His resolution was to come back during cooler months or "to go to a different gym" all together.

The coaches, Neil and Denise are awesome! They are friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating, without being too overpowering or intimidating. The gym (old location) was in what looked like a really old apartment building. The space was too small for my own comfort if there were more than say 6 people there working out at a time (Saturdays...augh!), but I am not fond of small spaces with too many people (no one else seemed to be bothered by this, so it is just a personal opinion). There is plenty of, as well as a good variety of equipment to workout with. The coaches incorporate standard (well-known) weigh-lifting moves along with some new moves that you can definitely feel working (I love learning new fitness moves to keep the workouts interesting). I did feel we kept with pretty much the same workouts each week, though, and just tweaked it by increasing weight/resistance, so I wish that had changed more often. That being said, it WAS just a 6-week program I was in, so it probably wasn't long enough to change the workout much. I do remember Denise explaining in the beginning why they do it that way, but just can't remember the reason right now. (On the new location at Kearney St.): They opened their doors this past Friday, so I used it twice. It is a perfect size now, with an extra room to use if you need more space. It is still in the process of getting all the equipment there..kettlebells, maybe some weight racks, etc, but it looks promising. I would highly recommend giving this gym a try! You won't be disappointed! Highly Satisfied, Bobbi Kusk PS: I did reach my goal in the 6 weeks...YAAAYYY!!! The position of the two bench presses and incline bench are pushed up against the wall on the East side of the building. Right where the steel reinforcement beams are located which leaves NO space to safely spot your partner without hitting your head or back on one of those beams. You cannot even get behind them without crawling around the weights or beams themselves. This is incredibly dangerous and a major safety issue. Whomever designed the layout of the weight room does not appear to have experience with weight training. The nautilus machines and free weight areas should probably be switched. There is nowhere to safely stretch (people do it under the stairs) or do ab exercises, box jumps, etc. Someone, with knowledge of weight training, should redesign the space for efficiency and safety.

When the contract came by email I found they put me on a month-to-month contract, tacked on a hidden fee of $79 (not mentioned by the associate at all), and jacked the monthly rate up to $17.98 because I used a credit card. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made for my overall health, and having a personal trainer has kept me accountable for sticking to a regular weightlifting routine. When that trainer relocated to another state, it was a huge priority for me to find another trainer I could trust and who could help me stay motivated. Enter Scott, who I cold-called after having noticed his gym in the neighborhood. I've been working him Scott and Will now for a few months and am very happy that I gave Scott Beall Fit a chance. I'd always been a little wary of barbell-based exercises, and learning these new (to me) techniques from Scott has been interesting and confidence-building. I'm definitely stronger. I'd never done a deadlift in my life until this spring, and last week I lifted 275 pounds off the ground! I also appreciate Scott's focus on teaching and reinforcing good form. Even when lifting very (for me) heavy weights, I have felt safe from injury under his instruction and supervision. And maybe just as importantly as all that, Scott and Will are fun to hang out with between sets. Research all the benefits strength training has on your health and longevity, and then give Scott a call!

I'm in my 40s and hadn't been my healthiest self since the pandemic, plus I had very little experience lifting. Weight racks always felt overwhelming and intimidating, so I knew I wanted someone local I could trust for one-on-one coaching. Working with Will through Scott Beall's program has been exactly what I needed. Will is patient, observant, and incredibly encouraging -- he meets you where you are but still pushes you to grow. He explains form in a way that actually sticks, pays close attention to safety, and creates an environment that feels supportive rather than intimidating, which mattered a lot as a beginner. After just a few months, I feel noticeably stronger, I'm seeing real gains, and I'm doing lifts I never thought I'd feel comfortable attempting. It's shifted how I think about my long-term health and made the gym feel far more accessible overall. If you're looking to build strength, lose weight, and learn something new in a supportive environment, I highly recommend talking to Scott and working with Will -- especially for women 40+ who want to feel more powerful and confident in their bodies.
