Walnut shrimp

Good value in their lunch special offerings. Good walnut shrimp and stir fry items. Don't expect much on the decor here but you will definitely get good value on your food.

Classic Chinese banquet-style spot that delivers exactly what you hope for. The menu is built for sharing, with big round tables and a lazy Susan piled high with dish after dish. Everything came out family style so get ready to share and spin the table! The dishes were well-seasoned, generous in portion, and clearly made to be enjoyed together. The salt and pepper pork chops were one of my favorites. They were crispy, flavorful, and a definite highlight of the meal. Service was good enough for a Chinese restaurant, and they are used to handling large groups. The restaurant felt just like a traditional banquet should. A great choice for group dinners, celebrations, or anyone craving a classic Chinese banquet experience.

Visited: October 2025. Friday ~12:00pm. Wait Time: None. I was seated immediately as there were only a few other patrons. The food came out ~15 minutes after I ordered. Food/Drink: I ordered off the lunch menu, which comes with soup and white rice. The soup was average. I appreciated being served a full pot of rice even though I was dining alone. The entree portions were generous and I had enough leftovers for several meals. I drank hot tea which they serve by default. - Salt and Pepper Fish ($15.99): Crispy and flavorful. - Salt and Pepper Squid ($15.99): Same as above. I was pleased that the dish included both the squid body and tentacles. Service: Good. There was a language barrier, so they double/triple checked that my order was correct. They boxed up my leftovers for me without me even asking! Parking: There's a parking lot with ample spots. However, it's connected to the 99 Ranch Market lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if people use the restaurant-side parking for overflow during peak hours. Next Time: I'll be back to order the same items, plus I'd like to try the udon and vermicelli dishes.

Orange chicken came out soggy and cold

Came in craving steamed fish with ginger and my fiance ordered orange chicken. We arrived around 7:30 PM and the restaurant was completely empty. The place was clean but the service was very disappointing from the start. When we were seated the waitress pointed to a table without a tablecloth and said no tablecloth which immediately felt off. At one point I genuinely felt like I was being racially profiled and Im ASIAN which is so crazy to even say. I never make comments like this but the energy felt off the looks were telling and it truly felt like if you are not Chinese you will not be treated well here. Another couple came in after us was seated at a table with a tablecloth, ordered ate, and left before we even received our full order (they had 4 dishes) We waited about 30 to 35 minutes for our food for steamed fish and orange which was honestly insane. The orange chicken came out soggy and not hot. The steamed tilapia took longer than expected but I would say it was actually fresh and delicious. When I asked for extra ginger the waitress commented that it was "too much" which again felt unnecessary. The food has potential but the service ruined the experience. We will not be dining in again.

Great new Cantonese restaurant a few doors down from capital seafood. They have great lunch specials and their food is excellent. Super friendly service too. Also great for large group meals.

The service was relatively better than the last time we were here on Chinese new year eve. The food is good as ever. The portions are generous.

If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be here 3 times per week. The food is always freshly cooked to order, the portions are generous, and the lunch specials are very fairly priced. There's a great mix of American Chinese dishes here (orange chicken, sweet and sour pork) and more traditional dishes, and in the couple of times I've been here, we've tried a mix of both and found everything excellent. This most recent trip, I tried the beef satay plate and the kung pow chicken, which came with a full plate of rice as well. We both preferred the kung pow chicken, particularly the crunch of the peanut and that delicious chili oil sauce, but really dug the satay too. We were definitely full and satisfied by the end! The place is huge and always full, and parking can be a little tough in the attached lot. You might be able to park in a nearby lot or street park. One thing to note - this place gets pretty busy, and it can be a little tough to get your bill at the end of the meal. You might have to go up and ask a server directly like I did. Otherwise service was very good. We'll be back :)

We loves to come here for their lunch specials among others beside great service that they do. This time for my dad 87th birthday and as always their food never disappoints. Lobster at all time low $20/lbs and their roast pork are to die for. Panfried noodles always delish and egg tofu is another must have. Give them a try and you will be back.

4 stars Updating this review from 3.4 to 4 stars. After the initial excitement of their newness, the crowds have finally died down to a more normal pace, allowing for their service to be better. The same servers I had previously are still the same servers today. The pace of when the food comes out has also improved. All their dishes are very consistent. By now, my family and I have tried a good portion of their food and we still like it. My personal favorite will always be their Egg Tofu w/ Mixed Mushrooms ($16.99). Other great options include their stirfried vegetable dishes and chow fun/chow mein. My least favorite dishes are usually anything with their sweet & sour sauces, but I think this is just a me problem b/c every one I know loves it. It's likely too sour for me. (We always get the sauce on the side) Parking is free and plentiful now. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sit-down family-style Cantonese restaurant.

This restaurant was recommended by my aunt. The food was great, they gave generous portions, and the price was good. There was a promotion where they give you a free half chicken dish if you spend a certain amount of money, and we spent double that amount, so they gave us a whole chicken dish! We actually got two different half chicken dishes as our freebie, so it was nice to try different flavors. The staff is very nice and I highly recommend this place.

My relatives were in town and we brought them here. The place changed management since the last time I came here. The food has improved a lot. We had a bit party so we got one of the private rooms with a large turning table for a family style feast. We came for saturday lunch but it wasnt crowded or busy. However parking is difficult to find during the rush hour with everyone doing grocery shopping and eating in restaurants inside the plaza.

