This review is for the old location in Stapleton, since the move to the new location didn't happen…read moreuntil just a couple days before the end of my 6-Week Challenge. The coaches, Neil and Denise are awesome! They are friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating, without being too overpowering or intimidating. The gym (old location) was in what looked like a really old apartment building. The space was too small for my own comfort if there were more than say 6 people there working out at a time (Saturdays...augh!), but I am not fond of small spaces with too many people (no one else seemed to be bothered by this, so it is just a personal opinion). There is plenty of, as well as a good variety of equipment to workout with. The coaches incorporate standard (well-known) weigh-lifting moves along with some new moves that you can definitely feel working (I love learning new fitness moves to keep the workouts interesting). I did feel we kept with pretty much the same workouts each week, though, and just tweaked it by increasing weight/resistance, so I wish that had changed more often. That being said, it WAS just a 6-week program I was in, so it probably wasn't long enough to change the workout much. I do remember Denise explaining in the beginning why they do it that way, but just can't remember the reason right now. (On the new location at Kearney St.): They opened their doors this past Friday, so I used it twice. It is a perfect size now, with an extra room to use if you need more space. It is still in the process of getting all the equipment there..kettlebells, maybe some weight racks, etc, but it looks promising. I would highly recommend giving this gym a try! You won't be disappointed! Highly Satisfied, Bobbi Kusk PS: I did reach my goal in the 6 weeks...YAAAYYY!!! I'm down 12 pounds and 8% bodyfat, and plan to stick to the diet and exercise (though more outdoor fitness now that the weather is perfect for it‍‍‍‍ Thank you Lodestone Strength (Neil & Denise)! ‍

This review is specifically for the layout of the weights on the second floor. More specifically,…read morethe location of the bench press (2) and incline bench (1). The position of the two bench presses and incline bench are pushed up against the wall on the East side of the building. Right where the steel reinforcement beams are located which leaves NO space to safely spot your partner without hitting your head or back on one of those beams. You cannot even get behind them without crawling around the weights or beams themselves. This is incredibly dangerous and a major safety issue. Whomever designed the layout of the weight room does not appear to have experience with weight training. The nautilus machines and free weight areas should probably be switched. There is nowhere to safely stretch (people do it under the stairs) or do ab exercises, box jumps, etc. Someone, with knowledge of weight training, should redesign the space for efficiency and safety.

This facility has a wall of huge windows with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's kept up & clean. There's always plenty of parking...there are even charging stations for electric vehicles. Note, membership is free for Denver residents that are 60+ & those ages 5-18. With membership you have access to all 30 Denver rec centers & pools. I regularly go to two classes - one is a Cardio & Strength class & the other is Tai Chi, both are drop-in. The instructors are fun & very knowledgeable. Christine teaches the cardio class & always demonstrates modifications, so it's perfect for all levels of fitness. Maureen is very well versed in Tai Chi as well. This is a fantastic center with fabulous instructors.

Wow! This is the best gym I have ever been to. I was a member of lifetime athletics in Maryland and…read moreI felt that was the best gym but when I visited DAC I was blown away by their amazing facility. First of all, DAC is huge. So getting around could be a little complex if your visiting for the first time. As I am a huge fan of basketball and swimming I was looking for these two facilities to start of with. When I entered the basketball court I was awestruck by how well maintained their court is. It's a full NBA size court and they have plenty of basketballs to choose from. They also have towels and water fountains in the facility. Just amazing! Next stop was the swimming pool. Nice heated pool with 8 lanes and jacuzzi, sauna and steam room next to it in the same facility makes it spectacular and extremely accessible. By this time I was already convinced that this was the best gym I have ever seen. I continued my tour by visiting squash and racquetball courts. There were plenty of players playing at very high level. They also have a viewing area from where you can watch these players play squash. It was fun. I also visited pool tables, shuffle board, bowling alley and workout area. Pool tables are very well maintained and they have some very good quality sticks. I got an opportunity to play with regular players and by the end our game they were impressed by my skills and invited me to play with them on a regular basis. I wish I could but unfortunately I am just visiting for a couple of more days. We then headed to the bowling alley. It was empty so we used a couple of lanes. We also grabbed some beer and snacks while bowling. Only negative is that it's hard to find 10lbs balls which is my favorite weight. Nevertheless I used a 11lbs ball and I still had an amazing time. They have couple of men's locker rooms. Men's locker is very well designed with lockers in the wide area and shower in the middle so that the shower is easily accessible to everyone in the locker. They also have steam and sauna in the men's locker. They have open showers with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lots of towels right across the shower area. What amazed me the most about the men's locker is their additional supplies such as body cream, oils, shaving foam, blades etc. If you're a member here you don't have to carry anything other than your gym wear. I am truly amazed by their facility. It does not end here. To add to their amazing gym facility, they also have party space and a nice roof top where they host parties on a regular basis. They also have free beer Tuesday's between 5pm to 7pm. So with all such amazing facilities you must be wondering about their monthly membership fee. Let me tell you that it's not cheap. The base price is around $260 which is a bomb for lower to middle class families. You can buy lockers for an additional cost and parking is free only for first couple of hours. They have a cafeteria where you can order food and drinks. Here is a little tip for all the Yelpers, if you check in here using Yelp app on your phone they give you a free small smoothie. So definitely try it out. Well, I definitely think their facility is amazing.

Kids are constantly in there tearing all over uncontrollably as their parents down cocktails to deal, or NOT deal or discipline them. It is dangerous and disrespectful to the servers to have to work in such chaos. It is inappropriate and probably illegal for small kids to even be allowed in there let alone have ZERO rules for the kids AND the parents to adhere to. It sucks for other patrons and is completely unfair. Turn the snack bar into a family eating area. Give us back our Pub!!! Thanks for listening.

I'm in my 40s and hadn't been my healthiest self since the pandemic, plus I had very little experience lifting. Weight racks always felt overwhelming and intimidating, so I knew I wanted someone local I could trust for one-on-one coaching. Working with Will through Scott Beall's program has been exactly what I needed. Will is patient, observant, and incredibly encouraging -- he meets you where you are but still pushes you to grow. He explains form in a way that actually sticks, pays close attention to safety, and creates an environment that feels supportive rather than intimidating, which mattered a lot as a beginner. After just a few months, I feel noticeably stronger, I'm seeing real gains, and I'm doing lifts I never thought I'd feel comfortable attempting. It's shifted how I think about my long-term health and made the gym feel far more accessible overall. If you're looking to build strength, lose weight, and learn something new in a supportive environment, I highly recommend talking to Scott and working with Will -- especially for women 40+ who want to feel more powerful and confident in their bodies.
