I would give anything to have cancelled that appointment. He went to his desk and mumbled the saying "you can lead a horse to water... ". Then he told me to sit at the machine they use to look at your eyes and he poked in my eyes. Next he said he had implanted plugs in my tear ducts. Without telling me ahead of time, nor discussing the choice of plug materials (nor possible side effects, nor the purpose, nor alternatives, nor anything else). I always extensively research any medical choices ahead of making decisions. I had him take them out before I left. However the look of the area under my eyes was ruined, seemingly permanently, and at my emergency return appointment the other provider I was scheduled with said they couldn't see anything wrong. The practice denies that the insertion of those silicon plugs could cause the side effect and offered no remedies to repair the damage. Overnight I was made to look older which affects my employability, not just any former attractiveness. The attitude of the office seems to be that the change is "all in my head", but I'm a portrait artist and very attentive to visual detail, as well as a former National Merit Finalist who gets their facts straight.

After, refusing service and contacting the insurance company, it was confirmed that his office was defrauding his patients. Shortly, after the insurance company contacted him and his office, they contacted my mom for fear of being reported to several agencies in an attempt see her. Lastly, I once Dr. Twist was a stand up guy; however since he has changed his front office staff who are rude, nasty and completely unprofessional. I now see him for what he is- money first, patient care last. One more thing of note, he now charges his patients $40.00 to write a prescription for medication and glasses. I checked with over 20 other optometrists in WNY and none of them charged their patients to write prescriptions.

I made an appointment with Schoene as my regular doctor was away. As soon as I walked in the room the doctor was already confused and frustrated with me, literally as I sat down. She refused to listen to the patient (me), and would not let me explain why I was there. She kept misdiagnosing me with newly acquired halo effect, which I've had for 18 years. She checked my eyesight so rapidly- changing lenses on me with no time to even adjust or read- then would get frustrated that I would ask to see through the various lenses again. She talked as if she was superior and very intellectual in her mind. She talked down to me in a snide tone- "I'm TRYING to help you!"- I was not arguing or raising my voice, but she seemed to insist on confrontation. She actually interrogated me like I was a convict at one point when I told her one lens looked better to me- "You JUST SAID the other was better!" She was switching lenses so fast I got confused on which was which. The worst was obviously how she talked to me- the patient- but she insulted the staff and doctor in front of me also, which was highly unprofessional. She talked down about my Doctor- telling her helper in the room "See if she (my doctor) even bothered to do this test...". She said it very condescending, and was trying to cause distrust in my doctor. I have been going there many years, so I trust my doctor and realize this lady is very unprofessional. She also talked down about my doctors staff in front of me, complaining that the tech was basically incompetent because she dilated my eyes. She claimed she couldn't do a test due to it- and wanted me to make an appointment off site for the test- by the way, my doctor has the machine at her facility, and did the test yesterday- the dilated eyes make no difference for this specific test. The worst thing is I am a human being with sharply declining eyesight- I go to this doctor for help, and I had to PAY to get insulted, frustrated, get no help, and be fearful that my eyesight would worsen before a real professional doctor came back. She gave me no written information on my diagnosis, I left very confused. My doctor came back this week, and I saw her- so I am now being taken care of by a competent doctor.

He then asked the doctor if they had something he could bite down on when they started the test. The doctor chuckled and handed him a gauze square. The doctor didn't show any concern as to why this would have caused pain. My son then stated that he couldn't handle going forward. Dr. Aliotta then abruptly dropped the scope and tore off his gloves and literally threw them on my sons lap and walked out of the room!! This is the most unprofessional behavior I have ever heard of! Dr. Aliotta didn't even try to console my son, or encourage him in any manner! My son is not a whimp, he is 33 and been in chronic pain with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 10 years. I don't care how much experience Dr. Aliotta has or his skill level, he showed a complete disregard for my sons complaints and did not treat him with dignity. The whole Western New York Urology group runs like a factory assembly line. I can't imagine any of the patients going there are treated like anything other than a number and a means to bill insurance companies for these multiple procedures!!!

