Hayward is an underdog city - and this is such a unique space. If I was the mayor of Hayward I would shine a light on this place as I think its an important piece of the city. I live just 2 blocks away and have never gotten any note on my front door or advertisement or coupon. I think that is a shame. If I was head of marketing for this business I would place a flyer under every door mat in a 5 or 10 block radius. This is a missed opportunity for core customers. There are new high rise buildings also popping up - a huge senior building - why not a special flyer offering seniors discounts if they show up for an early bird dinner? Often times you can also tell if kids live in any given home in the neighborhood. There are kiddie pools, tiny shoes left out front, bikes thrown around in the front yard - these homes should be targeted even more aggressively with fliers and some sort of incentive to come in. Another huge problem with this place is the lack of emphasis on ease of 'searchability' of the place. I had lived so close since 2016 and had not known about the place until maybe 2020 during the pandemic. How is that possible? It's all about not knowing this is an arcade. Sector 19 doesn't mean anything to me. It should be called 'Sector 19 Arcade' so that people can find it with a Google or Waze search. The arcade is clean and bright and fun for little kids. Its a safe place too - where parents can hang outside more in the restaurant part and not worry they wandered off - there is only one way out. The arcade needs to be front and center - this is why people come. Pizza House or Susie Qs have no competition in this arena.... so lean in on this. I will say that a Susie Qs has an edge with food quality - so again, more reason to make the family friendly atmosphere the center of attention.

We arrived 15 min early to get situated, we paid for a separate room to put our personal belongings in and waited until we were called to the briefing room. We had around a group of 25+ people so our session only included our own group. We got instructions in the briefing room and was off putting our gear on. It was a free for all style of play, everyone player for themselves. I was surprised to see how big the room was and the also had second story which adds another dynamic during the play. You can shoot off mirrors to ricochet to hit sensors on the other players. It was quite engaging and a ton of fun. Our girls are ages 7 and 9 and they got a hang of how to play right away. Surprisingly, the parents had just as much fun, if not more! The session lasted around 15-20 minutes if I had to estimate and it was definitely enough time to enjoy. The biggest surprise was how much of a workout it was. Every parent mentioned that they were sweating and got a good workout in. They recognize every player including the top 3 scores at the end. You can purchase by session - we decided to do 2 and I think it was the perfect amount. After our first session, there was a group in between to give us a much needed break and we went back in. I recommend coming here with your kids for a family event or even a group event. I am planning to look at birthday party options for my kids bday party later this year. You can pre register online and just check in upon arrival. You're immediately assigned a host to guide you through the event. In the beginning the process was a bit confusing but it all got sorted out by the time the race began. All drivers got a safety instruction. Then guided to 2 guys to help with helmet fitting. Birthday girl was girl in line as cars weee assigned to everyone in the party. There is a place to sit and watch the racers doing their laps. The 1st lap took some getting used to. But since it was a private track time for the party, there were no unnecessary public interactions crashing cars into each other. Safety first which I really appreciated. The girls had a complete blast once they figured out how the cars drove. There was a short 20 min break in between laps where they were given drink cards and game cards to use $10 ea. The second lap was the one that counts and who won 1st 2nd 3rd place. In the end everyone received a certificate and got to stand on the podium for pics. We brought our own cake. K1 provided the sliders and pretzel dogs and utensils plates. The party section was spacious and clean. Loved the decor. Great for older kids and adults as some of the parents, kids at heart, had to refrain from joining in on the party. Many of the kids weren't able to use their game card as we ran out of time. What impressed me the most was that they offered us time to set up before the event started. When we arrived, the place was clean and ready, making it easy to get everything organized. Since we were working with kids, we didn't use the throwing axe area, but we did enjoy some exciting laser tag. you could bring your own water and cake or cupcakes, but you needed to buy your food from them. They used Mountain Mike's pizza for food orders, which was located off Robinhood. There was a bit of confusion among the workers because some understood the rules differently than others. However, I decided to stay patient and ask questions until I got clear answers. After discussing it, everything worked out well for me. My food arrived exactly on time, just like I had requested. The laser tag room was amazing! It had two stories and was really well put together. Honestly, I can't explain how fun it was--you just have to see it for yourself! The kids had a blast playing there, and believe me, it's definitely a workout! They got to play four different games, so there was always something new to try.
