Long hair don't care (because now it will do itself!) #japzillian
    Jacqueline H.

Kevin is an absolute doll, 100% authentic, and committed to your happiness - with your hair and your life. He has a wonderful energy, soul, and dedication to his craft. If you are new or have had straightening before, he will help you make the best choice for your hair and will make the time fly by in his working (aka living) space. This is not a quick process, nor should it be, and he will help you get the best result. You get what you pay for when it comes to hair, and life, and this is not a service where you want to cut corners. Thank you Kevin, for sharing your passion and amazing skills!

So I just moved here but previously I had been in the area and Jason cut my hair so naturally I made an appointment when I got to Portland and he did not disappoint at all!!! I am in love with my hair!! Jason knows how to please and I'm hooked! Super cute place at that!

Had my first Brazilian blowout and am in awe! Seems too good to be true. Had my first wash and my hair is actually still straight. When I think of 20 years of curls with a mind of their own and hundreds on blowouts and hair products, the cost more than pays for itself. Kevin makes the process painless and easy. He's also highly knowledgeable and cares about healthy hair which I really appreciate! I've had other stylists from trendy salons dye away without any real recommendations. Not Kevin-he's a true professional! Also he does an amazing job on color too!

Kevin is a hair GOD! I had very thick, curly hair and I wanted it straight. I did my research to make sure I knew what I was doing. Even after all the research, I was still a little afraid. But I should not have been. Kevin took care of me like no hair stylist has done it before. We agreed to do the Japanese Thermal Straightening and the Brazilian blowout together because of my hair type. The process is long and expensive, but I would do it ALL OVER again. Kevin is very funny, fast and knowledgeable about both processes. The results were unbelievable! I have no more curls and my hair looks soooooooooo natural & healthy (it does not look like I had it straightened). It has movement and it is sooooooo shinning! Every where I go people compliment my hair and the person to thank is Kevin! From now on he is my hair stylist.

The day after washing. Greasy looking and limp.

Edit 6/26/16: The owner, Kevin, called me after I posted this review to let me know how sorry he was that this happened, that he had never received my email, and all the stylists are self employed, renting space from him. He did offer to give me another treatment, which I declined because my hair is finally returning to normal, 2 months post treatment. Original review: The smoothing treatment by Gina ruined my hair. I purchased the Groupon with Gina after I called to make sure it would work for my fine hair that gets frizzy in humidity. She assured me it would and told me to do my color first. The smoothing treatment stripped the color from my hair, made my hair limp and greasy looking so that I had to start washing it daily, and gave me a ton of split ends. I contacted Gina who flat out refused to do anything to try to help me. She didn't even want me to send her pictures of my hair. She even suggested that I try to get a refund from Groupon, for a service that she rendered. I also sent an email to the salon owner, but he neglected to respond at all. I contacted the manufacturer of the solution, Keratherapy, who have been great, sent me free products to try try and make up for it. The manufacturer said that #1 based on my before pic they wouldn't have recommended the treatment for my texture of hair at all, and #2 the color was stripped because the iron was either too hot for my texture or she made too many passes with it. They have been trying to contact Gina to discuss what went wrong, but that has come to nothing. I understand that things happen sometimes with chemical treatments, but the lack of customer service that I received from this salon in beautiful downtown Portland was appalling.

    Eyebrow makeover by Mandy!

As I've recently started coloring my hair darker, I've been wanting to try eyebrow tinting, but have been nervous to do it. Mandy did not disappoint! I waited to grow out my brows so I could get a nice wax too & she was excellent at giving them shape & definition. I will definitely be back!

Thanks for turning my lion's mane into pure silk, Kevin!

Looking for a fun salon experience while getting the hair of your dreams? Then visit G2! Kevin is a wonderful stylist who's also an absolute joy to be around. He turned my lion's mane into pure straight silk. Kevin has great attention to detail and gave my worn-out hair the TLC it needs. His prices are very reasonable, especially for big processes like Japanese hair straightening and Brazilian Blowout. I will never go anywhere else!

I went in for a consultation where I got to share all my aesthetic insecurities. Despite the vulnerability, I felt empowered to make the right decision for me. Further, my decision was treated with respect which made me feel more confident about moving forward. I ended up getting masseter Botox for my TMJ. My injector made me feel comfortable and even provided me with anxiety relief tools. She was precise, patient, and provided wonderful patient care. Unfortunately, my injector is no longer at this business but I'd be willing to see others who are also qualified and experienced. I also appreciate the complementary 2 week follow up because it alleviates any concerns about possible complications.

I have only had Dysport, nothing else and recently went to an equally if not a better location for similar injectables at the Vancouver waterfront and it was a fraction of the price. You can also find Groupons (then cross check their Yelp reviews) for a fraction of that. I usually prefer to do lasers etc when I travel because it is MUCH LESS than of the price for the same treatments in the states, but I usually get Botox at home. Overall the vibes are weird, cons of treatments (other than dangerous) aren't really shared, or alternative options for the look you want are not shared (if not sold here) similar to other reviews. I originally tried Dysport in my massetur muscles in my jaw for tension. It helped of course but I did notice slight jowling after which I found out was correlated/caused from Botox in the jaw from tiktok vids. Needless to say, it isn't addressing the underlying problem and is just a bandaid. My last appointment here, I shared I wanted to look a little lifted and refreshed mostly under my eyes. I had done lasers and microneedling in the past which helped, but was short lived. Now -- more thanks to tiktok -- I probably need to fork over for sculptra or sofwave. This will NOT be fixed by injectables. My nurse told me she could do a little cheek filer and some other filler around my face. Mind you, I'm terrified of filler. Potentially I would want a facelift down the line which I have heard can complicate that process, but mostly I don't like the bloated look, it is often so obvious and then you become blind to it, keep getting it, and look crazy. Especially in the cheeks. I already have full lips so I don't need that. It was sold as if it would even out my face and give more balance, and I thought about it, did trust the nurse, who had great texture but who's own filler was still a tad overdone, making me a little wary. It's not like Botox where it wears off over months. You're getting it "dissolved" or whatever with little lumps lying around forever, so I wanted to take the time to think about it and ended up canceling. I could see others being very pressured and trying at the appointment even though I'm sure this is as overpriced as Botox and it gives you the vibes they're trying to hit a metric. They should give you options--even if they don't offer the treatment--for the result you are looking for.

They were friendly but not in that fake way that you see in a lot of the surface industry. I was offered a choice between tea and water and was given my paperwork to fill out. My facial with Terril was very relaxing. We went into the treatment room and discuss what my concerns were with my skin and what I was hoping to get out of my appointment. Terril was very attentive, asking questions along the way. One thing I really liked was that the table was heated because I've been having some issues with my back that make it uncomfortable to lay down so having that heated surface under my back made my appointment even more relaxing. My skin felt amazing when she was done, even though she had to do a few extractions. I was so pleased that I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for a few months out so that my skin will be able to recover from the upcoming summer months. I highly recommend checking out this wonderful little spa and I look forward to returning for my next facial.

Tools are sanitized and new buffers+files are individually wrapped- which I also appreciate. Two sisters, the owner and someone else worked simultaneously on our manis+pedis. They were super pleasant and had delicate hands. Good. I wanted my services to be better. By the time we got here, it was an hour to closing. My kid and I knew that although both our manis+pedis would take more than an hour, that these folks would still go through the motions accordingly without rushing both jobs and worse, beating the clock. I get it- we all want to get home- but both our manis+ pedis were $65ea and was way too much money for polish that I had to remind my nail tech to fix around the edges. My kid and I left feeling more stressed than relaxed.
