This store is a hybrid of antique store, gift store and a flea market booth. It has a wide variety of items and many different rooms of them. The shopkeeper found a glass dish with a lid made in green glass. It works perfectly for my use and looks antique which is not what I was originally looking for but makes it even better. This store, Candy Kitchen and the Come N Get It restaurant have really opened my eyes to the downtown area of Martinsville. I'm sure they are more discoveries waiting for me.

This is one of my favorite shops in Brown county, Indiana. Of course there are a lot of those shops…read morethat are my favorite. This cute little shop has a lot of gifts. There were a lot of cute little jewelry for women, my friend and I. We visited this store and beaches could not get enough of their necklaces in every of their earrings for kids and nice cardigans and a lot of other selection of products. The customer service was amazing. They explained everything that we needed to know. They also had a locally made hand lotions with awesome different smells. I was itching to buy all of them but finally didn't do that. Their price range starts from moderate.

It is still in the family of founding owners Bill and Marielle Jockey as their daughter now owns it. Open year-round, The Totem Post offers authentic Native American jewelry, crafts, moccasins, knives, ethnic gifts, silver, and copper jewelry. The Totem Post folks are without fail friendly and I'm pleased to report that the shop itself is surprisingly wheelchair friendly (not always true in Nashville). A lot of the items at The Totem Post have a sense of spirituality to them and the times I've visited it has felt like a bit of a respite to even enter the establishment. The store has a bit of a fun origin story. The Jockeys were dancers on the SS. Uruguay who visited family in Indianapolis. During the visit, they were taken to Nashville, Indiana. Not long after, the leathercraft establishment went up for sale - The Jockeys moved forward and bought the place and quickly began establishing themselves among Native American and South American communities so they could carry high quality yet affordable items. While Nashville has certainly grown larger than those five shops from 1952, The Totem Post remains a local favorite and a tourist destination. I seldom, if ever, visit Nashville without a stop here.

For instance, I found some "Melissa & Doug" toys and ended up buying one for an upcoming birthday present. It was a rug with a race track laid out on it and it came with four race cars. I found this concerning considering the store is a non-profit utilizing donations in order to accommodate the needy in the community. I found the conduct I observed disturbing. It literally breaks your heart to see less fortunate people treated in this manner especially from a facility that advertises it exists for the purpose of alleviating the suffering and financial hardship.
