We worked with Jay, great guy. Highly educated on anything pertaining to furniture. Also didn't press us on anything which was nice. In addition, the delivery process was exceptional. Finally, Shout out to Thad & Chris (the muscle) for getting our sectional off the box truck, into our living room & pieced together literally in under 15 minutes. Give those boys a raise!

Distinctive Home Furnishings is located near Menards, and I hope they're here to stay. After I received my tax refund, I decided to take a look around. My old Flexsteel had popped a spring, and because it was kind of beat up, I thought a new recliner might make a nice treat. They had some BEAUTIFUL floor models, and had catalogs showing almost any variation you could think of if you wanted a different color or material. In some cases, they had less expensive options if you don't have a premium brand budget. After running into some health issues, I had to take a new recliner off my wish list. However, being an authorized Flexsteel dealer, they were able to assist me with the repair of my old recliner. Because Flexsteel offers a lifetime warranty on their springs, I was able to breathe new life into my old recliner, and my back has thanked me! If you have a repair done, just be ready to wait. Those things take time, but totally worth the wait. I'm grateful for their help, and when I have a recliner budget, I'm heading back as fast as I can to get one!

Don't buy a mail-order mattress until you check out Thompson Furniture…read more My wife and I were planning on ordering one of those "bed in a box" foam mattresses you see advertised but decided to drive out to Thompson's and see what they had before we did. Sure glad we did. They had an amazingly wide selection of mattresses including memory foam, coil spring and hybrid types at a variety of price points. I assumed the mail-order mattresses would be cheaper, but not so. Thompson's had better prices, more selection, and quicker delivery than those mail-order mattresses. Plus you get to actually try before you buy as all the mattresses are in the store to test out. Very relaxed, no pressure atmosphere too and Mark is very knowledgeable about each mattress he sells. Needless to say, we purchased our mattress at Thompson's and in fact bought another one for our guest room too.

Finally got help when we said out loud "Maybe we can find someone who works here". No real help was offered. We asked about bedroom furniture and were told that they mostly work with designers. Oh, really? We looked at area rugs and window coverings, but again, no assistance was offered even though there was absolutely no one else in the store. So...maybe we don't look like we can afford their furnishings? Maybe we aren't their type of customer? We definitely felt like they had no time for us. We took our business across town, purchased everything we wanted at Distinctive Furnishings and even ordered some of the exact items we saw at Etc from Distinctive Furnishings at a lower price point. Beautiful store, but the customer service is sorely lacking. We won't sully their store with our presence again.

At Home! The place with so many many things you might put in your home! Pillows, furniture, lights,…read morelamps, mirrors, rugs, and so much more! I didn't mean to sound like a commercial. I just purchased a chair last night and while I was very impressed with a number of things, there was one teeny tiny little detail that stuck that made me knock off a star. The aforementioned chair was one that was in stock, but finding the display was very difficult. I asked a couple of employees about chairs on display and was given the rote answer of "We don't have room to display everything". At one point I looked at how many chairs fit in a bay and found one area that could fit 5 more chairs, so that answer did NOT sit will with me. That's the only reason I'm knocking off a star. What made it an otherwise 5 star visit? The variety, for one thing. On this visit they were just filled to the brim with stuff. As I mentioned, I found a chair I liked, based on the picture on the box. As I was walking around, the staff were dealing with a pretty major ceiling leak that hit during a rain storm. One guy who had been helping there stopped what he was doing to help me. I don't mean he just gave me a quick answer to a question, he pulled a chair down I kind of liked, and helped me on my search for the one I REALLY liked. He eventually found it on display, and helped me get it down. We talked for a bit, and I helped him get it back up on the shelf. In the end, the customer service from this guy was great! Later, when I came back to buy the chair I wanted, the people on duty were very proactive in helping me. One lady found a flat cart, and the lady at checkout made sure I had help loading it. Having bought furniture online, this was totally worth the money. It's comfy and stylish, and feels like it should last. If you're thinking about a chair or loveseat and are on a budget, avoid those online shops and make sure to check this place out first!
