I checked this place out on a Tuesday at 6:00PM for a sambo class. Lauren, the manager, gave me a quick introduction to the warmup protocol and then we got into the class. Warmups were about 20-30 minutes and then we got into wrestling with a partner. A guest instructor came in from South America to teach us wrestling skills and some striking. The class was very grueling and tough. I've trained martial arts for a few years and this was probably one of my hardest classes. I inquired for private lessons and was contacted by Coach Sullivan. He gave me a price for which was I thought was very reasonable and decided to go ahead and take him up on his offer and training for ten sessions. When I get there the first time he was very professional , but talked very highly of himself, not very humble at all. For the first session all we did were a few stretching exercises for a full hour. Also, he was training me with someone else at the same time while he had a class going on. This was my first red flag. After my first session I inquired about the next session for which he informed me he will be out of town but to let him know my schedule. To get him to respond is a challenge, but I give him my schedule and we work something out eventually. Second session he was a little late due to illness. I understand illness, but if you're going to be late, I'd appreciate a heads up. I can tell he was not really into it and all we did was more stretching exercises. My private is MINE and it is valuable, but if you need to cancel, I understand. Third session is when we actually did something more than stretching and all that was added was kicking on the bag. It takes a few weeks to get a fourth session due to my vacation time and his schedule, but we finally get something scheduled. Again, he trains me along with someone else. Again, my time that I paid for is shared with someone else. For the fifth time, I arrive early and I waited for 10 extra minutes AFTER the time we were suppose to meet and he's still not there. I check the door and it was locked, so I leave. Coach Sullivan makes NO ATTEMPTS to contact me. I wait for a few days before messaging him telling him we are not a good fit for each other and I requested the remainder of the money I paid for unused sessions. He has NOT responded NOR returned my money. I have hired private coaches throughout the years and every one always respected my time, I learned something new every session, and all my sessions were PRIVATE, not shared with someone else. Communication was great between me and my previous trainers, and if a cancellation had to be made, it was always done ahead of time. For some reason my coach could not make a session due to prior engagements, I was informed beforehand. And none of them were arrogant or talked highly of themselves. Each one of my former coaches were extremely humble and were eager to pass on their knowledge. I could tell Coach Sullivan did not want to be there but his focus was never on me. His sessions were so far spread out, what was the point of going to him. I always met with my former coaches are a weekly basis as they always were given my schedule head of time. If you want private lessons from this man, do not go. You will not learn anything, poor communication skills, and he will more than likely keep your money. read more

This place has been a second home of mine since I was 13 years old. I can't begin to explain how much I have learned from Michael Sullivan and the team at Fusboxe over the last 13 years. No pun intended, this gym packs a punch. You'll get diverse techniques from all types of combat sports with both sport and real life applications. On top of learning all types of combat sports, coach Sullivan takes strength training and conditions just as seriously. So in terms of "amenities" of what you'll have access to here, it doesn't get much better than this. What sets this gym apart from the thousands of other martial arts gyms? An awesome gym to train and and learn new things from ppl are great and willing to help you if your not sure how to do something.

Wide variety of sub specialties in martail arts. Great structured programs for adults and children. They really push you to be your best self, while still aware everyone is learning at different levels. The instructor takes time to explain everything, so no one is left behind, they are also very careful to practice great saftey habits while sparring, grappling and during instruction. I've learned more here in a few months than I did my two years spent at another mma gym. Highly recommend for anyone trying to learn self defense, get healthy, or to get strong. My son wanted to try kickboxing and we walked in the door and knew this was the place to be, there's no other way to explain but it just felt right! My son has an anxiety disorder and the coach made him feel completely comfortable and my sons self esteem has skyrocketed. Because of his first experience I wanted to join myself. Everyone from pro fighters to busy moms can get a workout suited for their needs while developing practical self-defense and/or sport combat skills. The B.O.A. (Body of Armor) program combines strength training, endurance, and fundamental martial arts (Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, Boxing, and submission grappling). It's like crossfit, but with added olympic lifting and combat technique. I've personally lost weight and gained muscle & flexibility. I highly recommend giving it a try. read more
