New to barbers since I've only had girls but now that I have a son I find myself coming here monthly. Tina is very patient with my son (2 yrs old) even when he's pushing her away or complaining about the hair itching him. At first I was shame hearing him scream about cutting his hair but felt reassured when all the other parents/customers said "we've all been through that, don't worry it gets better" lol. Even with all his moving around and fussing she still is so patient and charges the normal $23 dollars. I make sure to tip her good for her patience though. Did not follow instructions. I was growing my hair out and stressed to them that this was just a clean up so that I could grow out my haircut for the wedding. I gave them explicit instructions to cut no more than a half inch. They proceeded to cut inches off my hair, setting me back months of hair growth for a wedding coming up. Either they don't know lengths, or they didnt care. The haircut isn't bad, they just gave me the haircut they wanted to give and did not listen. So don't come here if you want something specific. read more

Time for an update of Tina's Barber Shop. Still 5 Stars in my book. Over the years they gradually increased to 5 barbers. Each one uses the 'Tina' approved step by step hair cut process. The process includes a neck and shoulder massage at the end of the cut. And each barber does a great job on my hair. But, I have noticed that they have all mastered the 'skin fade' haircut and the younger customers seem pleased and make up at least half the customers. I have also noticed that Tina does all of the eye brow waxing. Seems no one else is trusted with this yet. Covid 19 Era: Tina's reopened June 6 per state guidelines and they follow all the regulations to the letter. No more waxing or shaving. Customer and barber both wear masks. Name is recorded, hand sanitizer etc. Social distancing etc. It was my first time back a few days ago and it was pretty painless and it felt safe. Virus safety: It did feel safe. Some are anxious to put the virus behind them. But, most that I know are still anxious and feel better with active precautions being followed. All the customers seemed cooperative and that added to the good feeling. read more

While I don't mind waiting sometimes up to an hour I don't enjoy the Vietnamese/Chinese music playing on their tv. Flew in from LA for a few weeks and my whole family needed cuts - wife + 5 year old + 1 year old. This place came highly recommended from a friend far better looking than I so I trusted it. Honestly, I'm not sure I've ever been to a place as skilled, efficient, diligent, affordable, and good with kids. Come to think of it, this might be the best overall barber shop I've ever been to. We all got in fast and we're getting cut simultaneously in 4 different chairs and we're done within 30 min and everyone was happy. This is a great small barber shop in Kaneohe. I take our boys here for their haircuts regularly. It's a small shop. Sometimes the wait can be long. Call ahead and make an appointment. Weekdays are less busy. The shop is located in Aldon Plaza in Kaneohe. Small strip mall. Parking lot is fairly small. Never had a problem with finding parking tho. I used to go here until the barbers showed favoritism. I sat for 30 waiting for a cut and when it was finally my turn, another guy (who had literally walked in 2 minutes prior) started talking to the barber. The barber smiled and looked over at me and said "I'm going to do his hair first and then I'll do yours." I sat there for a moment and in my mind said "what the fuck". The next moment I started to walk out because I didn't like how unfair it was for someone who is waiting their turn to be passed over and all the barbers started talking to each other in a foreign language. I don't know what they were saying but it certainly felt like they were talking negatively about me but I can't be certain. All I'm saying is if your establishment prides itself on providing good service, you probably shouldn't let your regulars cut in line if you're trying to build more clientele. read more

What an amazing place! With a plain store front and not all styled up like salons are you would just expect plain guy cuts. Wrong!!! Tina is amazing!! I have had my shoulder length hair cut and highlights done for over 1 year here and wouldn't go any where else. Best prices, best quality and exceptional service. I June my mom came to visit and I took her here. Tina cut & styled her hair exactly how she wanted it! No one has been able to cut her hair and her be satisfied. I've been coming to Tina's barber shop for about six months now after getting a recommendation from a friend. I will be a loyal customer until I leave Kaneohe. I've had my hair cut by three of the Barbers and have no complaints at all. Perfect haircut every time and they are all so friendly. One of the only places I know of in Hawai'i that offers a straight razor shave at the end and all at a great price! I've recommended Tina's to many friends and co-workers. I will never go to Tina's ever again. I have been taking my son here for three years now but after the way we were treated this last time I am disgusted! We waited in line like any other day and when it was our turn Tina pointed us to the girl on the right. I nicely told her that I wanted to wait for her so she had someone else go. We continued to wait as three more men came in after us. I assumed it is first come first serve. Apparently not the case. As the lady to the left finished up Tina pointed us to her. I again told her I was waiting for her. When Tina finished I thought it was my son's turn. Nope, she was calling up one of the guys who came in after us. I asked her why not my son, she said I no more time. I even offered to pay her dubble and she insisted she had to do "her" customers Instead of telling us sooner she didn't have time to stay late and these other guys were her regulars (this after we had already waited over an hour) could have had the courtesy to say something sooner. Instead I belive she was being greedy and thought she could fit us in too, and when she couldn't we were just brushed off like we didn't matter. No apologies, nothing. Just to bad. I wish she would have told me from the beginning so I would not have wasted my time sitting there with a four year old! We asked the three guys if that thought that was fair and they all looked at the floor like Faggets! It's no wonder with that kind of customer service why Gina and Nam fired her. I went to Tina's for the first time today. I did some looking around on Yelp to see where some of the best Barber shops were at in Kaneohe since I was already there. I had my hair cut by Thuy. She asked me how I wanted it cut and I showed her a picture of how I wanted it. And man oh man did she do a GREAT job copying it! It was a new style I was trying out since I just got out of the military. I definitely recommend going to Tina's. And I think I'll stick with Thuy any time I want to try a new do. read more

I've been on Oahu for 4 years and used to get my haircut at Tina's when I lived on that side. unfortunately, I moved to the west side (ewa) and wasn't able to frequently and continually get my haircut at Tina's. Had I lived still lived in Kaneohe, I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. Today, I was on that side and stop in for my last hilaircut before we leave the island. I got my haircut from Thuy and she did an outstanding job. She took her time, inspected as she went a long, blended it perfectly. When walked in to my house my wife didn't even look me in the eye because she was staring at my amazing haircut. She said, "That blend! Wow, they cut hair there so good." I downloaded yelp just to leave a review for Tina's Barbershop. I got the best haircut I've ever had from Anna. Asked for a mid-fade which usually ends up looking weird at other places. Hers was perfect, adding head and neck massages as she cut. And finished the edging with hot lather and a single blade razor. All for ~$12. Tonight my son and I came in to cut my hair. After waiting like 15 minutes, my son was called to cut his hair. As I was waiting for my hair to be cut, Tina called 2 other guys to cut their hair although I was obviously there before them because I came in at the same time as my son. I told Tina that she should have numbers or a sign in sheet, because I wanted to finish my cut close to the time my son finished. Why would she want my 11 year old son wait another 35 minutes for me to finish? It doesn't make sense...She claimed that the other guys were waiting outside. Oh well, it was hard to explain because of the language barrier. My son's cut was nice, but I'll take my business elsewhere. read more
