I had an excellent haircut at G Barbershop in Kailua. Arriving right at their 9:30am opening, I was treated to a fantastic low fade. The barber, who was very sweet and skilled, did an amazing job. At a fair price of $27, it was a great value. I'm not sure if she's the owner, but the service was top-notch. I will definitely be coming back. The vibe was very laidback and felt welcoming. read more

Gotta be honest. Not a very good start to my first haircut in Hawaii. The fade is really bad, not gradual, and I'm actually embarrassed to go to work next week. Shop felt very unorganized, I felt a little to grown to be here. I most likely won't be back. read more

Not sure why this place gets so many 5 stars reviews: there is nothing five star about it. The place is quite crammed, too many chairs into such small place. The haircut quality is just average, not bad but not great either. The barber I got was done with me in just 10 min - I really don't think you can cut well so fast and it showed: a week later I looked like I need a new haircut. I strongly disliked the vibe at this place. I felt out of place here among kids with wacky hair and barbers trying to be cool and hip. I would appreciate attentiveness and professionalism instead. read more

You can count on spot on haircuts with all kinds of different fades; I have been going here for a while and never an issue. There is one barber that the staff refused to give me the name of, but he has a single blade tattoo on his neck, he is the absolute worst barber in all of Kailua. He will forget your haircut, giggle and laugh with the other barbers and take 30 min for a half-ass haircut. If you are military like me, he will make it look like you never had a haircut and you will get chewed out by your NCO's on Monday if you get cut by him. but the staff refused to give his name so look out for anyone with a blade tattoo on their neck read more

I appreciate a barber shop that allows walk-ins. It allows for a convenient, impromptu cut. G Barber Shop is nestled on the interior of a small business plaza on Oneawa Street in Kailua. Next door is a nail salon. They have parking stalls but I was in a metered space a block away. A regular - no frills - haircut is $20.00...that can't be beat on Oahu. They offer a military discount. I didn't wait long for a walk-in and the lady that cut my hair was quick and experienced. I briefly explained what I wanted and she gave me the cut I requested. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Helen was the best. I went to a place prior to G Barbershop and the first place messed up my haircut...I called G Barbershop and they said they would fit me in as a walk in. Not only did they fix the haircut for me, they did it in a timely manner and were beyond friendly ! I'll be coming back ! read more

Brah.. I was ATTACKED by a pair of clippers lol Lady went at my head like she's was in a ditch digging race. Haircut turned out okay but in no way was that a comfortable haircut. As an added bonus, she cut the string on my mask lol Alexa, play Easy on Me by Adele lmfao Would come back but probably not the same lady.. like ever read more

Walk-ins is really the only bonus about this barbershop... The older lady who cut my boyfriend's hair did a horrible job. She did a horrible line up and cut his hair super high to the top. She probably automatically thought he was military because he's not local... but he's not military. They also gave him an infection since she probably didn't clean her clippers. What a horrible experience and super disappointed. If she can't cut a certain type of haircut then she should have said something and maybe have a gentleman or another lady do it... read more

Been coming here for over 8 years, the younger guys and younger lady do a great job, but the old lady sucks and messes my hair everytime She cuts it way shorter than I ask and sometimes not even the same style but by then it's too late. I don't have a set schedule so I'm usually a walk in, I try not to hold a grudge and think maybe she'll do better this time but I guess that's my fault for having hope. read more

Post Covid 2/6/21: High stars for haircut, appointment availability, and no waiting at check in. I called in the morning, and got 2 spots for my sons in the afternoon. We got there exactly on time, and the stylist took my boys , showed them a photo of desired looks and they delivered!! Price, it's was good. Cheaper than hnlax and still did the same type of work. Here's where I need to take a star away. It was PACKED! every chair occupied with a customer and people in the waiting area. Eek. (This Place is small so....)No Social Distancing at all. When we got there I had my 2 boys, and my 2 toddler age daughters...so I opened the door just to let the boys in and me n the girls waited in the car. When my boys ( ages 19 & 13) were done, they walked out & watched the girls while I went in to pay. They did have sanitizer at the door, and everyone was wearing mask so that's a plus...just the whole packed like sardines kinda freaked me out. I still tipped good & am happy with the haircuts. read more

Soo mad today is our anniversary an my husband just wanted to look good asf for tonight. an instead he walked out of this barber shop with an infection! I've been going here the last couple months, they cut my hair and my 2 boy's hair. They pay attention to detail, are gentle with the boys, and work quick and efficiently. You have to have an appointment to reserve a particular barber, but they accept walks ins too which is nice. read more

Great service. Skilled barber. Nice tape, faux mohawk. Excellent work. We were in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Got there at opening and were first in chair. Lots of chairs available. Clean too. read more

