Don't order the chicken wings. Worst I've ever had. Very bland. Over cooked. Not hot. Just overall really bad. Check my reviews ---- I never leave harsh reviews. This was really bad. Took an hour for us to get really bad food.

Boneless wings and fries

Delicious food and coffee is excellent. Waitress was very attentive and nice. Down here for the winter tough sometimes great food. This place definitely was.

Pretzel Sticks

On the way home from a long day of traveling, we found ourselves passing through Starke, FL, ready for a bite to eat. When I tell you we lucked upon this gem.....!!! I assure you this is not your typical, franchised 'wings stop' and bar. Not only was the beer utterly frigid, the food was piping hot and perfectly prepared. The pretzel sticks were exactly what we needed to enjoy with our cold beers, as we made dinner selections. The pub cheese offered alongside was tasty, but IMO only took away from the awesomeness of the pretzel sticks with the Gold Rush sauce and salt. (My husband thoroughly enjoyed the cheese.) We were fortunate to have the sweetest server who not only looked after our every need, but offered suggestions on food choices and quickly offered my husband a taste of the signature sauce when he questioned the level of heat. That sauce was a perfect compliment to the monstrous chicken breast, offering a spicy/sweet kick served on a toasted brioche bun that was equally delicious (...and locally sourced from Jacksonville's own, Jacksonville Village Bread and Bagel.). The burger was cooked perfectly and the waffle fries (premium side upgrade) were definitely the right choice. Plenty of seating is available for small and large parties, as well as bar seating, if desired. From the moment you enter, tables are prepared for open seating with both drink and food menus available. A 'To Go' area is marked clearly back at one of the bars, and we noted a few orders going out during our visit. I'm guessing their take out is equally as impressive as their dine in experience. The owner/operator has definitely taken great pride in creating a local eatery that offers excellent food coupled with incredible service. It is obvious everyone there is working hard to ensure the environment and the product is of high quality. So the next time you're anywhere near Starke, FL, take a chance and give this Dick's Wing a try. I promise you won't regret it! We will definitely be back.

I work all over Florida and visit a lot of different places and being in Starke last week, I wish I knew about this place sooner. Amazing service, awesome food, great hometown place.

Fried Green Tomatoes

So I haven't written a review in a while but here I am. I ordered carryout about a week or two ago and that experience sucked. The paper they lined the to-go box with pretty much became part of the meal. I threw it away. Tonight I wanted to try dine-in. It was not busy but it had 2 large tables. I ordered before both, it took 30 minutes for a Fried Green Tomato appetizer and an additional 30 minutes for 10 boneless wings and an order of onion rings. The server checked on me after I had pretty much finished each meal vs. 2 bites/2 minute industry standard. Even though there was enough servers on the floor it seemed like they were overwhelmed. With a clear view to the kitchen, the manager, she was plating up fries without gloves, handling the cordless phone and going back to help the line without washing her hands or putting gloves on. ARC Group, based in Orange Park, created this concept along with Fatty Patty's. They need to shop their stores more often to see how their franchisees are representing them. Will I go back, probably not, didn't have high expectations when I walked in and left with the same opinion. Wish I could have had a better experience. There are not a lot of places to eat in Starke as it is already.

These amazing boneless wings were fresh hot and extra wet

As I'm down here in Lake, Butler, Florida. Just wanted to Try a new location while I was on vacation. My waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Informing me not to really try the bad things. Because the way she likes them is how I like them with meat. My pineapple beer was definitely different and I appreciate that. Food was fresh, hot and fast, very clean atmosphere.

A late lunch!

Stopped on our way to Naples. Excellent and friendly service. Everything we ordered was delicious, including the wings. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Grilled buffalo chicken salad with Georgia girl and great balls of fire mixed sauce...omg good!

