It was incredibly disorganized and we had to dig through fabric books to find something similar to what he was looking for in terms of color. Tiger was nice, but VERY new to this. He didn't ask any of the right questions and we had a significantly better experience at Indochino in terms of measuring. The cut on the suit is pretty bad. After alterations, it was still slightly off. We ended up taking it elsewhere to get the right fit. It took a long time time to get the suit, shirt, waistcoat, and tie. They didn't even tell us when it was ready for pick up - we had to call and ask. The first shirt that arrived was entirely wrong (and like three inches too short) so they had to make a new one. We ended up ordering his shirt from Proper Cloth instead (which turned out to be awesome). Overall, it's fine. But if we could do it all over again - we would definitely go somewhere else.

They want to bring their old Datsun into the tailor and expect to turn it into a Ferrari. No way bozos, you got a cheap deal because they didn't use handmade fabrics from around the world, they didn't use million dollar machines to do each step of the process, so quit expecting to buy cheap junk with a dumb meaningless label and make yourself look and feel like a million bucks. Invest the money just like on your car, and get fabrics that are made like nowhere else in the world, fit that you will not find anywhere, and then simply be happy, because you can be comfortable and move easily and look perfect and unique. You pay for this and not enough in my opinion, because the yarn maker is not making much, the weavers are not making much and the tailor is not making much, definitely not enough for what you get. You pay to look good, well at least better than when you came in, and you go out looking good, just ask your friends. If you don't have the one sized body that fits all, just let a tailor like Andre help you out and you will be very happy just like me. I could spend a lot more money here, however budgets come into play, and this is the best money I ever spent anywhere. No one can look down on me in this clothing, even if I was digging in the ditch. You can look at the fabric with a magnifier and the closer you get the better it looks. I had a woman I met one time and she was about 30' away and when she met me, she said, wow, it looks even better up close than far away, and she wasn't referring to me, it was my custom clothing! That is the thing, just like marble or beautiful wood grain, there are different colored threads running through these fabrics that look even more beautiful up close. Timeless beauty, hand crafted, old world tradition. Now if I could just get some of those fancy Italian shirts with fancy patterns next time and a suit with a red silk lining with dancing girls!!!

But my experience…read morewith Harris and Tailor is one that I would not want anyone else in my position to have to repeat. Everything started off well, with an initial visit to the store where I met the clothier, Mark, and scheduled a fitting. I was in the market for a suit for my wedding on June 25th, and was shopping in March. I came in a few days later, chose my fabric, got fitted, and worked with Mark on designing every aspect of the custom, made-to-measure suit. I left the store $1,200 lighter, with an estimate of a 4-6 week turnaround, quite excited to see how my suit came out. Eight weeks later, on May 31st, I got a text saying my suit was ready to try on. When I came in, Mark had apparently departed the company, replaced by someone who typically worked "back of house, or in Seattle." Not a huge deal. Regretfully, the suit measurements were way off (super tight, the custom shirt was comically short in torso and arm length, and the vest was huge and billowy). This is where things got worrisome. The new employee re-measured me and submitted the updated measurements to a tailor, who I was just learning was not a part of Harris and Tailor's operations, but a separate tailor business they outsource work to in Downtown Portland. Three weeks later, with only a week to spare for my wedding, the suit came back. Still didn't fit. This time we drove over to the tailor together with my suit, to have the actual tailor place pins in the suit while I wore it to get the right fit - this would have been nice to do from the beginning! A week later, with two days to spare, I came back in to find my suit still did not fit. We drove over once more to the tailor, who made some more measurements, and the H&T employee personally drove my re-fitted suit to my address the night before the wedding. While that was a nice touch... the suit still doesn't fit! There is a huge, 1.5 inch gap between my shirt collar and the jacket collar, something that the H&T employee was surprised to hear was a problem. There couldn't be more of a dead giveaway to anyone who knows about suits that this suit was incorrectly tailored. Unfortunately, until they rehire a clothier here, this store has no business creating custom suits, let alone charging for them. I'll have to see if another tailor can fix what I bought. PS - I wore a rental tux to my wedding and it looked fantastic.