I went is for a haircut and was very disappointed with the entire experience, When I got there I requested for Louie to cut my hair. The lady said ok and sat me down in a chair and asked me to explain what I wanted, I explained what I wanted with a reference photo and lengths on all parts of my hair. Then she starts to cut my hair, I stop her and said again that I wanted Louie she ignored me and continued cutting my hair. She did not listen to word I said about my hair cut. I said I do not want a fade on the sides and just want a 2 guard. When she brushed my hair she stopped after a few strokes and cut the knots out. When she added the line on the sides, she only did one side and I had to remind her to do the other side; she outwardly complained about it with a groan and the lines we also uneven and poorly done. During the entirety of my haircut the lady was very aggressive and hard on my hair she kept pulling and tugging on it. When she shaved the hair on the back of my neck she used no guard on the buzzer and aggressively scratched across my skin repeatedly leaving it raw and red. When it came time to pay the tip options were 20%, 30%, and 50%. Which is outrageous for a haircut that bad. 0/10 the only reason to go is if you can get your cut my Louie. read more

G is the man! Easy to schedule appointments and he's always on time. I appreciate their clean shop and big screen tv when getting a fresh cut. G is quick, smooth and super efficient. Bro has some major barber skills. Consider G for your cut especially if you're on the windward side. read more

I got to say not bad for a local Barber shop. The wait was longer then I expected especially after I called but getting back to the hair cut it was good for what I had done. I had a trim all around so it wasn't a big deal. Had to ask a couple " Can You do's" but overall it was good. They seem to be able to be creative but you need some hair for that. read more

Looking for a barber shop that knows how to cut? G Barber Shop is the place to check out. Located in a small parking lot, across from Zippy's, on the famous Oneawa St; G Barber Shop caters mostly to the military personnel, giving hair cuts and styles that you would normally see on a Instagram account. This place is always packed, and you can tell that each barber there knows what they are doing. It's almost like the "Apple Store" of barber shops, and I mean this in a good way. I've never seen a shop this packed out to get a clean cut. Although they do suggest to call and make an appointment, walk-ins are definitely welcomed; and are usually seen within 30-40mins upon seating. The cool part is that they use Square Register and support Apple Pay! 5-Stars based upon their different experienced barbers who know how to cut, and their support for technology for Apple Pay. Thankfully, because I forgot my wallet, Apple Pay came in handy! read more

Have had a number of good haircuts here in the last few months, and was thinking G Barber was going to be my new "go-to" barbershop. But...I went for an appointment last week and was assigned to a young man who I'm pretty sure has never cut hair before. I have a really simple buzzcut, but somehow this guy managed to give me something resembling a ricebowl. I asked him to fix it but it didn't get any better -- actually had to go to another barber right after and pay for a 2nd haircut just so I wasn't too embarrassed. They definitely have solid barbers there, but the fact they'd let someone cut hair who clearly has no idea what they are doing is very concerning. read more

I have been going to G Barber Shop for about 3 years now because I am extremely satisfied with my weekly haircuts from them. Located in Kailua, my boys get their hair cut here because each barber that they've been to are super talented and meticulous with their work. I consider them more of an artistic barber shop. I haven't had a chance to actually stop by this new shop. I have, however, been a client of Gary, part owner, for a few months before moving out to San Jose... From what I heard, he would do emergency appointments for club nights or last minute cuts before a hot date night for "Da Boys". I've had a comb over cut with a deep line that really fitted me well upon moving up to California. I've seen Gary do some really clean fades as well as give a couple of guys that "Kpop" look. He's even did a 180 layer on my brothers girlfriend in record time and short notice. He really cares about making sure his client's hair looks its best. Expect the best shears and best clippers in the industry if you get your hair done by this stylist... Serious stuff. read more

There are a few people that i let cut my hair i use to go to this other place in kailua called mikes when i was younger then i heard about this barber shop call G barber and how good the family that works there is at cutting hair i had about five friends tell me about it so i thought i would give it a shot. So i went there and i waited and watched how happy the people looked after getting there hair cut. I went to the younger girl because i seen her cut two other guys and they were so happy. So she started cutting my hair and making conversation. When she told me she was done i was so stoked i already knew that this is where i was gonna come forever. So i asked what was her name so i could always make an appointment and she said Cindy. I got a fo hawk and it was perfect then she took out the razor and shaves my line up it was awesome. I then got my eyebrows done and Cindy had did my eyebrows to i knew that she was the best and she asks how you want it and does it exactly how u want it and it comes out perfect then she gave me a shampoo and it was also great she has strong hands and massages good as she does it i would recommend her to everybody and i know they would be happy... Gary also had alot of happy customer and so did the older lady. There was also another guy chubby guy he was good to. read more
