When I bought a new house and began shopping for furniture, Furniture Row was one of my first stops. I had recently purchased a mattress from the attached Denver Mattress, so I decided to look at Furniture Row for additional furniture. We found a couch we liked that was on clearance because it had been discontinued. The clearance price was around $2,200, but because they were running customer appreciation weekend promotions, we asked what the best price would be. The salesman told us to make an offer and said he would take it to his manager. We explained that we did not want to make an unreasonable offer and asked if the manager could simply provide their best price. Instead, the salesman repeatedly pushed us to give him a number. When we finally offered $1,200, he responded with "that's kind of low" in a dismissive and unprofessional tone. That was frustrating, especially since we had already made it clear that we did not want to lowball them. He later came back and said the lowest they could do was $1,950. Since we had been told to make an offer, we believed there was room for negotiation. However, when we mentioned that we had found a very similar couch elsewhere for around $1,500, he told us to go buy that one. The tone and delivery came across as rude and made us feel like our business was not valued. The furniture itself appears to be good quality, but the customer service experience was disappointing enough that I do not plan to return. A large furniture purchase should feel professional, helpful, and customer-focused, not uncomfortable or dismissive. From start to finish, this was an amazing experience. Our salesperson (I wish I could remember his name, but I believe it started with a 'Z') was so helpful. We purchased a bed and dresser. It was delivered and set up today. The whole experience and communication was flawless. The new furniture looks great and is quality and we got a great deal. Had a bad experience with another furniture store in town, Ashley, and started shopping at WD Wilkins (whom are amazing, btw). They were HONEST and told me they couldn't get what I needed on time so I decided to look around. Went to Furniture Row and I was promised furniture what I ordered would arrive middle of December (week and a half before Christmas). Here we are 2 days after and every time we call the arrival day gets farther and farther away. Tired of all the lying salespeople, Norman in this case, that lie to make a sale. Had to rush last minute and find some gifts for our 8 year old when all she wanted was a new bedroom. Yet another furniture store to avoid in Lubbock. read more

It has now going on 13 weeks since I ordered my sofas and I still don't have them. Called the manufacturer and they have still not been made. Apparently they ran out of material. No offer to alter the order and get furniture sooner. Can't cancel the order so I am paying for something I don't have and have no clue of when it will come. Family Thanksgiving and Christmas plans have had to be canceled. read more

This company is terrible! I don't even know where to start but what I will say that I ordered several pieces of furniture, among them beds back in September and I have yet to receive my furniture. Three days before Christmas and my children and my friends have no beds to sleep on. In addition to not receiving my items, I kept getting bounced around from employee to employee and kept getting the runaround from management and these people are nuts and a nightmare to work with. I would never ever recommend buying furniture from them or even checking out their selection because from start to finish this experience has been horrible. If I could give anything less than one star I would because these people are not even worth the one star I gave them. read more

My husband and I purchased a new livingroom set (Sofa and Loveseat) from Sofa Mart. Ronda Gray is a fantastic salesman! The sofa set that we liked was not available in the showroom to look at. We ended up purchasing it on good faith. She told us we could try it in the warehouse before it was delivered. If we didn't like it we could get a refund or exchange. Several days before it was scheduled for delivery Ronda and the man who works in the warehouse made sure that one of the pieces was set up so that we could try it out before we committed. We loved it and it was delivered a few days later! I would not hesitate to go back to Sofa Mart and to use Ronda as a salesman. She is extremely knowledgeable and isn't pushy like so many others we've encountered. read more

We visited Bob Mills and it was consumerism overload. Sofa Mart was a more pleasant shopping experience. The selection is huge so it took us two days to decide. We ended up buying an item that was on clearance because it was a special order that was measured incorrectly. The style is still in the catalog, so it's a pretty new piece. Our saleman was VERY nice. He even negotiated the pricing with my husband (probably because he knew we'd come back for the additional sectional pieces at a later date). So far this couch is COMFORTABLE, I fell asleep on it last night. We live 50 miles from Lubbock, so we didn't have it delivered. We took it with us the day we bought it. Be sure to BRING YOUR OWN TIE DOWNS. All they can do is load it in the truck, tying it down is up to you. read more

An amazing furniture store. The staff here make it so. Hats off to Rhonda especially. Best store in Lubbock for fair prices and wide variety. The only thing I caution you about is the "y-buy" payment option...it is a rip off. It is not a part of Sofa Mart but rather an independent rent to buy program that is available. I recently bought a dining table and server set from Oak Express. I had just gone in to get prices, but the salesman informed me they had layaway! I jumped on the opportunity since hardly anyone has layaway anymore. They say its for six months, but he told me that as long as you keep making regular payments, they won't cut you out after that time. It took me about eight months to pay off my set, but I'm so glad I did. The quality is amazing, delivery was fast, and the people are very helpful. If you want beautiful, quality furniture but can't afford to get it out of pocket, I highly recommend Furniture Row and Oak Express. read more
