This review has nothing to do with the show itself because it was very funny. Thanks Corey B. This review is about the facility itself. They need to make some changes. Perhaps more time between the shows and being honest and real about times. Doors open at 7:45 for a show at 8:30. Fortunately we were there early and in the beginning of the line but the line was looooongggg!!!!!! I would hate for it to be cold or raining. The doors did not open at 7:45. We were seated at a table for 4. I felt like everyone at our table was on a United flight in seat 34B. It was cramped!!!!!! Definitely not enough room. Sardines. And the bathrooms are a long way away. Not very handicapped accessible. Fortunately we had no problems with food or drinks. Service was good. The food is what you would expect. Fries.....kind of soggy and limp. And we got the nachos. Would I l go back? Yes....if there was a comedian I really wanted to see. I would go way early and realize that I am there for the comedian not the food, seating or service or drinks.

This was a huge mistake. As soon as this one night show was announced I bought tickets. The comedians in the Stone Cold and the Jackal Show were actors I watch regularly on a television series. What fun it would be to see them do a live comedy show where they play very serious characters. It was distressing when my skin cancer surgery was scheduled for the day before the Funny Bone show. Knowing my son was coming for the surgery I bought a ticket for him knowing he would be able to keep me safe. That wasn't the case due to the business's lack of preparation for an almost sold out show at a larger venue. The new location is a beautiful large space, much improved from their previous location overlooking the plaza at Town Center. The Pembroke Square space, just across Virginia Beach Boulevard from the old location, has a spacious, large seating area. There isn't a bad seat in the house unless there's a large head blocking your view. Our table for four was on a wide aisle with great leg space. The big problem came from the fact that the club hadn't planned well for or adjusted to handling a full house in the much larger venue. It was obvious when we arrived early to find a long line for their valet parking staffed by only two employees. I'm not sure what my son told them when he walked from the vehicle to the valet stand. It must have been an explanation of my medical condition because an extremely nice attendant shortly came to my vehicle and told us he would take us now. I'm not sure whether that turned out to be a good or bad thing. There was an extremely long line in cold blowing wind with no attention at all paid to assist handicapped people. My son held onto my arm trying to protect my hand. In the line in front of our party I saw a woman using a walker and another in a wheelchair. Not good! It was such a relief to finally get inside. Our server came promptly to take our food order. It was a typical menu similar to Cinema Cafes accessed by a QR code posted on the table. I had checked it ahead of time on line to find finger food that I could eat with my left hand, since the other was immobilized from surgery, The order was taken on a digital device. Everything seemed good......at the time. The problem was that the food never came. As the time passed both the tables around me & I started to question our server, who was busy running the charge cards for the people across the aisle. Just before the show ended the man at the table next to mine told our server to cancel his food order, After the show ended my server came to the table, apologized & said the soft drinks we had received were comped. The poor man at the next table asked me "Does this mean I don't have to pay for drinks either?" It was total confusion, To make things worse the show was bad. One of the actors was funny. The other should stick to his TV role. The end was excruciatingly bad. They asked for words from the audience, which they plugged into what was supposed to be a funny script, but wasn't. By the end of the debacle my hand was really hurting. My son told me to stay at the table while he navigated the valet line. He left to do that. To our surprise what appeared to be a kitchen employee brought our food order in 5 big takeout boxes, which we couldn't possibly get outside in 2 plastic bags. I texted my son, who then parked my vehicle he had just gotten from valet. He came back inside to take the food, me & my heavy, heavy purse holding the 3 souvenir glasses you had to buy to get the unlimited refills that we didn't need since we got no food. It was a relief to get home, have a late dinner and take 2 pain pills. Needless to say I forgot to take a picture of the food. The sweet potato fries were very good. The chicken strips had WAY too much breading. It will be a long time (if ever) before I go to Funny Bone again.

