This is a huge antique mall in downtown Bloomington - very cool place and absolutely GINOURMOUS. Prices are actually very reasonable and some of the sellers offer 20-50% discounts. I didn't end up purchasing anything but I enjoyed walking around and looking at everything they offered. read more

Wow this place is huge and has all kinds of things. I love antiquing and found some cool stuff here. Prices are a little high. Things I know I could get for less elsewhere but it's always fun to see what is considered vintage. There are also some booths with crafts for sale. 3 floors of goodies here. Parking isn't great, there are a few spots next to the building but there is a place for overflow parking if that is full. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Last experience was pretty bad! After spending an hour on the top floor, I was told my handbag was too large and I would have to leave it at the front counter. They must have thought I would drop a $15.00 item in my purse and didn't trust me, but yet they wanted me to hand over my $300.00 leather handbag with credit cards, ID.s and cash to their employees. Just told them I wasn't giving them my purse. How insulting!! Get to know your customers. We were 80 and 76 years old. Not too much of a risk. We usually send money in Bloomington and Edinburgh, but not any more. Left and won't be back. Spent our money at the Franklin and Nashville stores. A great place to check out while you're in Bloomington. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the place was decently busy. Prices vary because of the numerous vendors. Antique and vintage items, but lots of new hand crafted items as well. Three very full floors to explore. Friendly staff. No oversized purses or backpacks allowed while shopping. read more

Worst customer service. My experience was ruined by a young woman who was working this afternoon. We asked for the price on an item. She kept repeating the same thing that they can't sell an item without asking the vendor the price which we understood, and when we asked if they could call us once they got the price she insisted we were being difficult and said she couldn't help us if we didn't help her (aka remember where we found the item in a giant store with three stories that we spent an hour and a half in). She was demeaning, condescending and rude. Made me regret spending any money there. read more

Monster of a building so plan on spending a bit of time. 3 glorious floors of mainly antiques. Visited with my better half. If you've read any of my reviews you know I am so highly antiques illiterate - it is horrible. My better half knows antiques so admirably well. So I happily tag along and hope he doesn't quiz me as he occasionally does with "What's this?" - my standard answer is "carnival glass" (no matter what it is and "pie safe" for any furniture ) but God love him, he still keeps trying to educate me on antiques. Sometimes he has me "bird dog" and I look for specific things for him. All in all, it is fun and I do learn something new each time. We both do like cool old buildings and wow this one is cool. Three floors of "stuff" - Nicely organized. They do have an elevator by the washrooms on the main floor if you'd rather not do stairs (they aren't bad at all). Washrooms are clean (one stall out of tp when we were there but still clean). Parking is a tad but wonky but i think you can park down the street and walk. There is an incredibly amount of stuff. So he looked through three floors of merchandise. I found plenty to intrigue myself. He made several purchases and was quite pleased with our visit. Seemed be a lot of college "kids" in the place which made my heart happy to see younger people happily looking at "old stuff". Overall - a home run visit. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to this antique mall. It has three floors of booths for visitors to inspect with a stairwell near the entrance. For those with mobility issues, there is a ramp outside to reach the entrance and an elevator about midway towards the back on the east side of the showroom. Note that some of the booths are cramped with their own layouts, so getting around inside them may be challenging, especially if someone else is in the booth. After using some metered street parking nearby, I entered and saw the checkout counter to my left. I decided to start on the bottom floor and work my way around each floor before moving onto the next. I wasn't looking for anything specific, but I did notice some very nice quality furniture, some musical instruments (especially electric guitars), lots of books and vinyl too. Towards the back, there were some weapons locked up, but for sale. Lots of home decor items and some collectibles, but most of those were hit or miss: I didn't see any great grouping of items. Generally, I was free to browse at my own pace without much interaction with vendors or staff. During the week, the crowd was small, so I was able to spend as much time looking as I wanted and then headed on. Overall, a nice representation of items to look at. This mall is set up in booths from individual sellers. While I didn't come home with anything, it was nice to browse the selection and see what was available. I was intrigued by the taxidermy display on one of the floors--definitely not something I see every day! read more

Really diverse merchandise in the flea market format. Sometimes prices can be negotiated if you're diligent, and the staff aren't too busy to contact kiosk renters. This is a very large place and you might find gems here. There's less actual dodgy junk than you'll find in other locations, and the furniture selection can sometimes be really good. I stroll through a couple of times a year, and it takes a while because it's a huge place and there is a reasonable churn of merchandise. It's less fleas than one might expect. read more

