This is the 2nd time I've been to Kindred Spirits since it's been under new ownership, and this…read moretrip had me pleasantly surprised. The first time I visited a couple of months ago, the employee was not wearing a mask. She was very nice, however all I noticed was the lack of mask which made me uncomfortable and I left soon after. This time, both employees were masked and socially distanced and I felt much better shopping. What I noticed is that some awesome improvements have been made! I started consigning at the store years before. I had some negative experiences which saw me stop consigning. Namely, I felt that the owner was not knowledgeable about certain designers and also rude. I had consigned some Giuseppe Zanotti shoes that were new without tags and they priced them at $24. By the time they'd sent me the price sheet and I called to address their error, they'd already been sold. This happened a few times, and I noticed that merch seemed to be way underpriced or way overpriced with seemingly little rhyme or reason to their system. I also spotted them selling a clearly fake Louis Vuitton bag once - the monogram pattern lined up incorrectly and the seams were in the wrong place. Basically, I had long-term issues with their pricing and merchandising. The other thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is that one day while shopping, the owner and employee were discussing politics and their clearly Republican leanings. Discussing politics in front of me, a customer, was rude and a faux pas plus I did not agree with their opinions at all. So, I stopped consigning and shopping with them. When I discovered that the store was under new ownership, I had to give Kindred Spirits another chance. This time, I noticed that prices are more uniform and their merchandise is more current. I saw lots of Anthropologie brands, brands that had been missing under the old ownership, plus many items new with tags. The staff has been so kind both times I've visited and, other than the mask issue, I've really enjoyed shopping with them again. I'm planning on consigning again soon. The vibes are overall much better!

I found some really cute things, placed them on the counter and no one came to help me. I think the lady there may have been the owner as she was telling another woman how everyone was on vacation and she was by herself. This did not stop her from ignoring a paying customer to chat. There are some really nice things in the store but I don't like being ignored and treated rudely.

This best friend of mine also has cancer and has been undergoing brutal and painful treatment for the last few weeks now. While accompanying her to her treatment one day, we decided to just spend the entire appointment online shopping. She ended up falling in love with the most adorable chair for her daughter, so she purchased it online with the option of picking it up at her local PB Kids, because honestly who wouldn't love to save on shipping? We get a pick up date and on said date, we head over to pick it up. I offer to help carry it out, and after ooh-ing and ahh-ing over what seems to be an Anthropologie for specifically babies, we head up to the front to pick up said chair. My friend explains that she bought a chair online to ship to this PB Kids to pick up and pulls out the emailed receipt with all the necessary info. Now, instead of giving us the damn chair and asking if we needed anything else, we got a verbal ass whooping instead by some crusty employee with brown curly hair that looked to be around her late 30's/early 40's. Why you may ask? Because my best friend with cancer didn't physically come into the store and buy the one they had in stock or call ahead and ask for their display one so that this PB kids would get the commission/credit for the chair. This woman was just going OFF. I'm not sure what a child's chair ever did to this woman, but it must have been something traumatic considering the scene that she caused. While this woman was telling my friend to get her priorities straight, my friend (bless her heart) just wished her the best while I was ready to start yelling back. What's even more unbelievable is that no other team member stepped in. I just feel bad for this associates kids and husband, if she even has those. Anyways, don't shop here unless you want some middle aged broad screaming at you about making their numbers and profits fall when you buy something.

Pam was the woman helping me with my return. She was so super friendly and very helpful. I look forward to returning back to the store to make my future purchases. I even noticed people registering in-store. Sometimes this is nice over all online so you can see everything in person.

When I came home and gave my daughter her pajamas ($100) they did not fit. The following week I made a 4 hour round trip only to realize they were closed on that day (I believe it was a Tue). It never even crossed my mind they may be closed because it was during the Christmas shopping season but I realized that I should have checked the hours. Tonight I drove from Cleveland again to exchange them for Christmas. When I arrived the owner in the front said I could do an even exchange and told her other daughter how to ring it up in inventory. Looking through the sizes I realized they didn't have a Large. At that point the owner came from the front and said I can't return those because they are holiday items. I explained I am not looking for my money but I would like to replace the gift for my daughter. I spent $100 on pajamas that don't fit her. I politely asked if I could exchange them for another holiday item since I had just been told an exchange would be allowed and I was willing to pick another holiday item. She refused and said she would be making an exception and she can't do that. She picked up my bag that I had on the table and handed it to me and said sorry I can't help you. I left feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated-not because of the policy itself, but because of how the situation was handled. Given the circumstances, the distance I traveled and the the initial willingness to exchange, I found the owners response unprofessional and lacking empathy. The experience overshadowed what started as a very positive experience. I have learned that people will forget what you said. People will forget what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel.