Was able to check out the new location watching Felipe Esparza. Well worth the price of tickets. Love that the new location is on one floor and the setup is a bit better, just wish all the tables were like the bar style facing forward. It's uncomfortable watching sideways even after altering your seat and shifting your body. The food wasn't the best and wish they had more fresh items on the menu. Our waiter was not too great. He kept mixing up our drinks with the couple that sat with us and seemed irritated by his own mistake. We had to correct him literally 5 times that the couple didn't get a bottle of wine and that the glass of wine on our bill wasn't ours. He didn't ask if we were done with our food nor if we wanted a box and instead just grabbed it after we paid. I can't recall his name but I think it was Buddy, but was a mid aged African American guy.

The new location is really nice and easily accessible. I think they should get rid of the $10 valet parking service, as it's not necessary--people just want a quick laugh, drink, and bite to eat. There is plenty of parking nearby within a short walk. The food prices are a bit high, for example, $17 for 8 buffalo wings, $16 for a regular-sized burger, and $11 for gourmet fries. Still, all the food was delicious. I would return to see a well-known comedian but not an up-and-coming one, due to the menu prices. The service was excellent and very attentive. Overall, we had a great time!

The venue is very nice since the remodel!!! The waitresses were the best and Damon Williams was hysterical ! The food was a miss for me . I ordered the wings and they just did not have much flavor. I will definitely return to the venue to see other comedians thought!

Ready for some good laughs :)

Nice comedy spot. Pretty good comedians that I've seen so far. It's nothing worse than seeing comedians that don't even make you crack a smile. Tickets are reasonably priced. Seating is arranged by the club. It's four to a table. Seating is pretty close so get to know your neighbor lol. Drinks were good. We didn't order any food. So can't comment on that. We enjoyed the show even though it started 45 minutes late. would be nice to start on time. I still would attend another show when in the area. There's plenty of parking available. We parked in the parking lot up the street. It was free.

All seats are good. Courteous wait staff. Reasonable priced food and drinks. Big but cozy feel.

Just a couple of friends getting together and having a night out. We went out to dinner and went to funny bone after... It was easy getting in, the waitress were great... Fast, quick, accurate... It's not anything fancy, but you aren't there for the easy the building looks.. Just to enjoy the show.

I've been to the Funny Bone quite a few times and every time has been an enjoyable experience so when I saw the advertisements for Guy Torry, I definitely wanted to see him. Thankfully, I'm on their emailing list and was able to get the tickets for a discounted price. Once we arrived for the 7:30pm show, we waited in a very brief line before being seated. The menus are within the QR Codes on the tables so once we scanned the code, we were able to view what items we wanted. We decided to do burgers and margaritas while we enjoyed the show. I chose the Fire Burger which was absolutely amazing (highly recommend) and the drinks were great as well. The opening comedians were pretty funny and Guy Torry was great, we were laughing the entire time. Unfortunately, the area we were sitting in had very close seating so the waiters continuously apologized for bumping our tables/chairs as they were bringing out food. The area was very dark as well, so it made it hard for them to see tables and we even struggled with seeing our food when we received it. If that area could be a little more lit, I'm sure it would help the waiters greatly. Needless to say, the drinks and food were great so I recommend checking out the Funny Bone if you are looking for a good, comedy show.

The only take an away is the seats are always so close together sometimes can be annoying! The food, service, and drinks are always great! We love our souvenir glass cups we always get!

Drinks: I tried the Grey Goose Strawberry Mule (10/10) it was soooo good! I was happy I gave this a try because it just might be my new fav drink. I also tried the Long Beach Tea (8/10) it was pretty good. Food: we shared some Chicken Nachos (10/10) we completely cleaned the plate. It was a great portion size, hot, fresh, and delicious; loved the flavors all together. I ordered the Spicy Jambalaya with linguine (10/10) yummy flavors, wasn't too spicy, and again, a good portion size. Tasted the Buffalo chicken pizza and it was actually pretty decent. I was very pleased with everything ordered for dinner. For dessert, we tried the Brookie (10/10) exactly what I needed and was craving. Cleaned the plate entirely. It was so good! Still top of my go to list! My overall rate of experience : 9.5/10