A very unique antique mall located in downtown Bloomington. Overall it's set up like your average antique mall, but the building this one is in makes it unique. Usually these malls are in big wide open warehouse type spaces. This one it seems, is in either a huge renovated house, or possibly an old factory. Whatever it was, it made for a unique appearance as an antique mall. There was a lot of good stuff in here. Pricing wasn't crazy, there were definite good deals to be found. I appreciated all the music stuff they had..from vinyl to cds to cassette tapes, as well as actual instruments and old school memorabilia. Other booths here had crazy retro stuff. Stuff I hadn't seen since I was a kid. Stuff it looked like my parents probably hadn't seen since they were kids. It was all pretty cool and interesting. This place has three levels: the main floor, upstairs, and then in the basement. The basement was slightly creepy but not too bad. On a scale of antique malls that I've been to I would put this on the better side. If I lived in the area I have a feeling I would check it out on a regular basis. read more

Of all the antique malls I've visited, Bloomington Antique Mall is one of the nicest. I didn't get a creepy or old lady vibe that a lot of similar places give off (even if those porcelain dolls were giving me the side eye). This place is HUGE. With over 600 stalls, I don't think you could see everything! We easily killed an hour or so walking around. In terms of what's offered, it's exactly what you'd expect from an antique mall. Some hidden gems, some overpriced "crap on a stick," as my dad would say. I was caught off guard at a few modern things, like a hand towel with a screen printed "#blessed." Like what? They're back! The Historic Bloomington Antique Mall is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to visit in Bloomington, and I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't close again. Repurpose. Recycle. Rediscover. When I'm looking for something retro, vintage, fun, or just really out there and the Goodwill doesn't cut it, I get wise and get to the antique mall. Discovering a buried treasure that has been long lost, and reclaiming it is so awesome. If you're really nerdy like me, it's the perfect place to visit on your honeymoon. That's right; Rob and I visited the Bloomington Antique Mall during our honeymoon in Brown County this month. We were on the lookout for something to bring back to Indy as Mr & Mrs *blush*. Build in 1900, it was originally the John R. Figg Wholesale Grocery Company and became an antique store in 1987. Now, the historic Tom Taylor building, located in downtown Bloomington, has been restored to its former glory of three floors and 24,000 sq. ft. of historic awesomeness. Treasures, novelties, glitz, glitter, clothing, furniture, and much more! It's that old general store feel with the name boldly painted on the exterior brick. The floors are all hardwood, and the natural light just flows through the whole store. And for better browsing pleasure, they have carts and baskets for customers. Rob found an old dresser that was in good shape for $230, but we didn't have any way to get it home. Bummer. There's a lot of great furniture here, and I happened to notice lots of Depression Glass (pink, green, blue, orange) that I relentlessly covet. With the crazy demand for vintage and retro items, this is the place to find what you're looking for from just about any time period for the right price. Get out there and start digging! read more

Three floors of awesomeness! There is such a huge selection and variation of items. Unfortunately I didn't find what I was looking for, but I enjoyed looking around the three floors of antiques. Lots of jewelry, collectibles, furniture, toys, decor, tools, vintage clothes, and figurines. There was such an assortment of items. I walked through all the booths at a semi-fast pace and it took about an hour. I would say to allow 1-2 hours depending on your pace. There was very little junk and flea market-type items. Prices were pretty fair as well. Some booths were even offering 70% off. read more

The Bloomington Antique Mall is pleasant destination. It doesn't have the overwhelming aroma of dust and age that some antique shops have, but it also doesn't feel sterile either, like some antique malls that are in newer buildings. The location itself is an antique, and as such has personality and character, right down to the creaking of the floors. The upper two levels are supposedly antiques only (although there are exceptions), but the real fun to be had at this mall is in the basement. The basement has more of a vintage theme, but there are no restrictions on the age of the merchandise, meaning that current items are also allowed. It's like a blend of Vintage Vogue and a regular thrift store (but without all the household electronics and expired snack food). Many of the vendors have a specialty; there are several who predominately sell records, one large booth that offers a colorful selection of vintage toys, clothes, and kitchenware, and one that stocks relatively current but unopened action figures, etc. Even if you're not in the market to buy, it's still a fun store to wander through when you have time. It's relatively busy, so it's not going to be one those uncomfortable experiences where you are the only shopper in the store while old people watch you and question why you don't want to buy their VHS tapes. It's right in downtown Bloomington, and not out of the way at all. If you have time to kill, it's worth a stop. read more

