I am angry y'all got a food truck AFTER I moved, but this review isn't about that. I tell EVERYONE about G's! Only been coming since y'all were on Blending Blvd and I never went to another BBQ afterward. I've had every meat on the menu. I'm only in town for a few weeks now and I've already been to G's twice. I came today to try that Brisket Smash Burger. The brisket is a religious experience in itself. I actually called my mom this evening and told her if she were any closer, I would slap her, the food is THAT good. I love the feel of this place, too. The environment is peaceful and rustic, but modern.

It's hard to pass by G's food truck without those wings calling out to you. They're the kind of wings where if you were in a blindfold test and had one of their wings, you'd say, "That's G's." They offer a great selection of Southern sides made in-house. I recommend the potato salad. You get one side with any sandwich, brisket/pork, and the meat portion is generous. Service is always with a smile, whether you're visiting the brick-and-mortar location or the truck. You can locate the truck stops on their internet platforms.

I've been going to this place when it was just a shack on the side of the road. If you are looking for good BBQ this is the place to go. The turkey is super tender and you can't go wrong with anything you order. However you just try the beef ribs. The old location had wall to wall awards for the beef rib and it is a must. Enough meat to feed 2 people easily. Service was great at the new starke location and the ambiance gave a nice southern feel. Don't pass this up.

The food here is excellent. We started with the jalapeño popper, omg those were so good. Spicy and gooey and yummy. We tried the platter with ribs and brisket, it came with two sides, mac and cheese and collard greens along with a slice of toast. The serve was very friendly and prompt. She kept our glasses filled and checked in a few times. The atmosphere is very family friendly with TV's that had sports Chanels on. I would definitely return to try their breakfast if we are in the area again.

Wow! I really enjoyed G's BBQ. Our party of four just slipped in before the wait lines. Our waitress was very friendly. I think her name was Cherie. She made our experience that much better. Inside there were lots of TVs all around with closed captions and an over all good vibe. I'll be back the next time visiting Starke.

Last night we went to G's Slow Smoked Barbecue in Starke, and let me start by saying--we never go out to eat. We're an autism family, and meltdowns can be very unexpected and unpredictable, so dining out is usually something we avoid. But G's went above and beyond for us. Even through our daughter's meltdown, the stares from other customers, and me trying not to cry at the table... our server Brooke and the owner made sure we felt welcome, supported, and comfortable the entire time. They even changed the TV outside just to help calm her We aren't a family who tries to disturb anyone's meal, and I was honestly worried about affecting others' experience, but G's treated us with nothing but kindness, patience, and compassion. Thank you so much for making this special family feel seen, welcomed, and safe. Your kindness meant more than you know.

Delicious! This restaurant has become a regular pit stop for us while traveling back and forth to visit family. I haven't had anything that isn't amazing. Turkey- check. Ribs- hmmmmm. Pulled pork, absolutely delicious. And the mac-n-cheese is so good. I love their garlic toast too. Service has always been fast and friendly. I highly recommend trying the desserts too- psst, you can take it Togo if you fill up!

We were in Starke, FL this weekend and tried out the recently opened G's BBQ (@gsbbqflorida). We pulled into the parking lot and the smell of slow-smoked meats wafting from the premises immediately hit my olfactory nerves the moment we stepped out of the car. It was a nice late afternoon so we opted for outside seating, plus the inside was jam packed full of people. I ordered the G'Rassic Beef Rib. It's a massive beef rib to rival the one that toppled Fred Flintstone's Cavemobile. It was delicious, meaty and fatty, smokey and salacious. No sauce required, but very much appreciated its complementary position on the table. Mah Wife got the BBQ salad with brisket. This salad was HUGE. Looks like they used a whole bag of mixed greens and added corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and a side of avocado ranch. This salad could feed a family of four. The avocado ranch was creamy with just a hint of jalapeño heat. Before the meat sweats kicked into full gear, we got some peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The temperature contrast between the warm cobbler and the cold ice cream was a perfect way to end the meal. If you're in the Starke area, definitely check out G's BBQ.