Our server was Nathan and he was friendly and accommodating!! I like the amount of happy hour options compared to some other restaurants with just a few. We got burger sliders with fries, calamari, poke nachos, and chicken lettuce wraps. The calamari was ok but it was some very tough ones to chew and the portion was small. The tartar sauce that came with it was good and a little spicy. The poke nachos were decent, but I'm not a raw girly to often, so I'd definitely ask if it could be seared. I put it in the air fryer at home, and it was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed it!! The lettuce wraps were just ok, the chicken was kinda rubbery and chewy. The wonton shell was delicious though and the sauce was good. My sliders were supposed to be all the way with lettuce, tomato, onions, and secret sauce. But when they came to the table they were plain with no sauce. I started to eat and about 5 minutes later the food runner brought my correct order. They said they gave me the table next to ours food. So the waiter came back to take it back, and I asked if they'd throw it away? He said yes! Which kinda bothered me. I asked since it was going in the garbage and it wasn't my mistake, could I keep it. He said the manager wouldn't allow it. With inflation why would the manager rather trash perfectly good food? It makes me nervous when restaurants take food back. If it's sat down on a table it shouldn't be returned, just take the loss, because how do I know your not going to replace it and serve it to someone else. I'm not a fan of that!! I'm not accusing them of doing that, but that's the thoughts that run through my mind in situations like that. The table was spacious at the booths and it was clean inside. There's street and garage parking. We went on a good day when it wasn't a wait for a table. The hostess was very nice. She was cheerful and engaging! I'd go back to try other happy hour dishes. Check them out!!

I really appreciate when places let you taste before committing, it's always a plus! For food, we got the pretzel bites, served with a house-made beer cheese and a tangy, grainy mustard. I love me some beer cheese. I was surprised that the pretzel bites tasted a bit like donut holes. They were softer and sweeter than the typical pretzel, but honestly, I'd order them again. We also split the boneless chicken bites with the citrus bourbon BBQ sauce. The sauce was really flavorful with a nice mix of sweet and tangy. And of course, fries on the side. Crispy and the perfect amount to split for two. All in all, it was a great spot for a casual bite and some local brews before a show.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

They are just south of where Holland Rd. merges into Independence Blvd. My most recent visit here was on April 23, 2026. From the outside of the business, it does stand out a bit with the large name above the entrance. You can definitely see it if you look from Holland Rd. I had seen it too when traveling down that road, but I finally came in for the first time on March 10, 2026 after leaving the Voter Registrar's Office not too far from there. Upon entering, it wasn't too busy yet, but it was a little before 4 pm, so it was still early for the evening dinner rush. The inside of the place definitely has the bar scene vibe with the bar area and televisions showing sports there, with closed captioning on. One of the bartenders said we could find a spot to be seated. My mom and I went to one of the booths available. It was just seconds later that our server came over, welcomed us here, bringing menus over, and introduced herself. The first question is always asking about what to drink. I continue to go with my usual, which is water with lemons, while my mom got Coke. After having some time to look over the menu, when we got our drinks, my mom and I were both ready to order. I decided to go with the Sloppy Joe Samich with Onion Rings as the side item, but subbing Pepper Jack Cheese instead of American Cheese. My mom decided to do an appetizer as the main course, which was the Loaded Nachos Half Size Portion. A little less than 10 minutes later, our food orders came to the table, and they looked really good, and when we went to try it out, they were definitely hot too. The Sloppy Joe Samich ended up being really good and hit the spot for me. The onion rings were good too, and were a bit of an indulgence for me. My mom really liked the Loaded Nachos and that had good flavor to it as well. Our server also told us about various specials they have through the week, so this would warrant future visits for us too. The next few visits would be on Thursdays, as they have a $7 Burger Night Special beginning at 5 pm. For those next visits (including the most recent one, except for the April 6 visit), I would end up getting the Bacon Cheeseburger With Fries (additional cost to change the side item for specials). My mom also did a few types of burgers on these visits, one being the Cowboy Burger. Every time, the burgers came out as expected and hot. The fries were really good too, as I usually do pepper on them instead of salt. There was one additional visit on April 6th, which was a Monday. We came in that day for the Fried Shrimp Basket Special. That one comes with Fried Shrimp and Fries, and is available all day. The shrimp were really good and filling too. Overall, the food, service, atmosphere, and specials have been great here. I really feel like they are a hidden gem. When it comes to sodas, they did carry Coke products, but as of the middle of April 2026, they are now serving Pepsi products. I want to note that there is a 3% order processing fee, likely for anyone paying by a card instead of cash. Even when I have been there at busier times, parking was never an issue. It feels like a family atmosphere too. On the most recent visit, they even stated that they notice us as regulars here now. If you're looking for a different place that serves more than just burgers, this place is worth checking out, as I have not seen a place around yet that has the Sloppy Joe type samich.