Postcards are my favorite, and there are lots of old postcards of IU, the US, and the whole world. An amazing selection of great items! This was my first time in any antique mall and I really enjoyed it! I spent an hour or more just walking around. There were a lot of great looking cast iron cooking items, which I love, but they were a little expensive for me. I really wanted that cast iron waffle iron, but couldn't justify the $65. I did however get my first ever vinyl record, Elvis A Legendary Performer Vol. 1 new and sealed for $15! I'm pumped about that! The majority of the items were great quality and didn't look neat up, as I expected going into an antique mall. I will have to stop in some more antique malls to see if they live up to the grandiosity and quality of the Bloomington Antique Mall! read more

I didn't have praise team practice today so Tony and I took advantage of having a day together and headed here, a place we have never been before. We love flea markets and some antique malls. This is a very nice mall, but the main floor and the 2nd floor are very high priced. I don't know a whole lot, but I know quite a bit. My brother is an auctioneer and I have learned from him. He has been in antiques since he was a kid. (now he is an antique) hahahaha Ok, back to being serious! The basement of the mall is more our style. Things down there are much more affordable. Floors 1 and 2 have items that run from $50.00 to $$500.00 and some are more. Down in the basement you can purchase some pretty cool things from $2.00 to $40.00. Of course you might see something that is more or less on any of the floors, but I have given you a general idea of what to expect. On Saturday mornings there is an outdoor market across the street with several vendors and musicians. That was a treat! read more

Very good antique mall. Upstairs, main floor, and a basement. We go here a few times a year. Always quality items, and booths often have sales. Staff always friendly. Last time we went there were a few empty booths so was wondering if they raised the rental prices, but usually when we have gone all the booths are full. I was pleasantly surprised to find an antique store to this scale in Bloomington. I'm a fan! With three floors, there's so much to explore but it's not as overwhelming as some antique stores can be (you know, the ones that are so big you never walk the whole place). Pretty similar to many other antique stores, the set-up is that it's essentially booths/areas where people price their own items. This, sometimes you will find some that are a bit higher priced but overall the prices are fair and there are deals to be found! With everything divided by booth #/seller, each part of the store really has its own personality. Parking: There's a lot of parking nearby - street (metered), lot, & garage spots within a short walking distance. It's right off the B-Line so you can hop on a bike to get here too! read more

I whiled away an enjoyable hour here. It's clean and pleasant. I felt it was overpriced, but perhaps I'm used to southern Virginia prices.

This was an old grocery store building and is one of the more historic and interesting buildings in Bloomington. There was an antique store here for years that closed, and then another antique mall (near the outlet mall on I-65) decided to open up here. I'm not sure how to describe it. It's an alright place. It is large, though I rarely find anything to actually purchase here. There are a lot of newer items and stuff from the 70's that are NOT antique. Vintage...MAYBE, but definitely not antique. Those items that are antique are usually fairly priced. They do have a good amount of antique furniture, but nothing of super high quality. It's a fun store to dig around, but i'm getting disappointed that I so rarely find something to buy, even if I can't afford it. It's gone downhill a bit in the last 2 years. It isn't as stuffed with true antiques and lost-and-found treasures as it was. It seems to be leaning more towards newer collectibles, "shabby-chic" decorations, fake antiques, and vintage items. read more

And a lot of 80's kitsch items...if I'm not collecting social security yet, I don't want to see stuff from my childhood in an antique mall. Best in class antique mall. So many vendors, so many time periods, so much to cover! If you like antiques and this is your first visit, allow at least 3 hours to get through this place. I like that there are also some local artists that have some re-purposed items, in addition to the antiques. There is an item for every budget. They also offer shopping baskets which is handy. A couple cute MCM kitsch booths, but way too many new items..Seriously collectible figurines & teddy bears at the antique mall? The building is gorgeous..reminds me of Midland with the exposed brick walls. The basement was my favourite w/ the majority of kitschy MCM stuff down there.