This is a review based on my experience over a 6 month time span so that I'd not judge unfairly on…read morejust 1 visit. Please note that the owner/management is the same as Whiskey River in Statke FL, & this review applies for both establishments since they use the same "bartenders" (unprofessional, unskilled, poorly dressed, uncouth behavior, except for 1- Allana; women only, never a man) who are interchanged between each bar, & serve the same products. The "bartenders" show no professional and/or self-respect (except Allana) in speech, behavior or dress; as I had to listen to talk of vaginal labial protrusion (aka "cameltoe") & attempts to physically display the same in a stripper/prostitute like manner in front of lecherous men, & have same "bartender" openly admitting that they are (illegally!) vaping cannibis while working (no wonder that they cannot remember prices! See below). Staff dress is often strip joint level, but I have seen enough breasts in my time that when going out I need not see more; especially when they are not as attractive as their owner might think. The patronage etiquette is no better, as in 1 visit a man shouts past many other patrons (myself stuck between) to a woman (a barfly) about penis size, vaginal ejaculation, et al. instead of going over to talk to her; & I've had my drink pushed aside many times while another takes my seat (you cannot even use the restroom w/o that happening). During one visit there was a large group there with a reserved table, but that did not stop them from taking over an entire end of the bar (5-6 seats) and pushing me aside so as to place stacks of pizza boxes directly on the bar; and later for my drink again to be pushed aside after moving as far away as possible when that same party that decided to do whatever they wanted with disregard to others enjoyment. They don't have any draft beer, nor food items of any sort (not even a bag of chips!). There is apparently no set price for their items, as I ordered the same thing & would often be charged a different price from day to day for the same item to the degree that at 1 point when I asked what a price was I received 3 different #s on the same visit from 2 "bartenders" as they guessed at what they thought the price was (prices also vary between the 2 bars for the same product!). Pricing for some items is 33%-45% higher than it is at other places (e.g. beer priced $8 a bottle, compared to others charging $5.5-$6 for the same beer!). The bar did not even have some basic inexpensive equipment (e.g. blender) to properly make drinks at the time. On multiple visits I had a drink (full beers), as well as my own food removed by staff while I was still there only a mere 20 ft away when conversing with another patron. At one time some drunken disrespectful patron squirted (perhaps a vaginal discharge!?) at Allana whose back was turned; I left immediately so as not to tear that woman off her stool by the hair and drag her outside. There are no hours posted so you have no idea what days or hours they are open & they close for private parties or other reasons without notification so even if you go there during "operating hours" you may be out of luck (for me it's a 12 mile trip 1 way) so be prepared to waste your time & $ if you assume they are open (call first!!). The majority daily patronage are local "barflies" so do not expect much if you are trying to meet new people. I also witnessed "pivileged treatment" to a guest who brought in their dog. I was told that it was not allowed, but he was "important" and apparently did not need to be concerned with others dislike, fear of, and/or allergic issues regarding his pet! It would seem, given the name and interior decor that there might be some deference given to military active duty/veterans via a minor cost reduction; but no. If you want that then you merely need travel 1.5 miles to where those serving or who have served their country can receive a free draft beer (Downtown Grill; which has decent food and none of the aforementioned issues of this bar). My last visit (and I feel sorry for Allana since she was tending) ended up with me not getting anything since the beer they had in stock was on the floor and not in the cooler due to the previous night's "bartender" having not put any in the cooler (did I mention unprofessional?); a task taking less than 5 minutes. In summary, it is an amateur and unprofessional dive bar that is suitable for those who do not care about quality of service, consistent pricing, warm beer, stoned staff, or common respect.

Starving we bellied up to the bar grabbed a menu and studied the menu. I decided on a shrimp basket and my friend had fried catfish basket. The staff was friendly and thee food came out quickly. They have an aquarium with small Gators! I love to find the local restaurants in my travels.

Tonight visit; Very nice waitress. That's the best I can say about the evening meal. Wife ordered fish with salad; they gave her a cereal- sized bowl of iceberg lettuce with a single slice of tomato, dressing in a 2 oz small plastic and charged $6.50 for it. I am not exaggerating . $4 for an ice tea in a large styrofoam convenience store-like tumbler. The fish was clearly from some restaurant supply chain and mediocre at best. My hamburger was raw in the middle, dripping with grease, single slice if of tasteless tomato. Mayo and mustard in a damn plastic packet! The entire order of fries would have fit in the palm of my wife's hand. Everything was served in plastic; A SINGLE PLASTIC FORK WITH A SINGLE NAPKIN, this in a sit down restaurant! The cost was very close to $50. I'm at a loss how this place stays in business, wake up Melrose! Forget this pathetic establishment. Go on down to Gainesville or go to Winn Dixie and get a frozen pizza, it world be a better experience. I've been in business most of my adult life. There is an irrefutable truism in business; it is much easier to lose customers than gain them.