Terrible service -- I won't be back. I came here tonight with a group of 7 people. We were seated at a round table in the corner by a Cantonese-speaking waitress. After sitting for nearly 20 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, I got up and approached the waitress to let her know we were ready. She told me to go back to the table and said she would be there "in a minute." When she finally came, I ordered the family dinner set (which is recommended for 6 people) and added an extra dish of black pepper clams. Instead of confirming the order, she repeatedly asked, "Anything else? No lobster? No scallops?" I said no, we didn't want those. Then, shockingly, she got upset and said, "That's all? How is that enough for your big group? I shouldn't have given you this big table." There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of attitude. If you enjoy being talked down to and treated like an inconvenience, this might be the place for you.

While a lot of Cantonese "palaces" have been disappearing, this new entry and family runned Fuxing Spring in Monterey Park has opened to great food and service. Fuxing Spring serves authentic Hong Kong inspired Cantonese cuisine and they do it exceptionally well. We started with a coconut and chicken soup. It was flavorful, delicious and perfect for any special occasion. I could of just had this soup for dinner! Then came the whole Peking Duck. The duck was tasty with a nice crispy skin and served Hong Kong style that comes with steamed buns instead of the thin crepe wrappers. Their ginger and scallion lobster over noodles was absolutely delicious. The 4 lb lobster was meaty and finger licking good. The French Style Filet Mignon was tender and had incredible flavor. Every dish was expertly prepared and served. Complimentary warm red bean tapioca soup is served for dessert Prices are fairly reasonable. Service was generally very good. Food comes out at a good pace. If you don't speak Cantonese, you may get frustrated or find service to be below average. The place is normally packed with the locals in a fairly good size restaurant. They also have 2 private rooms for larger parties. Parking is fairly good as it is located and shares a lot with 99 Ranch Market, Wing Hop Fung, and Capitol Seafood. During prime time, parking may get a little tough. If you enjoy the flavors of Cantonese food, Fuxing Spring is highly recommended. I will certainly become one of their regulars!

I've actually been coming here since I was a kid when I used to live in Monterey Park, so this place holds a lot of memories for me. It's one of those restaurants that has stayed consistently good throughout the years. My absolute favorite dish here is the red rice with shaken beef. The sweet and sour sauce they give with it is SO bomb and honestly makes the whole dish even better. I seriously crave it all the time. The house special fish fillet was also amazing, super flavorful and definitely one of my go-to dishes here. Portions are generous, making it perfect for family style dining and celebrations. The atmosphere always feels lively and welcoming, especially for bigger groups. Service was busy but still attentive considering how packed it was. I'm sorry for no pics this time, but they really deserve the recognition they receive. Definitely one of those longtime spots I'll always come back to.

First, parking was so difficult!! So many cars crammed close to each other and the restaurant wasn't even full, but we parked in the street nearby. The place had plenty of seating when we arrived, spacious tables that fit our group of 16. We had a large party and split into two tables, each table had peanuts and tea, we also ordered our own bit with the same serve at the same time. We ordered our usual dishes such as corn soup, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, sal and pepper pork chops, filet beef dish, hainan chicken and many more. The service seemed slow, the bad part is that our other table got all their dishes while we had none. It took a while before our first dish arrived which was honey walnut shrimp, it was good, a bit soggy but flavorful. We asked for rice and started eating, once most of the shrimp was gone the rest of the dishes came. They were delicious, they tasted great and had good portions. The pork chop was great fresh but soon started to get tough as it cooled. The fried squid had parts that were very seasoned and some bland. My sister in law ordered a seafood tofu dish that was the best one but we ate everything before I took a photo. We also shared dishes across the tables to try out our orders. I tried the fried crab but it had more garlic than crab! The restroom was the sad part, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. The women's restroom door was propped wide open as well. I had to call my sister to bring in napkins for me... Overall a great meal, we may come back if the occasion allows.

We were…read moreable to call ahead earlier in the morning and ask if we could be on the wait list or reserve a table. They told us they could reserve a table for us at 6pm. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! Great restaurant in the SGV. This location is much bigger than their Rowland Heights restaurant, but the food is exactly the same. This is a great alternative to the popular Newport Seafood, so don't sleep on this place!

Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Price for everything (except the lobster) was pretty good. Food tasted amazing for the most part. Typical Chinese customer service. Pay at the front. Massively large portions. Solid authentic Chinese food.

Things that were delicious: The pineapple bun with the custard filling. 5/5 The beefball, well formed, with the nicest visible chunks of water chestnuts and strong cilantro flavor...usually this meat dish has a hint of orange rind, which I don't like...so I was happy the meatball was more cilantro forward. 5/5 The long rice noodle with beef...also we had the the same with bbq pork were delish. 5/5 for all three...as we also had the shrimp one, my party ate it all up first. I didn't eat the chicken feet, but it was enjoyed by all. The siu mai were large and made with shrimp, which I can't eat, but our party of 6 enjoyed. The platterful of soy chicken was enjoyed by all, just beware the chicken head will be included if you are squeamish. The soy chicken feet, also seemed to please. No one rushed us out even though the dim sum service was over by 3 pm. We had a leisurely meal and waiters made sure to come by and refill our tea kettles. I really enjoyed Capital Seafood today. About 10 years ago, I had a bad experience with takeout roasted duck, so I avoided coming back, but things change for the better.....food was great...and clearly a lot of diners packed thr place and were smiling and laughing as they dined.... I even enjoyed watching the staff change the dining room to accommodate a large banquet later this evening, which included the assembly of a large stage/dais. Very interesting how the waiters transformed the dining room to accommodate the needs of the banquet to come. Well done staff!!