I saw this restaurant on a friend's timeline and wanted to try it since I'm now doing new restaurant Sundays on my YouTube channel. We took the ride out. The weather was not the greatest, but we manage to get there before any downpours. When we got there, the restaurant was full. All they really had was sitting at the bar or outside, since it wasn't raining we decided to sit outside and hope that the rain did not follow us. We ordered a couple appetizers and our drinks. You can always judge a barbecue restaurant, by it's sweet tea, and this one was pretty good. Appetizers came out and not shortly after we had finished.The appetizers, our main meals came out. The décor in there, it's typical of a barbecue restaurant. They had music playing on a speaker for us outside. So we had a little bit of background music to drown out the street traffic. Had to ask for a drink, refill and the only other thing, and I know it's outdoors, but the flies were really bad sitting out there. All in all, the food was really good.One of the managers, came out and asked us how our food was, it was a nice change from gainesville barbecue restaurants.. If you're looking to try some barbecue somewhere outside of Gainesville, Give them a shot!!

We've enjoyed G's BBQ at their previous locations, so we were excited to try out their new spot--and it absolutely did not disappoint! We met up with family for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon, right in the thick of the after-church crowd. Despite the rush, we were greeted and seated promptly. The staff handled the hustle impressively well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and stayed on top of everything, even with how packed the restaurant was. It's always a great sign when service doesn't suffer during peak hours. As for the food--just as delicious as we remembered. G's continues to deliver on quality, flavor, and those comforting BBQ favorites we love. Highly recommend checking out the new location. They've kept the same welcoming vibe and excellent food, now with a fresh space to enjoy it in!

Our 2nd time at G's wasn't any better than the first unfortunately. I hear so many people rave about their food...and yet we were not impressed. I like their chicken tenders but that is about it. Hubs got some ribs...they were dry. The coleslaw was not to our liking...tasted like they put mustard in it. It was also very soupy. The fries were just ok...a little undercooked (should have asked for crispy). The peach cobbler, which they bring out with your meal, had a blob of whipped cream on it which, by the time we were ready to eat it, had melted all over the top and onto the table. One bite and we knew it must have had a half cup of brown sugar in it. Waaaay too sweet. Sorry G, we won't be back. read more

Extremely friendly and attentive service coupled with some extremely tender BBQ, G's is a good find. The ribs were so tender the meat fell off the bone. The brisket was a little peppery but still very tasty. read more

Personally I go out of my way to stop in here and get my lunch or dinner and most times take it home. They are so nice and accommodating and the food is absolutely wonderful, especially the macaroni and cheese!! read more

O.M.Gee!!! Hubby and I enjoyed the BBQ very much! The BBQ joint is a small establishment located on a busy street so you can't miss it. We recommend the brisket! This place makes me scratch my head to give it a proper review What I ate gets 4 and 5 stars. The problem is I drove across town for beef and there was none to be had at 6Pm on a Thursday night. No brisket, no chopped brisket and no beef ribs. The pork ribs were 5 star. I was impressed and I am from Texas! They were very tender and had twice as much meat on them as.most BBQ joints provide. The flavor and texture showed great care while in the pit. Also, the green beans, collard greens and baked beans were outstanding. Don't bother with the banana pudding. It did not deserve to be in the same building! Canned vanilla puddind with a few bananas thrown in is what it tasted like. read more

I wanted to like this place. It's close to home and seems to have steady business. But I honestly didn't like anything that I was served. The fried okra was the only thing that I enjoyed eating. The service was great, the waitress even noticed that I didn't like the Cole slaw (which was super sugary) and offered to change it out. The ribs were tough. read more

Absolutely the BEST BARBECUE in Orange Park and surrounding area. Eat-in is so pleasant and everyone there are extra nice and make you feel at home. The sides are really good especially the potato salad and greens. You can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Make sure you get a sweet smile from Peggy. She is the nicest lady. Thank you G's!!! Decent bbq spot. They do military discount and are very military friendly. I love the decor of this place. You order first at register and then pick your table and get yourself a drink. A server will bring your meal. All the staff were very friendly and sweet. BBQ was good, didn't get to try any desserts! Next time! read more