Fine designed and made the dress that I wore for my daughter's wedding. She invested the time to help me understand the design, type of fabric, etc. She truly cared about what she did for me as a client and made sure that I was happy with the result. I ended up with a beautiful dress and received lots of compliments on the wedding day. She even helped my daughter, last minute, to fix her wedding dress which was not properly altered by somebody else. Fine saved the day!!! She re-altered it perfectly. Fine is the best! I had such a fun and happy experience with her during my alterations process. For my final dress fitting there were a few more alterations to be done and because of my busy work schedule she offered to fix it on the spot and even treated me to a slice of pizza next door. She goes above and beyond to make each appointment a positive experience. She also helped my sister with her wedding dress and made helpful suggestions for her hair and made all pre-wedding doubts go away. I have been here for a variety of tailoring needs and am highly impressed with the speed, quality, and pricing at FYN. I have had holes mended in cashmere sweaters, dresses taken in at the waist, and a dress I loved made into a high-waisted skirt. My fiance had two too-large suits taken in. All of the work was excellent quality and completed in the promised timeframe. Our clothes look great and everything fits like a glove. I will be using FYN for my wedding dress as well! read more

Wish I would've seen the 1 star reviews before seeing her and giving her hundreds to cause stress and do a terrible job she must report bad reviews as spam to be removed, so I'm adding my payment as proof of my rip off.

I brought my dress at the beginning of June for my end of October wedding. I needed a hem, zipper…read morefix, buttons replaced, loops for said buttons fixed, and a bustle. The hem and zipper work were good. The buttons were a stressful problem. The dress was to have buttons all the way down the back. When I brought it in many were missing and the loop closures at the top needed repair. When I brought the dress in I was told they would face the additional buttons with hem fabric. When I finally had buttons at my pickup appointment 2 weeks before my wedding the added buttons didn't match in color or size. She tried to not even do all the buttons. But once she did I saw they were big enough that they bumped against each other looking like crooked teeth. Upon voicing this I was told, they had to source them, that's what happens either way sample dresses and generally made to feel bad about my concern that they weren't right so close to my wedding. They did get new buttons that matched the dress better, were smaller, and replaced all the buttons so they matched each other. But this meant I got my dress on Wednesday for my Saturday wedding. At that appointment she mentioned there being extra loops, they reinforced my bustle and I had to ask them to re-steam the dress. But I was stressed and just wanted my dress. On having it home I tried it on for my MOH. We noted a gap where the loop closures were, loops without accompanying buttons, and concern the bustle wouldn't hold. I did some work on these, my MOH did some creative looping to tighten the gap and hide the extra loops. On my wedding day the bustle popped breaking a button and somehow another button came off. I had an amazing dress and wedding but Tailored in White added significant stress in the final days. At no time prior to that first attempt at pick up had I been told there was a button sourcing issue.

Update: they issued a refund for a small part of my total cost and still charged me for taking up…read morethe dress straps ($80!!!!) and for taking in my bodice to a point where the dress no longer fit at all. This work had to be undone by another seamstress so I could even put my dress on. To charge me for their mistakes is not only petty and ridiculous but seems like a scam. DO NOT GO HERE

She is located in Milwaukie in an unassuming little Airstream style trailer. It is low key and easy to miss, but do not let that fool you. Jennifer is incredibly talented and very reasonably priced. This is a minority owned, woman owned business, and she takes Venmo, which makes things easy. She always asks about your timeline and is honest about turnaround. She is not rush service fast, but she is reliable and communicative. I never bring her anything last minute, and she always delivers quality work. I have tried other alteration spots in both Vancouver and Portland. The prices were shockingly high for very basic alterations, and the workmanship did not compare. After paying nearly fifty dollars elsewhere for simple alterations, I decided I would rather work Jennifer into my schedule than settle for less. I am particular about fit. I am fun-sized, so most of my clothes need adjustments. Jennifer consistently gets it right. The quality is excellent, the pricing is better than fair, and she is genuinely kind. If you want alterations done well without spending an arm and a leg, I highly recommend Jennifer. I cannot imagine going anywhere else.
