I truly cannot say enough incredible things about Erika and All-American K-9 Dog Training. Sending…read moreour 9-month-old pup, Lilo, away for three weeks was a big decision, but it turned out to be one of the absolute best things we could have done for her -- and for our entire family. The dog that came home to us was absolutely remarkable. Lilo returned with confidence, structure, manners, and an understanding of commands that completely exceeded our expectations. The difference is honestly night and day. What has impressed us the most is that this wasn't simply about teaching Lilo to sit, stay, come, or follow commands. Erika helped give her the foundation she needed to understand boundaries, expectations, and how to make better choices. Walking her, having people over, taking her places, getting her attention, redirecting unwanted behaviors, and simply enjoying everyday life with her has become so much easier. Our life at home has completely changed. Erika clearly understands that every dog is different. When a dog is struggling with certain behaviors, there is usually a reason behind them, and great training isn't just about correcting the behavior -- it's about understanding the dog and figuring out what they need in order to succeed. Erika did exactly that with Lilo. The three weeks of training were worth every single day. The amount of progress Lilo made in such a short period of time is incredible, and we now have the tools and commands to continue reinforcing everything she learned. If you have a puppy or an adult dog who needs training, structure, better manners, or help with behaviors you simply haven't been able to solve on your own, do not hesitate to contact All-American K-9 Dog Training. There is a reason behind the behavior, and they will help you understand it, address it, and give both you and your dog the tools to move forward successfully. Erika, thank you for taking such wonderful care of our Lilo and for giving us back a completely different dog. You didn't just train Lilo -- you changed the quality of life in our home. We are beyond grateful. Without question, 5 stars and our highest recommendation!

Kristie helped us get this under control, so we can now have an enjoyable walking experience with our dog. While we were working on this, Kristie also helped us with some basic command refinements with all 3 of our dogs. Kristie is clear in her instructions to the humans and is patient with answering questions and modeling how to give commands and corrections. She built a positive relationship with our dogs and with us. We have enjoyed the experience and appreciate the changes in our dogs' behavior.

For dog sitting, in our home, we've used Michelle several times now and she is great. Our 3 dogs love her and she clearly loves them too. We have 2 Great Danes and Beagle/Boston Terrier mix who are getting up there in age. Our male Great Dane has a number of health issues and Michelle handles it all so well. There's a laundry list of medications for the dogs and she does a great job keeping up with it all. She doesn't mind when I'm that helicopter dog mom and I check too often on my sick boy. Regardless of his illness, Michelle sends many pictures and text updates on how things are going with all the dogs. As a very protective momma, I trust Michelle completely with my furbabies and home. We love having Michelle take care of our babies... so much so that when we were planning the August trip we just completed, she wasn't available on our original dates, so we moved our trip to make sure she was available. I appreciate the freedom Kristie and Michelle offer us to get away several times a year. I completely trust them. Give them a shot!

Update in response to the Trainer who left a comment-He did not use a neck protector for my dog at any time. Only offered a neck protector after he gave me my dog back with the marks on his neck and took 2 and a half weeks afterwards to give me the neck protector. (Btw, I got my dog back May 26th, picture was taken July 4th-time stamped, showing how raw my dog's neck was over a month later. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of the multiple scabs my dog had on his neck when I got him back, didn't realize I needed proof. I feel like multiple scabs and raw skin is not just aesthetic.). He did not do any follow up sessions with me. I'm confused on how he is saying at home follow up sessions occured when he didn't have my new address, moved due to my dog attacking the dog at the house I was at. The amount of sessions he is claiming happened afterwards with a different trainer is incorrect as well. There was not 5-6 follow up sessions. Please keep your information correct. (I've had to state this many times.) Any sessions that the company kept trying to offer were group sessions outside of the house, not focusing on my dog's main issues-in house territory/possession issues. Which is why they were not going to see my dog's issue when sessions were conducted outside the house, as stated to them numerous times. -As I provided proof to the company, my dog was able to be off leash with other dogs outside of the home prior to training. Time stamped, multiple videos of it. Please stop trying to make it seem like my dog couldn't do that prior. My dog had very specific issues that needed to be addressed and it was not acknowledged. Additional update. Trainer has now updated his comment to say 4 sessions. I've had written responses from the company/trainers stating 3sessions, 6, 5-6, and now 4sessions. I had even been accused of cancelling several sessions, when I never cancelled any. He did cancel our first appointment shortly before it was going to happen and he rescheduled multiple sessions in which I had to rearrange things with my work to attend. There are a couple questions I feel I should have been able to get answers for such as: Why wasn't a neck protector used? Why wasn't sessions done focusing on my dog interacting with the dog he previously attacked(and attacked afterwards)? It was a month of the dogs not interacting with each other.

My puppy screamed in pain and the "trainer" started yelling at me to "get out!" and as I carried my screaming puppy out he mockingly shouted to all the other owners "She's just a drama queen!" My puppy would not bear weight on the injured foot. X-rays showed there were no broken bones, so the veterinarian bandaged her leg and we waited a week until the bandage was removed to find out if she needed an MRI to assess ligament injury. Fortunately when her bandage was removed she was no longer lame so no ligament injury. We had an almost $500 veterinary bill from her injury at the Zoom Room and the owner/manager never contacted us. The "trainer" said he would refund our $25 puppy play group fee and did not.

We had previously completed seven sessions with another trainer at Rob's Dogs and while that experience was fine for basic obedience, it felt like 'training' rather than the deep level behavioral correction we actually needed. Joel immediately identified the core issues and provided professional, actionable insight on how to actually shift the dogs' behavior, rather than just running through commands. We already feel significantly more confident moving forward and have total trust in the tools and guidance Joel has given us. If you are struggling with behavioral issues that go beyond the basics, I highly recommend working with Joel. We are incredibly optimistic about the progress we'll make in our upcoming sessions.

They are a wealth of knowledge and I successfully implemented many of their suggestions. For example, a "softer" approach to the prong collar I was using, and better timing with the remote collar. I now realize I talk too much to my dog and should use more indirect, non-verbal "pressure" to communicate commands to my dog. Jose and Monique of JD Powerhouse offer a 6-week DIY Saturday afternoon basic obedience class. I enrolled to "refresh" my ability to "communicate with" or effectively handle my dog. I have participated in various obedience classes with my dog over the years, so my dog was somewhat trained. She's a 4-year-old, American Pit Bull Terrier, with no major behavior issues. Although, she did not like when other dogs barked at her (or me) and would react for short bursts until they passed us on our daily walks. Since my dog is a 70-pound, square-headed, somewhat muscular dog, she appeared the aggressor. Jose and Monique increased my confidence and ability to maintain quiet control of my dog during our neighborhood walks. As always, I needed the training, not my dog

What I really appreciate in addition to their expertise, clear direction and upfront approach is that they didn't sell me on what I didn't need. José made it clear very quickly that it would not be the best use of money to board and train my dog, Piper. Instead, he offered me a customized package that would maximize the training and my money. That's badass. I have gone to other evaluations where trainers were trying to scare me into pick the most expensive package by over inflating the concerns I had. I left those feeling overwhelmed both by the price and by the evaluation itself. That is NOT the experience I had with José and Monique and it made the decision to choose them so easy. I highly recommend JD's Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp because you can trust that José and Monique truly care about helping you to be the best owner you can so your dog can trust you and be their best.
