First time coming to this location. It looks smaller on the outside. They did have some things that our location in Fairview hts did not Side note there was an odd oil type smell inside the front of store it made it hard to shop for a period of time. Found some useful things. Value was something's were no different priced compared to Marshalls but the quality was a little lacking. We had a small line to wait in but didn't have to wait too long to get checked out. read more

I had been hearing stellar reviews of Gabe's and all the deals to be had, so when I was in the area I stopped in. This store is like a burlington or gordmans kind of vibe without the pleasant aesthetic. Think Rural King meets Gordmans. And this location used to be a Gordman's that went out of business so I wasn't expecting that.... I was expecting MORE I guess. Anywho. They had some cool stuff and name brands - carhart, nike, adidas, Doc Martens... but the pricing was all over the place. $5 for a 3 piece baby nike outfit but $7.99 for one pair of womens socks that weren't a name brand I recognize? Womens jammies - 3 piece sets, some were $20, nicer ones were $7. There doesn't seem to be a good pattern to pricing I guess. When looking for shoes I found a lot of just one side of the shoe versus pairs... I tried on multiple pairs of shoes in my size but some didn't fit. Weird. The housewares area was a mess and again pricing all over. $5 for a single potholder... really?! I liked that they have lots of items by the registers like Marshalls or TJ Maxx. This is usually one of my favorite areas to shop :) I did make a couple stocking stuffer purchases and this is what I learned from the employee when I was checking out: - a lot of items that come here are all that's left... so if they dont have your size, there won't be more - some of the items are sized wrong and thats why they are here, so always try it on before you purchase - they always carry carhart and nike, but other brands are hit and miss - they do offer layaway and returns, which is nice I might pop in again if I'm in the area, but I won't make a special trip. read more

No apology or genuine effort was made to resolve the situation, which was both frustrating and disappointing. Accurate pricing and respectful communication are basic expectations in retail. Unfortunately, this experience reflected poor customer service and management oversight. If a Marshall's and a thrift store married, Gabe's might be their offspring. All merchandise is new here but it's haphazardly organized with sometimes very limited availability of sizes, styles, or quantities. Gabe's is massive with a slight warehouse feel. When I walked in, the far corner seemed a shuttle ride away. Patience is necessary at Gabe's. For example, despite row after row after row of shelves of mens shoes I never found a pair in my size where they were supposed to be. Different sizes were all over the place. Also, some styles I liked I couldn't find in my size. Still, there were some impressive premium brand names like The North Face and Red Wing. They sat alongside shoes made of all synthetic materials and clearly intended for "value price" retailers. The mens clothing section provided a similar experience. Racks were so jam-packed with items it was difficult to browse them. A quick circuit of the store disclosed household, pet, and pantry items; toys; foods and pantry stuff, kitchen wares; garden products; and other things that seemed to be clearance, close-out, or overstock inventory. I decided to browse around and found some good items. Sugar canister, shower curtain and sturdy rod, a decent priced laundry basket. I signed up for their rewards card and instantly received a $5 reward. FYI if you download the app you will find your receipt from purchases for easy return policy, coupons, sales etc. staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. Store was clean and well lit. read more

Gabe's has a varied selection of merchandise. If you take the time to look around you will find some great deals on clothing and accessories. The merchandise is kind of random so you really do have to take the time to look around, but if you do you won't be disappointed. They have a fair amount of brand name merchandise and I have gotten some great deals here. read more

This store is crazy - but in a good way. Overwhelmingly massive. Racks upon racks of clothes with pretty good brands! I spotted J. Crew, LOFT, Ann Taylor, Maurice's, Old Navy, Carheartt, Nike, Lane Bryant, and various of the JcPenny brands like Arizona and ana. They also have the random brands you'd see at Ross or Marshall's. Impressive shoe selection. Overall prices were better than Marshalls/HomeGoods/Ross, and I thought there was a much better selection of brands. Line was long on a Saturday, but it moved fast! Bring your patience - the clothes weren't super well organized but if you like a good deal treasure hunt, this place is heaven . read more

Stopped into this location because I heard there is one also coming to Fairview Heights. I was expecting something along the Nordstrom Rack but this store is worse than Burlington's. Jam packed full of haphazard inventory to the extent that it's not possible to shop for clothing. Thrift stores are more organized. Fair amount of seasonal decor. It's absolutely overwhelming and mostly cheaply made clothes. Not worth the time or effort. read more

Where do I begin? Been there 2 maybe 3 times around the grand opening and maybe a month ago, it's a bald guy there he just doesn't seem to have good customers service very loud and rude. I heard him yelling like he was going to fight someone this happened twice while I was shopping at Gabe's and I can't believe he still is an employee Gabe's just doesn't care about who they hire he clearly need anger management or a reality check. Now on to the ladies at check haha what a joke they say they are mangers but they didn't even know how to do current things and they were just standing there, some talking on there phone I can literally see the tall one talking to someone while standing there looking lost not helping the ladies on the register and it was a line. My 3rd trip to Gabe's was ok, the young lady in men's was nice and helpful and also a very sweet older woman by the name of Joyce I love her so sweet but I will not be returning read more
