passion for what the do. They are seem just as happy to stand around and talk to anyone who comes by as to actually sell you something. They have a fairly wide selection and if there is something your looking for that they don't have they can order almost anything and get it pretty quickly. They usually stock plenty of handguns and a nice variety of rifles. They also get police trade-ins which is awesome since they rarely see heavy use and can usually be had for a good price. I know the last one my pops bought was about $150 below retail of a new one. On my last trip i picked up some .22lr, a shell carrier and ...... something else that i can't remember, but the guys were more than happy to talk to me and let me handle anything i wanted to look at. I will definately be back as soon as i have some money to get what i really want but before then i'll probably stop by anytime i'm close by just to hang out for a while. read more

Ken, I have been an annual member at the Douglasville store since they opened in the new location. Today I was TERMINATED. As I mentioned in a previous note in the comment section of your website Brittany needs some customer care training. She asked me if anyone had contacted me about the Wednesday night Pins shoot, I advised her I did not hear from anyone and that we would no longer shoot pins at Stoddard's. We were given a lane to shoot on and when we got to the lane it was not operational, I went to the counter and advised a staff member of the situation and was advise someone would be out to fix it 30 minutes later I again went back to the counter and help finally came. She was unable to fix the problem. We waited another 30 minutes before we decided not to wait any longer. I was there to show a neighbor the range as she wanted to join. So back out to counter to check out and after much delay Brittany informed me that my membership was terminated. I can only think because I told her earlier we would no longer shoot pins that I wanted to end my membership. I asked when my renewal was due, she would not tell me only that I was TERMINATED and was directed to leave the store, which I did. After 50 years in sales I know the value in excellent customer service and what I see from Stoddard's Douglasville is anything but poor. There has been a huge change for the worst in the past three months and as a result I know personally you have lost many members with many more to come. Please do the following:1- rebate my $10/month competition fee as there were no competitions for the past 4 months. 2- rebate any moneys due on my current subscription. 3- an apology for the embarrassment in front of my neighbor. 4- advise me when a more customer friendly staff is once again working at the range. Don't call here if you have any questions about ATF gun returns. I know someone who bought two guns and end up having to return them due to a first time offender case from 1998 being left in an open and under indictment status in Fulton County. So, searching for advice, I called Stoddard's to find out if we could bring the guns there for them to take the guns from our possession until the issue was resolved. Placed on hold. No one ever returns to respond to me. Moral of the story is, you can take your guns back to ANY licensed gun dealer, but the guns cannot be held. You MUST sell back the guns to any dealer and send the receipt to the ATF agent that contacted you and requested that you return the firearms. Instead of Stoddard's just telling me that could ONLY buy the guns or that they weren't willing to buy the new and unused, unfired fire weapons. And anyone working in a gun store should know the laws and be able to tell people what is needed to be done or they shouldn't be working at a gun store. read more

Absolute sh*tty customer service. They straight up lie on their website talking about "range admittance ends half hour prior to close". Well if you arrive at 7, say, and the range closes at 8....they'll turn you away. Even tho.... Last time came I was shooting until 7:45 so.... Maybe they need to train their employees better, and/or stop hiring young kids who just wanna collect a paycheck and go home. Either way, I won't be going back. Got a call from a manager (Mitch) the same day i posted my review, he explained how they ran their range & safety being their priority & agreed that things weren't handled well on our first visit. Offered us an opportunity to come back and shoot free of charge. Reluctantly we accepted, Thankfully Mr arrogant was not there. In fact we were welcomed by Nathan who I've worked with before on a FFL transfer (everything was uphill from there) You would never have thought this was the same range. This place introduced me to my new hobby!!! Seriously...my BFF and I decided to give this place a try after being turned off by another range we were extremely pleased with the service at Stoddards Upon entering we were offered help. The rep ( I forgot his name) walked us through which type of weapon we should try first, ammo needed , protection etc. They were super helpful and offered to even spend a little time with us one on one if needed. We were both familiar with shooting and didnt need the one on one but it was super nice of them to even offer. We will definitely be going back to shot. Great place!!! read more

These guys enjoy their work and have fun. It has an a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I never feel like I'm being sold something by these guys. Let me just start by saying, I haven't yet been shooting here. However, I stopped to get some quick information about range prices and about training classes. When I walked in it just happened that, Johnathan (spell?) the guy from training was on the floor. He was very polite, patient, and thoroughly answered all of my questions about pricing, the class schedule, and about possibly purchasing a handgun, without making me feel silly for asking. I walked out feeling much more comfortable. I will definitely be going back to Stoddard's to get my practice on! My only complaint is that, at both locations, it seems that they only have 1 time for the training course during the week. I really need something a little early so I can be finished by 6, without having to leave so early and miss the rest of the class. Black Staff. Known cop range, but Black Staff. A lot of melanated lady shooters working as well. Big change from when I first shot there, but clearly a sign of the times and a true reflection of ATL. Technology wise the place is top 2 or 3 in the city. Decent ammo prices considering the Cap in this industry. All employees appear knowledgeable and competent. On February 8, 2015, my 2 sisters and daughter and I went to the Stoddard's in Douglasville, GA. To purchase out first fire arm. Our salesperson was Frank; I must say he was the most personable and patience salesperson and vey knowledgeable. He understood, we were novices and needed help. After selecting which fire arms we each wanted, which were all different from each other; Frank showed us how to operate them and helped us select the correct amino, by explaining the different kind and what affect they would have. The entire was pleasant and we will be back for our training and would recommend Stoddard's to friends and family. read more
