I originally reached out because I needed repairs to my composite stairs and railing, which was oddly bent out of shape. Of all the contractors that came out, Jarrad of Sliwinski Decks really stood out. Jarrad came out for a detailed estimate and spent nearly an hour inspecting everything, explaining what he was seeing, and walking me through the possible causes, going over material recommendations and took my budget into account. What I thought to be wear and tear, Jarrad's sharp eye discovered the damage to my staircase was caused by an adjacent sidewalk that had buckled and was pushing into the railing, which caused the entire staircase structure to fail. Jarrad was honest, upfront, and super easy to work with. He walked me through the process, worked with my timeline, and gave clear recommendations on what needed to be done -- especially helpful since I have an HOA to deal. He also set the expectation in advance that more damage could be hiding underneath but wouldn't know until the stairs were demolished. I was appreciative of that, full transparency, no upselling - just having realistic expectations. The project was completed by Mike who handled everything by himself, and he was fantastic. Even though the project was relatively small, he treated it with the same care and professionalism you'd expect on a big job. He's extremely detail‑oriented, very knowledgeable, and also trained as arborist -- which came in handy given the root issues. When he opened up the stairs and found dry rot in the stringers, he explained everything clearly and ordered materials right away to finish the job. It added a couple of extra days, but he never rushed or cut corners. The end result looks amazing. The finish and color choices turned out great, and even neighbors walking by commented on the craftsmanship and how good the new staircase looked! Pricing: I received estimates from four other companies, and Jarrad's pricing was the most fair and reasonable by far - and very straightforward, no add-ons or price markups on supplies as I paid the vendors directly using his volume-discounts. They also recommended a fantastic painter who finished the siding details. I'd absolutely hire Sliwinski Deck again and highly recommend them to anyone who wants work done right.

Right after we moved in Tim Bubniak redid our deck & did a fabulous job on a deck with 14 glass panels in the railing system. They all had to be removed & reinstalled which went flawlessly as did the rest of the job. We've noticed recently that our dock & slips were becoming very unstable & our very old hydro hoist, that had been modified previously, was having some very serious issues. We had Tim come out and he pointed out several of our dock stabilizers were broken and some of the bolts had "rounded" out their holes in others. We also had several flotation issues. Tim gave us an estimate for the repairs & a new hydro hoist & a date the work would be done. Everything went just as he said, the dock repairs were done the 2 days before the hydro hoist arrived & it was installed the next day. There was quite a bit of extra work his guys had to do but Tim stuck to his original bids. We couldn't be happier with the work. The dock & gangway are now level & stable and the new hydro hoist is a tremendous improvement over the old one. As a retired plumbing contractor I can't say how much Tim's professional attitude & the quality of his companies work provides for our peace of mind. Quality of wood not there. Quaility of work not that good. Boards cur short and gaps at ends. They…read moreinstalled 4X4 post that twisted and split 1 year later. Large gaps were left between boards that you can see nails. Some gaps large enough to put my finger into gaps. I had to have them replace 6 posts because they were twisted bad and or splitting. Well, The new post have also twisted and are splitting top to bottom. They came in and just took a sawsall in between the horizontal boards and post. REALLY? Now the boards are too short even more than before. They left boards splitting on ends. My old fence lasted 25 years. I do not see this one lasting 12 years.I have to admit I had them install fance on both sides of my yard and the one is acceptable. They tried to tell me the gaps and twisted post were normal. So i asked why only one fence is doing it and not the other? They had no answer.

I was recommended to Lebec for a foundation issue after consulting with the inspector about 6 years…read moreago. On contacting them, scheduling was very straightforward. They asked for the inspection report and I provided them with it. I met Edward at the property, and described the problems to him. We walked the outside perimeter of the property. He said that to get into the crawlspace, they charged a $300 crawl fee. I was upset by this because this was never disclosed before and during scheduling the meeting. I reluctantly agreed, and Edward spent about 10 minutes or less in the crawlspace. We discussed what I was looking for in a quote. He made recommendations, including installing a french drain at the foundation on both sides of house. What followed was several attempts at collecting the $300.00 crawl fee, including an e-mail suggesting that they cannot release the quote until they received the fee. All this was happening while a check was in the mail on it's way to them. I met another contractor, and the experience was very different. He went straight into the crawlspace, gave me his initial impressions of what the cost might be, and also recommended against the french drain, mainly because he didn't see any evidence of water collecting in the crawlspace (and neither had I over the past 6 years). He said this would cost an additional $30,000+, and is not needed. After Lebec received their check, they sent me the quote, and sure enough, the french drain install was about $36,000, and their quote for the foundation work was about 30% higher than the second contractor who came out. I don't know what their project results are like so I cannot comment on that, but the hidden price for the inspection, the recommendation for work that wasn't necessary, and the 30% price difference just leaves me unable to trust them or recommending their services.