Nancy Coa is amazing too, although she did tell me I was old at my first appointment,( I needed readers). And my doctor, Mary Ellen Loughrey is the absolute best!!! She always listens and has taught me more about my eyes than I ever knew about. I can't say enough good about these women!! This office is wonderful. Last year, my insurance changed, and I went to a large franchised business.And was unpleasantly surprised by the eye exam and the service... So even though my insurance doesn't pay as much, I am back at Doctor Riedel's, and was there today for a routine eye exam in which he explained all the changes in my eyes...What to notice and what to look for and what to report to him in changes that I might notice... He spent quite a bit of time on my exam.And I got the perfect prescription! The office staff is helpful, pleasant and also takes it's time with each patient. Dr. Geraci is great. Of the few physiatrists I've seen over the years, I feel he is the most…read morecompetent, understanding and flexible in scheduling. He also has a keen eye for reviewing MRIs. A recent injury required me to receive an MRI after PT was not fully able to address and relieve the pain. That MRI report came back unremarkable, even though I had a concerning amount of pain and discomfort. My PCP scheduled an appointment with a different physiatrist who also claimed to have reviewed the film and said there was nothing wrong in the area of concern and that it was absolutely coming from a previous injury elsewhere. I was not content with his findings so I went to Dr. Geraci for a second opinion. What I immediately appreciated is that he performed a physical evaluation first to check for symptoms prior to reviewing the images and report in order to have an unbiased opinion. After the physical exam, he felt there was an issue in the area that initially came back unremarkable and then went to review the images. Within five minutes, he found the protrusions on the MRI images that everyone else missed. As a result, the report was re-reviewed and amended by another radiologist who concurred with Dr. Geraci's findings. Had I not gone to Dr. Geraci for a second opinion,, I'm not certain my injury would have healed and potentially could've gotten worse. Highly recommend.

I am a medical professional myself, so perhaps more sensitive to this than someone without medical education. Also, this is a long standing problem so don't tell me what/how I feel! He did send me for a special type of PT/pain management but the PT scheduling was erratic (no fault of PT or MD). When I went back to Geraci for reevaluation, he told me I may as well stop as it didn't do any good. I explained that it had been inconsistent & perhaps we should try it a bit longer. He waved me off, and offered no other treatment options. I waved him off and found a new physiatrist.

I had to go to Buffalo Eye Care to see an Ophthalmologist…read more When I called to try to make an appointment asap, they were able to accommodate me even though they said the Doctor was booked solid. I spoke with a receptionist at 11:30 am & had to be there by 1:00pm . I got there a little early . They have a nice big parking lot, so that was a plus. Inside is very spacious. They have two doors, one to go into the ophthalmology department, and one to go into the eye care store, where you buy your glasses. They have really cool lighting inside, and the whole office plus store just looks really nice. There were three receptionist working, which was very handy because someone else was there before me being taken care of already, so I got to get taken care of right away as well. I got called into the back in just a few minutes, took an eye test told the nurse or technician the problems that I was having with my eye, and thankfully, it's nothing she hasn't heard before. That was a big relief. Then I had to go see the ophthalmologist. It was a short wait. He was very nice, very talkative, explained everything I needed to know. Give me an eye exam, a real exam with the lights in the eyes and the machine and all that stuff. And was able to diagnose what was wrong with my eye. He told me what was going to happen eventually, what was happening now, and what I would have to do in the near future. Explain things very well and in easy terms, that anybody can understand, thank God. Lol. Everybody was so nice there. I had to deal with two receptionists, one nurse/technician and the ophthalmologist, and they were all so friendly and so nice. The whole place inside is very clean and decorated nicely. They seem to have a large variety of glasses, way more than a place that I go to now has. I have to go back in a month, and I do not regret having to go back because it was a good experience. I would definitely refer anybody I know to come here for your Eye Care needs.

They don't have automatic doors or a handicap button which makes getting a wheelchair in and out of two sets of double doors, extremely difficult, and no one has ever offered to help but will just sit and watch us struggle. Dr. Gulati says all the right stuff like hello and have a nice day but his delivery and flat and unbothered. The place inside is clean and quiet. Hoping I can leave a better review at his annual visit next year.
