Hi Yelpers! Okay, I'm going to be very honest. Before the project of the air conditioner started, I would have rated my review at 3 stars. Fix/repair or replace? We were going back and forth with quotes and it made me dizzy. I've worked with FUSE with 4 prior projects and was extremely thrilled with the work and prices. So, when we had to replace/fix an air conditioner, it was a no brainer to call FUSE. But, this time around it was not as seamless as prior projects. There was a lack of communication, there was a lot of miscommunication and there were so many people (too many cooks spoil the broth - phone operators, technicians, email & text personal) from FUSE working on my project. It was like the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. It was confusing to say the least. The staff is very caring. That is without doubt. But, I never knew where I stood until we finally decided to get a new air conditioner installed. My tenants were losing their patience with FUSE. There were too many interruptions and unknowns. BUT, IN A NUTSHELL - IF YOU ARE PATIENT, FUSE'S PRICES AND THE FINISHED WORK IS SUPERIOR. Our disgruntled tenants even said, "FUSE really does good work. They're efficient, neat and thorough." I asked them to include some specialized, hard-to-find sound-reducing hardware, and they made it happen--even though it meant extra time to order the parts and additional effort to install. After the installation, a California Title 24 energy-compliance rater inspected the work and said it was the best system he'd tested in the past three months. This is my fourth update on FUSE...I'm a member of the FUSE fan club! We had an 80 foot redwood tree fall on our house on Christmas! It was awful. It yanked out our entire electrical box and threeother neighbor's power. We were completely out of power. I called Fuse and they started working on getting the permits for the repair with the City and appointments with PGE immediately...the day after Christmas! They got our power up and running in a handful of days...PGE had told us to expect over a week. FUSE handled getting the power on for two additional neighbors and they were very happy too. That looks dangerous, you should call the electrician." - Cosmo Kramer, Seinfeld 2nd round with this crew @ FUSE, and they continue to knock it outta the park. da Scene: I'm no electrician, but I've replaced a few outlets and fixtures over the years. Recently while we were out running errands, our bi-weekly house cleaners were doing their thing, but plugged their vacuum into an outlet they don't normally use and tripped a circuit breaker. We arrived home to find 4 single gang outlets in the kitchen/dining room area were dead, including the one for the refrigerator. Tripping it back did NOT work, unplugged everything, reset all the breakers in the subpanel, no dice... so Fuse to the rescue! da Work: House was built in the early 60's, metal electric boxes throughout with several original outlets. I wouldn't call the wiring "crazy" but it definitely wasn't well planned/executed. As only the 2nd owner, mapping the breakers to the power/wiring in corresponding rooms was rough. Half the time, parts of different rooms were on the same circuit, the fridge is not isolated, weird stuff. Enter Slava, I break down the situation as best I can and he gets to work troubleshooting. It's like trying to put a puzzle together by "feel"... you can't see what's behind the walls, just the outlets and the sub panel. After pulling a couple of outlets, he finds the culprit! There was an outlet I upgraded several years ago, with USB ports. I'm an IT guy and thought "cool" at the time, but rarely used it, was mainly for friend's/family to charge their phones when visiting. Never had a problem with it; but apparently it was too tight a fit and the side connections made contact with the metal outlet box acting as ground (probably when the house cleaner was plugging/unplugging the vacuum) and shorted out (see the singed outlet pics). Glad they didn't get "shocked" or start a fire in the walls... Slava confirmed it was wired up correctly, it was just a bit too big and rubbed metal to metal, hot wire crossed ground and the circuit breaker did what it was supposed to. WHEW!! Slava replaced the outlet and put all the others back to original configuration. da Service: Posted a message on the YELP! only to FUSE... they were really good the 1st time out, so they got the exclusive request. Anna responded in like 2 minutes... was able to schedule me in couple of hours, and work was done mid-afternoon. These guys were great. I recently bought a condo that had a cheap, probably 70's, over the range fan, and limited counterspace. Solution was an over the range microwave. But that required more electrical current than the kitchen could handle on top of existing uses. So I needed a whole new circuit to power it. That required a new breaker in the electrical box, and running a new line from the breaker to the kitchen, including opening up parts of a living room wall to feed the wire. The Fuse technician worked quickly and efficiently, made the minimum cuts necessary, and then taped and mudded the drywall pieces back in place. THEN they came back a few days later and re-textured the patches to match the wall. All I had to do was paint and it looks like the wall was never touched. And all this was for a VERY reasonable price. read more

I don't know why this business has 4.9 stars, they price gouge their customers. Last night, my gas oven wouldn't heat up. I went online and researched the likely cause of the problem and figured out I needed a new oven igniter. Fuse responded first to my request for help on Yelp. Dmytro came out and was very pleasant. He confirmed that I needed a new igniter. Things went well until they emailed me the estimate and tried to charge me $396.75. The estimate noted that they were giving me a $95 discount. The estimate was designed to look like they were offering me a great savings on a bill that would've been almost $500. The estimate was complete bull%#&*. I told Dmytro that I had researched online what it would cost to replace an oven igniter in the San Francisco Bay Area. AI said the repair should be between $250 and $300. Dmytro told me that the Internet was wrong. As soon as Dmytro left, I went back to Yelp and looked up Appliance Repair shops. I called the first shop that came up on Yelp (TJ's Appliance Repair) I gave the person who answered the phone at TJ's the make, model, and serial number for my stove and told him I needed an oven igniter. I asked him how much it would cost to install it. The price he gave me was $295. Two hours later TJ came to my house and installed the igniter. My oven is as good as new. TJ was very professional, very prompt... and he was honest. In addition to trying to overcharge me $100, Fuse also told me it would take three days to order the part. TJ had 10 oven igniters in his truck. He said it was a very common repair. If you have an appliance that needs repaired, save yourself some time and some cash, call TJ's. The pricing and the service at Fuse is horrible. read more