This was our 2nd attempt to eat at G's BBQ. THE 1st time there was a sign on the door that stated that they were out of just about everything on the menu. Ok, we understand you had a GREAT day of business. We are happy for you! We left because there was not much to order from. We came back tonight and they were out of beef ribs and white meat chicken. That was fine. I asked. "What are G ribs"? Those are beef ribs, but we just ran out about 5 minutes ago. I was going to get chicken I was telling my husband but they are out of white meat which is all that I eat. The lady said, "we have turkey but not the chicken." I told her that I didn't want turkey. While we continued to look at the menu, we let a gentleman go ahead of us. He and the lady staring taking and she made reference that they can't help running out of stuff. Well, it is 6:30 on a Wednesday night. Dinner has just started for most people and most places continue cooking to ensure they don't run out of food. I have been in food service for many years with my family and this is not an acceptable reply G's BBQ just lost two customers and and bad review. read more

My absolute favorite BBQ. Mr G's is The Must Go To for BBQ. Several friends have been there and the reaction is the same. You won't find this BBQ at any of your cookie cutter smoked BBQ joints. This is the real deal. I can definitely see why Mr G's is award winning. You won't find one item on the menu that isn't good. You won't be disappointed. read more

Visiting on a Saturday evening, the line was about 8 deep after walking into the front door. They had one cashier who was taking orders and customers who were waiting for call-in pickups were in the same line waiting the the rest of us. Even with the busy scene, the cashier was friendly and helped us place our order (first time here) and provided us a table number. We walked to the back and waited 20 minutes for our food. There were two wait staff (one of them was mostly taking orders to the front for pickup). Neither of them seemed happy to be there which gave off a bad vibe not only to us, but I could see the other table's reactions as well. The food: The BBQ brisket and chicken were good (had a nice smoky flavor) but the sides (mac n cheese and fries) seemed very bland, and the BBQ sauces that I saw were coming from what appeared to be commercial containers rather than homemade, and sauce is half the battle! I'd prefer to walk up and get my order from the window rather than have servers based on what I saw during my visit. If this is a growing pain, I hope it gets worked out as good BBQ places are far and few between in Orange Park. read more

I had been craving BBQ, was out finishing a HomeDepot run, and remembered my nephew recommended G's. I pulled in to the parking lot to look at the menu and check reviews. One review claimed G's was better than Mission BBQ and 4 Rivers, and since I love both of those places I was excited to give it a try. The pork sandwich was good but the baked beans, collard greens, and banana pudding were not. This was during COVID stay at home recommendations and things were a little crazy. Maybe they were unable to get all the normal ingredients. I may give them the benefit of the doubt and try them once more. read more

I went to G's in downtown Green Cove Springs while visiting a friend in the Jacksonville area. It came highly recommended by locals and didn't disappoint! The service was fast and friendly and the food was fabulous! The owner stopped by and chatted with all the customers that were there at the time. He stopped by our table and recommended some sauces to try. We talked for a bit about BBQ. After I mentioned that I'm from North Carolina we discussed the different styles of BBQ from the Tar Heel state. His knowledge of and passion for BBQ is evident. A great hole in the wall type joint. I go all over Florida looking for decent bbq, and as a NC native have been disappointed more often than not. Friendly people and the entire meal was cooked perfectly top to bottom. Not too many places you can find good cornbread like this! read more

The best Bar be que in Clay county. So yummy. I had the beef ribs with baked beans and mac n cheese, my husband had the pulled pork sandwich and my Mom had the pork ribs with green beans. All of the sides were good too. I can't wait to go again I'm gonna try the dirty fries fully loaded. If pictures could tell you a story mine would be a best seller. When we first received our meals we noticed it wasn't quite appealing to the eye, the presentation was a bit sloppy. My family ordered food from here and I personally ordered the smoked sausage, under it there was a slice of white bread covered in grease. But I didn't give this place a one star because of that. I gave this place a one star because the food simply had no flavor. The French fries were really bland and the meat was dry. If you want good bbq I suggest going elsewhere because this just isn't it. read more

The food here was hot and came out fast. The pulled pits sandwich was juicy and you could taste the natural smoke on the meat. The fried okra was really good too and was fresh. Over all very satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. read more

