JC Comics and Anime in Cuyahoga Falls…read more It's always awesome to see John at JC's Comics and Anime--he used to be my comic shop back when I lived in Summit County, and it's still going strong! Located on State Road, right across from Rex's Erection, JC's is a staple in the local comic and anime scene and truly a cornerstone of the community. With more than three decades in the business, John has his shop dialed in perfectly. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a great selection of action figures and collectible card games like Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. Past that, there are shelves of graphic novels, an impressive showcase of statues, and lining the walls is a treasure trove of vintage toys--from Star Wars to G.I. Joe to Transformers. Behind the counter, you'll find even more gems, like rare statues (I'm a big fan of the Killing Joke Joker piece) and vintage collectibles. JC also carries a massive selection of back issues and, of course, all the latest comic book releases every Wednesday. His wall books are always rotating--because, naturally, hot comics tend to move fast. What really sets JC's apart is his unbeatable selection of anime and manga hobby items--the largest storefront collection in the area by far. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just getting into the hobby, there's something here for you. Don't miss out on Free Comic Book Day (May 3rd)--it's the perfect excuse to stop in. Honestly, though, you don't need a special occasion to visit. JC's is one of those rare spots where passion, nostalgia, and community all come together. Definitely worth checking out.

Knight Convention Center in downtown Akron, Rubber City Comics is a must-visit for comic book fans. Formerly known as The Newsstand at Quaker Square, the shop is now celebrating an incredible 50 years of serving the community. I had the pleasure of chatting with Camryn, who was super friendly and knowledgeable. She told me all about their new comic book arrivals every Wednesday and their huge Funko Pop selection--perfect for collectors! The store also has an impressive range of back issues, supplies, toys, and graphic novels, so if you're hunting for a rare find or just browsing, there's something for you. In addition to celebrating their milestone anniversary, they're hosting a big sale and giving away free comics for Free Comic Book Day--happening tomorrow! Some items will be discounted up to 50% off, so it's the perfect time to stop by and support a longtime local favorite. Don't miss it. Tell them NEO ComicCon sent you. I've never felt strongly enough about a business to leave a Yelp Review, so allow that to be the…read morefirst indicator of the quality of the Rubber City Comics store. Having just moved here from NY, and specifically, rural, backwoods New York, I was floored to find that there was a comic book store near me. Upon my first entry, I found the entirety of the Watchmen comic series via DC Compact for $10, and I couldn't believe it. I bought it, read it cover to cover, and came back the next day. This was about a month ago, maybe a little longer now, and I've been back several times since. In fact, it's actually become a bit of a routine. Located less than half a mile from the UA campus, it's very convenient for me to walk on down during my breaks between classes. Even when it's not necessarily, "convenient" for me to come in, they've incentivized me to take the walk during weekends with their $1 Independent Sales, an absolutely absurd value for anybody, like me, who spends the majority of their comic-reading time with publishers beyond Marvel and DC. So far, I've met about three of the resident staff members, and haven't a harsh word about any of them. They are all kind, well-informed and decent people who never fail to help their patrons find what they're looking for, or offer interest-based recommendations to those who are unsure of their next read. All in all, Rubber City Comics is a wonderful shop. I cannot recommend giving them your business enough, especially as we enter an increasingly digital era of shopping and marketing. Support your local brick-and-mortar stores, and be sure to support this one as well, they absolutely deserve it.

I never even knew this existed. I love the atmosphere created in a gray record store. My wife and I were able to score a couple albums and I'm excited to go back periodically and continue to add to my record collection. When I went to pick up a order I was bothering them, trying to give them money, and they went against their written policy about loyaltly cards, treating me as though I couldn't read and my money wasn't hard earned. I have all good things to say about this Target and nothing negative. Besides the prices for groceries being too high (this is why I go to Aldi), I love their home furnishings section. I can find frames to decorate my apartment, bath towels, kitchen utensils, etc. Their clothing section is great too with a good amount of items in the sales section. Someone recently told me about the Cartwheel app which gives you discounts/coupons for items all over the store. Download the app if you want to save money while shopping at Target. P.S. There is a Starbucks inside which is cool for all you coffee drinkers. I've been to the Starbucks about twice to buy snacks and service was quick. This Starbucks is technically a kiosk (small) so the lines can get long. *** This is my 91st Yelp review overall. 45th review for 2018 (aiming for 60 reviews in 2018).

The store was an absolute mess - clothes were scattered all over the floor, with racks looking half-empty and unorganized. The problem wasn't just in one area, it was all over the place. Clothes just laying on the floor or scattered on shelves. Shoes fallen off shelves and scattered on the floor. Dresses that were hanging were very wrinkled. It felt like walking through a clearance sale after a stampede. I have never seen anything like this at any Target or really any store. It discouraged me from buying any clothes because I wasn't confident that I wouldn't wear something laying on the floor for days. I stopped by the sales area at the front of the store and was looking at pickleball themed accessories. Then I noticed some motion around me. That was an employee who threw a bandana back into its box right in front of my face. That was seriously strange. In general, it felt like the employees at the store were exhausted and discouraged. To make matters worse, the floral section was just sad. Out of all days on Mother's Day. Most of the flowers were wilted, with some bouquets looking like they'd been left out for days past their prime. Few good observations about the store. The store had really cute weekend bags. Very cute fall-like colors, all sizes. At the front of the store there is a pretty extensive Cleveland and Ohio Sports section. You can find t-shirts, baby clothes, and other fun stuff. I usually count on Target for a clean, well-stocked shopping experience, but this location clearly isn't being managed properly. It gave off a neglected vibe that made me want to leave rather than browse. Hoping this was just an off day, but based on what I saw, it might be a pattern.

I didn't really know about this store until my church friend, John, suggested the store to me because that is where he found his Bible cover. So, I came to find myself a Bible cover for a new Bible that I bought a week prior. I bought the Bible while in Chicago which is a used Life Application Study Bible that I randomly found for $1 at a bookstore. I was able to find a brown covered Bible cover here at Books-A-Million in October 2025. It has an Ephesians Bible verse on the front cover (Put on the Full Armor of God) and side pockets on the inside of it. I also like the side handle to carry the Bible cover. While at the store, a guy friend from church called me and asked me to find him a large print Catholic Bible (with the aprophcyha) but I couldn't find the exact one that he liked. I ended up returning back to Books-A-Million on October 31, 2025 to buy a Catholic Bible for him. A few others later chipped in money to use in purchasing this Catholic Bible for his birthday in November. I couldn't find a large print Catholic Bible with Jesus words in red so I bought a regular print one with Jesus words in red plus a Bible magnifier. I returned to the store in November 2025 to look for something that they didn't have but per my posted photos, I bought some Dubai Chocolates (I am writing this review almost a year later). INSIDE -- the store is large and organized by various sections. BOOKS GALORE -- There are many books to choose from, including fiction and non-fiction. They offer books in areas of business, religion, mysteries, sports, romance, etc SERVICE -- It may be difficult to find help because the store is large. When I finally found assistance, the employee was helpful during my two October 2025 visits. I remember during my first October visit, the employee walked around the Bible section of the store with me trying to help me find a specific Catholic Bible. I'll definitely be back again if I am looking to buy a specific book (I traditionally shop at local bookstores). Books-A-Million offers a Millionaire's Savings Club where for a one time fee, members enjoy discounts everyday so if that is your thing, give them a visit. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 162/250 total reviews in 2026 - 1003 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 17 July 2026
