I've been looking for an affordable, used, laptop for the purposes of writing. I went to Buck Creek…read morePawn, as I've shopped from them before for Guns and ammo, and saw that they had a single laptop left. The owner, or at least the person working the counter, must not have much knowledge of computers. That, or he is practicing extremely shady business practices and is overcharging with knowledge. The laptop was old, at least five years in age, and operated on Windows 7 (A now obsolete operating system. Windows no longer supports updates for the OS.) and I found that the charger was broken. It was meant to be a three pronged inlet, however the middle prong was missing and sent out a spark when plugged into the outlet. I turned the laptop on to test the machine and found it extremely slow and unresponsive. I brought up "Task Manager" and found that it took nearly three minutes for the diagnostic tool to actually respond. From there, I looked through the various functions and found few programs that should be interfering with the speed of the CPU. This tells me that the hardware, rather than the software, is the cause for the slow response speeds. With a desktop, that type of fix is easy and relatively inexpensive. A laptop is a bit more difficult to fix. Again, this is fine. They buy used P.C.'s and it did turn on and operate, if slow. However, the owner stated he would not sell the P.C. for less than 125.00 dollars. He stated that he had sold every laptop in the store for the same price and did not seem to understand the difference in hardware, software, and worth. A similar P.C., Brand new, can be bought at Walmart for 150.00 with a Windows 10 operating system, box, and charger. A used P.C., of similar specs, can be bought for 50 dollars online. The fact that he had bought this P.C. for less then 25.00 dollars shows a desire to make over 200% profit with absolutely no desire to negotiate because he believes that the current pandemic will allow him to sale the P.C. for whatever he says. This is the literal definition of Price Gauging. I would also be careful in buying weapons from this pawn shop. I bought a Glock 19 in 2017 from this company and recieved a call from them about a month later asking that I return the weapon. It had been stolen from a retired Georgia State Patrol officer. They did give me another, lower quality, weapon as a trade. I'm not certain they didn't rip me off, even after giving me a bit of cash to make-up for the price, after seeing how they handled the sell of an obsolete computer. Be wary of buying from them and do your research before you pay. There are other pawnshops in the area, remind them of that, and let the free market do its thing.

Instead, the jacket was handed to me like a plastic grocery bag--no hanger, no garment bag, no protective covering whatsoever. I even had to ask for a hanger, which should be a basic courtesy for an item of this price and quality. I also had to ask the associate to confirm the personalization and inquire about any warranty because none of that information was offered. The representative provided no assistance, no explanation, and no sign of basic customer service. Gable's may be known primarily for selling guns, but you also sell team merchandise--and customers purchasing those items deserve the same respect and care. My letter jacket cost as much as, if not more than, some of the firearms on your shelves, yet the service didn't reflect that. Based on my experience, I think parents and athletes from area high schools should consider taking their letter jacket business elsewhere. It truly doesn't feel like Gable's values us as customers. The Tom Lowe Trap & Skeet Range is located in Southwest Atlanta off of Camp Creek Parkway. What do you do here? Shoot clay pigeons with shotguns. It's a lot of fun. Various online deals have floated around for this skeet range. Groupon is one example. I bought my deal through Tippr. Some of the deals are advertised under the business name "Deshotel Arms," which is the gun shop located at Tom Lowe. It's the same place. If you don't have an online coupon, expect to spend about $25 for one round (25 shots). This price includes one round of targets, one pack of ammo (25 shells), gun rental, and eye and ear protection. Successive rounds are less expensive since you're only buying additional targets and ammo (and not re-renting the gun). If you have never gone skeet shooting or shot a shotgun before, I highly recommend going to the free beginner's class at 10:30am on Saturdays. The class is very short, but is important because it teaches you safety, what to expect on the range, and how to properly handle and operate a shotgun. If you plan to take the beginner's class, you need to show up on time as they do not accommodate for late arrivers. There are several shooting stations on the property. Each available station is manned by a Tom Lowe employee whom you give your token to. One token is good for 25 clay targets. The employee stands next to you while you shoot. When you say "pull," the employee launches a target into the air for you to shoot. There are different types of target shooting you can do. The standard one has you moving between six to eight spots on the field. In the beginner's target shooting round, you stand in one spot and fire at targets that move from the low house away from you and the high house towards you. These are easier because you don't have to follow/lead with your gun as much. It's more of a straight shot. Always wear your eye protection when you're on the range. You never know when a broken off piece of clay will come ricocheting towards you. It will leave a mark. Also, be firm with the shotgun, against your body and your face. Some of my friends got sore from the recoil of the shotgun because they were too relaxed in their setup. You want the gun to push your head and body back as a whole, not kick back up and smack you in the face. Men typically shoot 12 gauge shells and women/youth shoot 20 gauge. You can request differently, of course. I shot the 12 gauge because it was standard, but I heard from Christopher P. that it's easier to aim and more fun to use the 20 gauge shotgun. The instructors were nice, but the employee manning our station was not very friendly. It felt like he did not want to be there. We all wished we had a different employee. It wasn't too big of a deal, though, because we still had a great time. It's just like Duck Hunt. Now all they need is a dog that pops up and laughs at you when you miss.
