Terrible care and concern for human life.

When I schedule an appointment, I SPECIFICALLY state, I want to be seen by Dr. ******, am I going to see the actual doctor? The scheduler says yes of course you will see the doctor. This is not my first time at this facility and time and time again I see a PA and most recently an LPN. As I sat there listening to the news of surgery options, I can't help but wonder why can't the doctor be here because I most certainly have questions. After all, a PA or an LPN will not be performing the surgery. This is not comforting at all. All I ask for is a few minutes with the doctor to hear their professional input regarding my health and well-being. To make matters even more frustrating, I was told I'll need to come back for another appointment so the doctor can perform an examine. Unbelievable. I feel the scheduling practice is misleading and unfair to any patient who expects to speak to the doctor. Why can't the scheduler be upfront and say you will see a PA for your visit. It's not difficult, just be honest and treat patients with respect. This would then allow the patient to make an informed decision on their appointment.

Despite my appointment being scheduled for 9am that day, I wasn't even seen by a nurse up until after about 10am. After waiting around for a few hours, the doctor ordered two different tests at two different locations in two different parts of town. Very inconvenient that they were not even able to draw your blood at this location and had you go to Kaleida Health. What a pain! I can't imagine a doctor's office that refers patients 5 miles away to simply get their blood drawn. Maybe they get a nice hefty commission from Kaleida Health because of it...? Once the results came in, I really wanted the doctor to just give me a simple phone call to let me know if everything was OK. Nope -- he wouldn't do that. He had me schedule another appointment (lucky for me, they were able to get me in pretty quick that time around) only to take 5 minutes to tell me that everything is OK and I had nothing to worry about. Oh, but of course -- you have to pay the nice fees for the visit and everything, not to mention lose part of your day. Not efficient at all. Despite all that time spent, I ended up going to another urologist for a second opinion a few months later. The service I received there was night and day. I was in and out in less than half an hour with the doctor telling me exactly what he thought was the issue and that there truly is nothing to be concerned about. I probably sound like a huge hypochondriac, but I figure if you're concerned about something like this -- may as well get it seen. I would not suggest this doctor's office though based on my own personal experience.

I explained to the staff it was an urgent matter. They took 20 min worth of information. I was told the scheduling secretary will be giving me a call back to make an appointment. Day 2 i called back and explained no one had given me a call. Someone else answered and took 20 min worth of information and explained the scheduling secretary would be giving me a call back with an appointment. NO ONE ever called me back. DAY 3 i called back to see did they have an appointment yet, they told me someone would be giving me a call back. When the person called me back it was NOT the scheduling secretary, they did NOT have a date, and WOULD NOT make an appointment without my exact insurance card numbers which i did not have because i was at work. I asked to speak to the manager, the person (who sounded like a child) said they weren't available, but i could hear the "manager" telling her what to say behind the phone. When i asked was there a way for me to make a complaint to Dr. Deberry directly...the phone conveniently hung up. The whole office needs training on how to be professional. I loved Dr. Deberry before but after dealing with his office staff i will never again go there or recommend a soul!
