Best that could be done was apply tape on screen to hold it in place as it makes its way to Asurion.

I did not feel like the technician was being dishonest. My mom's phone was not connecting well to the lightning cable and the speaker when holding it up to her ear did not sound good. The phone definitely had more issues than just the battery. Place in Vegas had to extract all the software and firmware and reinstalled new software. Was not an easy task and a lot of YouTube videos were involved to diagnose.