The both of us, well three of us if you count the dog, enjoyed our meals. I went with the doggy-style version of the Chicken n Waffles. This take on the classic dish included: a bacon-infused waffle, fried chicken thigh, sausage gravy, candied bacon, and bourbon maple syrup. Overall, I enjoyed the dish with the small exceptions that the batter made the waffle really heavy for my personal tastes. I'm more of a fan of light, fluffy waffles. Unfortunately, I did not know this at the time, but the kitchen puts the syrup on the waffle for you. Personally, I like to add my own syrup because I do not like too much syrup on my waffles (and pancakes). However, those two minor issues did not take away from the dish. Also, the other aspects of the dish made up for those minor inconveniences. My partner ordered the Pongo, which was served with a fried chicken thigh, cheddar biscuit, scrambled egg, sausage gravy, house potatoes. If you are a fan of Bloody Marys, the restaurant has a selection of 4 or 5 interesting Bloody Marys. I went with the Porky's Revenge, which had bacon-infused vodka, Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix and a bacon-dusted rim. Both of us were quite pleased with our selections. Also, come here hungry because the serving sizes are quite large. Because of the large serving sizes, I thought the prices were relatively fair compared to other places the area. Actually, I would change "fair" to "generous". Both of our dishes were about 17 bucks with the 4ish dollar 'doggy style' add on. Generally speaking, our waitress was really on the ball. Although we were sitting outside, she frequently checked in us and was very professional while being funny. Hopefully, we can make another stop here during our next Va. Beach vacation adventure.

I always find the hair of the dog such a great place to eat. Great drinks. Great food. Great vibes here in this location.

We made a special trip to Rustic Spoon for my husband's birthday because their website listed…read morescotch eggs, which was something he'd been craving forever and that we hadn't been able to find anywhere around town. It happened to be Restaurant Week, which made us a little nervous, but it ended up being totally fine. The dining room never felt overly crowded, the noise level was comfortable, and having the Restaurant Week prix fixe, drink specials, and regular menu all available gave us plenty of options without feeling overwhelming. One small note: the plastic logo cups served with the water decanter felt a little out of place. They were a bit sharp on the lips and didn't quite match the rest of the dining experience. Minor detail, but noticeable. The drinks, however, were excellent. On our server's recommendation, my husband ordered the Gingerbread Old Fashioned and I had the Salted Caramel Martini. Both were seasonal specials and both were fantastic. When we asked about the scotch eggs, our server explained they're normally a brunch-only item. We were a little disappointed (and may have made a few pouty faces while explaining we'd come specifically for them for his birthday), but we quickly let it go, it obviously wasn't her fault. What we didn't realize was that she went back and told the kitchen manager that it was his birthday and that we'd made the trip just for those scotch eggs. Since the kitchen wasn't slammed, they decided to make them anyway and surprised us with an order. We were honestly floored. My husband was thrilled. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. And the scotch eggs were exactly what he'd been hoping for! They were crispy on the outside with a rich, savory center. For entrées, his Nashville Hot Chicken was juicy with the perfect amount of heat without being overwhelming. My Haystack Burger was stacked and delicious, though the BBQ sauce was strong enough to overshadow the pickled green tomato a bit. The fries were fantastic - crispy, battered, and perfect from first bite to last. Our server checked in at all the right times and kept drinks refilled without us needing to ask. The fact that she went out of her way to do something special during one of the busiest weeks on a restaurant's calendar says a lot about both her and the restaurant. Rustic Spoon is the kind of place that works just as well for a casual date night as it does for a birthday dinner or a night out with friends.

Upon seating, our waitress Faith came, introduced herself, and took our order drinks while we look over the menu. We decided both brunch & lunch. In a short wait everything came out hot. Overall the service was great, food delicious & great for group casual dining.