Really good BBQ, maybe the best in Orange Park-Middleburg area for sure. All the sides I had there were great, the bbq is flat out great but the best thing there is the beef rib. It's a brisket on a stick, so tender, smokey, and juicy. The price for that item can't be beat either. A lot of places will charge well over $25 for beef ribs and they price them under $15 and it's one if the best. I would go here here weekly if I could. read more

Priced reasonably, portion size is great, flavor through the roof! Only reason I didn't give the 5th star...ran out of cole slaw on a Saturday afternoon. Can't have a melt in your mouth brisket without some bomb slaw. Friendly and engaging staff, will absolutely come back and try again! Update, the slaw is fantastic! I return here every Saturday that I dont work. I constantly crave their brisket burnt ends but can't make the trip from north jax to middleburg on working days. Hope they can expand to a third location further north...Take my money! read more

This is my favorite BBQ ever! And bbq is my favorite so I've had a lot but nothing compares to G's. I even had them cater my wedding. Everything is delicious but my favorite is the G rib- fall off the bone tender, like a piece of pot roast on a bone, and perfectly seasoned. Some bbq places have decent meat and the sides are just okay.. however at G's the sides are fantastic. And sides are important to me! Outstanding baked beans, collard greens, and Mac and cheese all that is the best that I've had at any restaurant. Even their sweet tea is on point. I could go on and on about this place but seriously if you've never been you are missing out! read more

Mouth watering barbecue ready in minutes after placing your order. The blueberry cobbler is perfect and the beef ribs glide right off the bone. They make their own sausage and I am forced to get it every time in fear they won't have it the next time we have dinner there. It is a lot of food so be careful how much you order. read more

Don't judge the place by its exterior. Walked in and is a very relaxed, roomy restaurant with table like many of us eat at in yesteryear at home. Country table I think they call it. Big black board on wall with specials. Very detailed menu also. Cell service is not existent inside but I did see and use the guest WiFi. Several ladies serving or taking orders so service was great. Menu is pretty extensive but I finally settled on the Reuben and went with the soup as a side. The Reuben was delicious. Not overloaded like some try to do it but also not lacking. Delicious!. Now I know soup when it is 80 outside but she sold it well. She also did not oversell it as it was as good as she said. Loaded potato with bacon and cheese and broccoli. Wow. Cleaned it all up and washed it down with some truly awesome sweet tea.

This place is country BBQ. It's not the place you enter wearing your Google Glasses, little Tyler and Cassidy in the double stroller in tow, American Express shoved in the guy's face, asking for "gluten-free" cornbread and for lo-fat kale, not collards and PLEASE(!) hold the salt pork! This is "Southren" BBQ all the way and that is why it's so good! You park in the yard, under some trees. There's not really a parking lot proper so to speak of, so prepare to have the Range Rover washed after having visited here. You enter through a creaky door where the counterman (most likely a co-owner and one of the pit-masters) will personally take your order. As for the BBQ it's pretty good. It is very tender and fall-off-the-bone, especially the ribs but I've had BBQ cooked all sorts of ways before and this BBQ kind of reminds me of the stuff I've had that's been pressure cooked (or God forbid, boiled???) prior to being BBQed. Tastes good, but I'm wondering... Venue is fun, North FL crackerbox and the people who work there are all delightfully friendly. Same goes for the clientele but if you're expecting San Marco hipsters, you're gonna be sadly disappointed. Everyone who eats here is about as real as people get! If you're looking for the best spot in Starke, G's BBQ is the place to be. I find myself stopping in here all the time because they consistently deliver on both quality and flavor. Their barbecue is legendary--the brisket is always tender, and the pulled pork has that deep, smoky flavor you can only get from a pitmaster who knows what they're doing. But the real "pro tip" for locals is to get there early for breakfast. They serve up some of the best morning food in the area; the Brisket Biscuit is a total standout, and you haven't lived until you've tried their breakfast burritos. THE best BBQ in town...seriously! We cook out own BBQ and that is the only BBQ that can compete with G's. The Jacksonville area really does not have great BBQ in all honesty. I'm telling you that it absolutely worth the drive to the Middleburg area to get too quality BBQ.... And the sides are outstanding too! read more
