Two parts to this review part 1 will be Covid Testing, part 2 will be experience as a patient:…read more 1. I had been exposed to someone who tested positive. So I tried looking around for testing sites at 2pm on a Thursday. These guys had an opening and helped me make an appointment. My ride didn't arrive on time, so I called them and they were able to reschedule me same day right before they closed. Testing site was super sterile and organized. Only down side is that it took 4 days to get my results. But over all a nice experience! 2. As my grandmother's care taker I took her to see her Dr. All the time at Neighborhood Heath Center. Upon walking in there are tons of posters at the check-in counter in multiple languages explaining that they have access to an interpreter if needed. As well as posters about financial or government assistance for those who need it. Nurses and receptionists are sweet hearts. Dr.B really listened to my grandmother about her health issues and concerns and helped her through them. Even at the pharmacy there were also posters for those who might need assistance affording prescriptions. Honestly the most welcoming and helpful Doctors offices I have EVER been to! (Only downside is that even with a scheduled appointment we had to wait an hour to be seen)

I have been a patient here for several years now. My doctor recently retired. When I called to make…read morean appointment they would not get me in. And then explain to her what was going on and that I needed the blood work done for my anemia and an x-ray for my throat right away, as I felt that I have a blockage in my throat. (Ended up having a blockage). I finally did give me the blood work but refuse the X-ray and instead sent me for an ultrasound of my throat, which being in the medical field for a long time I know that the other song will not show a blockage in the throat, the tech that did the ultrasound also said the same thing. Neighborhood health center in blaisdell vet told me to go to the ER at Mercy which I did, and they told me that I should not be being sent there when they can do the X-ray. This place is absolutely terrible, instead of calling the patient back and apologizing and trying to make good on this they send me a letter saying they were dismissing me from their practice. I am completely okay with that as I felt after my doctor left it was absolutely no care at all. They would not even give me my emergency meds. Like my EpiPen for bee stings and my rescue inhalers for my asthma. This is not proper care, if they don't like when someone gets upset with them then maybe they should make an appointment for them, active listen to what the patient is trying to tell them and get them the testing that needs to get done instead of sending them to the ER where the patient gets yelled at for going there. I would not recommend this place to anyone they need to get their act together! Not to mention when you have an appointment time you're sitting for at least 3 hours to be seen, even when you have a time.

This is not my primary care provider and I am writing this review solely on my one and will be my…read moreonly experience at this doctor's office. I was sent here by a company called LHI, a company that is contracted through the VA (Veteran's Affairs) to send Veteran's "out in town" to see a non VA doctor for certain exams, if a VA provider is not available. Ok so, my appointment was scheduled for 11:45 am, which is the time that Hamburg Primary Care chose! I called them at 11:40 to say I'd be 5 min late. They said ok, that's fine. I checked in at 11:48, 3 min late. A nurse did not see me to take my vitals til 12:08, 20 min later which is already annoying. She took me to the room where I would see the doctor and said so and so will be in shortly. Ya know, the usual. I was not seen by the doctor til 12:37!! I had SO much time sitting in that room, I began to look around. The room was what I would call filthy! I mean maybe that's an exaggeration (see pics), but it's a doctor's office!! There were large dust bunnies on the floor and trim. Side note- I am severely allergic to dust mites, believe it or not. I've been tested and I start to sneeze a lot when I'm around too much dust/dirt. It also bothers my throat. You don't expect to walk into a dirty patient doctor room at a doctor's office. There were also fair amounts of chunks of dirt in various places on the floor. It looked like the floor hadn't been swept in awhile. Too long for any standards, but def too long for a doctor's office. There was also a film of dust on the edge of the counter top as shown in pics. The top of the Biohazard bin had a film of dust on it as well. They just need to clean! The doctor was very pleasant and apologized for the wait. I was polite and did not complain about how long I waited. I just wanted to do my exam and leave as I had other plans for my day after this appointment. Based on having to wait almost 1 hour to be seen and the gross state of the room, I would not recommend this establishment and will never go back. Also, I had to drive 50 minutes each way to be seen here! Luckily we're getting paid for travel.

Over the last 15 years, I have had the privilege to have Dr. Carter as part of my health team, and…read moreit's been extremely healing and helpful. I have had consistent health issues from staph infections and shingles, to problems with my nervous and lymphatic system, anemia and chronic allergies at a young age. Some of these conditions have been harder to treat, owing to the lack of a well-known root cause and/or diagnosis; this has been extremely frustrating, not only because of the pain and illness, but because of the lack of empathy, care and love I have experienced in the traditional medical system. Dr. Carter has been the one doctor that has really listened to me in a very healing way. He has validated my concerns and has not not rushed to diagnose something just to check a box. Instead of making assumptions, he has patiently walked with me through this journey to health with a lot of loving care, empowering me in every step of the way to take control of my health. I have had experiences with many doctors that simply don't show care or empathy; with Dr. Carter, I have felt that he cares for me as a patient in a holistic way, and this in itself has been incredibly healing for me. Not only that, but his evaluations and recommendations have been the most effective throughout my healing journey, as a result of his holistic, personal, and balanced approach. As an anthropologist, I have studied the traditional and fundamental role of healthcare providers over time and in a variety of cultures: a trusted person who cares for the total wellbeing of their patient. Dr. Carter truly embodies this model of care. It is a real privilege to be under the care of Dr. Carter, and I highly recommend him.
