This place needs to work on time management; we were here at 9p as suggested on the ticket to be standing outside for 30+ minutes. It was not warm outside (Friday night) and 30 mins before the show we were still at the door waiting to be let in. It's been about 4-5 years since I last came here and it will be another long time because not only do they keeping you waiting in the elements outside they cramp everyone in like sardines inside. I could stretch my legs under the table if I wanted too without fear of kicking the couple across from me I didn't know. The space is inadequate for hosting large crowds. Paid $120 for a VIP table for two people to share with another couple (2 ppl). You share half a table that's not 3ft wide. Soon as we were allowed into the establishment the floors were sticky and dirty and I had on boots so it didn't make me even want to purchase a drink from the bar which made me super happy we ate at Bahama Breeze prior to the show having caught the late 10p showing. The only saving grace to our night at this horribly ran establishment was the fact the main comedian KevOnStage was hilariously funny and so were the two comedians who opened for him. I just wish he could've been anywhere else but the Funny Bone. I'd love to see Jess Hilarious this coming week but I won't subject myself to this poor treat again anytime soon. The comedian was really good - never heard of him prior but definitely would see him again. The venue.... They obtained a new/larger space and still have the tables/chairs ON TOP OF EACH OTHER.. like so uncomfortably close.. would only be comfortable if every person in attendance was a size zero. While the entire back half was empty. I've worked in hospitality my whole life, if the show isn't sold out I think it's fair to space the tables in the front section a bit more for comfortability.. or let parties of 2 have their own table. I bought 4 tickets to not share a table but they said if 1-2 more people weren't with our party we still had to sit with another couple. I understand that for promotion purposes they want it to look packed in the front but between the size of people in general and its winter/winter coats.. it was TIGHT. For perspective - the row directly behind us was half empty/it was a weekday show that only filled half the venue. There was no reason to be packed in like that. read more

It's a large, clean space with a good view of the stage. But the tables and chairs are tiny! I'm 5"7 and can barely fit my legs under the table. The chairs are also uncomfortable. I would definitely bring a cushion for next time. Luckily, their drinks are great and strong. You really only need one for a good buzz and to ignore the discomfort. Get 2 and the show will be a slight blur While our server was amazing and accommodated everything we needed, the food price was ridiculous. It was too expensive and although the food looked good, the patties were burnt and low key tasted weird. A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY-WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I should have listened to my co-workers when they said that the Funny Bone was a wanna-be comedy club that charges premium prices for mediocre service. But I had to at least come up with my own opinion, and my wife had never been to a comedy club before...I feel bad for having to say it, but my coworkers weren't wrong! The Funny Bone is TRASH when it comes to everything but the acts themselves! If it was not for the acts, I would have left much sooner! The door-person was a beyond rude! The business doesn't seem to really care about its patrons(makes the vast majority of them stand out in the cold and rain, all the while allowing only certain demographics to bypass the wait outside). The part that started to get to me was when doors opened. As the line formed and patrons came inside, the doorman began mocking them in front of his coworker stating "OMG, I'm going to melt in the rain". To top it off, the service was straight crap! We never received our food order or refill order all to be charged an 18% standard gratuity. If you're looking for a place to have just a laugh, but be upset with your treatment and service, this is the place, but if you're looking to "treat" your significant other with a good night, all while enjoying a laugh-Don't go to the Funny Bone! To the doorman last night (14NOV24) YOUR A DICK! You're too wide of a person to talk crap to anyone. You weren't out there with those people in the cold and rain! Although I laughed my rear off, I don't go here often because of the seating situation. It has been at least eight years since I've been here last. I was almost hoping that they had done something better in reference to the seats. People show up early and they are seated closer to the stage, with other people they don't know. I really wish this was a CinéBistro situation where you pick your seat. Though we were able to sit at a table for two, you were up top in the corner which wasn't the best view for the show. However, I guess I should have arrived 40 minutes early before Showtime. I am not sure if I will be back to this venue to see other comedians. The food was okay and the waitress was great. The seats are PACKED very close to each other. The comedian was Christopher Titus, who I was really looking forward to seeing before tonight. A lot of his jokes were quite funny, but then he got extremely political. If a comedian is going to be political, then they should be neutral and joke on both sides or politicians in general. Titus is extremely left and was not shy about saying "f***" anyone who voted red, made fun of both Reagan and Bush, and referenced Hitler in his show multiple times. I'm sorry he couldn't be more neutral but his extremism took away from the humor of the show. Very disappointed that he couldn't leave politics out of his show. read more

I could have had a V8. While vacationing in Virginia Beach, we wanted to see Bill Bellamy at the Funny Bone. What I loved: * They do not have a two drink/item minimum * We were outside in line for a long time and I had to use the bathroom. I appreciated the security staff letting me in early. I promised that I would get back in line after I was done. And I did. They could have been a butt about it. What I didnt love: * It was super hot. The air conditioning was not working * The host quoted me for the price of a drink, but when the bill came, it was $2 more * The bartenders were being very light handed. Bill Bellamy asked for a double of grand marnier, the bartender barely covered the bottom of the glass. Bill asked for another one, and barely got a shots worth of grand marnier. Funny && Fantastic! I purchased tickets online for a show on March 30th as a birthday experience for my partner. There was a line when we arrived prior to showtime, but it moved quickly and we were inside in no time. The tickets were scanned right off the phone; but when they scanned my tickets there was an error. I mistakenly purchased tickets for the day before. The staff was so kind about the mistake && were able to get us in for the show. It was a 930 showing so we had some appetizers- fries and chicken were perfect. The tables were situated very close to each other. You will also share a tiny table and menu with another couple. I come out to the funny bone on a semi-regular basis to watch geek night comedy. It was created by Sid and Derek and has gone on for years now. The comedians who grow through this show are absolutely fantastic. You will get a wonderful chance to enjoy nerd humor in a group setting that has no judgment. On to the food the funny bone has some very tasty morsels for you. I won't lie I absolutely adore their French fries I think they're the best I've ever had. Me and the wifey had a date night several weeks ago and we saw Craig Robinson AKA Darryl from the office do some stand up! This was our first time at the Funny Bone and I was informed to come early and we did arrive about an hour early before the show started. Once they check your ID you just hangout in the lobby (not very big) and then suddenly they asked everyone to get in line. Seating is first come first served. We were one of the first 10 in line but we were seated right in the middle of the venue. We assumed the first 20ish tables closest to the stage were for VIP ticket holders? Not sure though. They PACK this venue so much that when I walked to the bathroom I had to say excuse me several times and bumped people's knees by accident... This is definitely a fire hazard for sure. You have to sit at a table with strangers which isn't a big deal since you're here for a show anyways. For food, we got the loaded basket fries and the hot wings basket with a drink and the total was a little over $30 which was very expensive but we had no other choice. The fries were pretty good and the wings were good as well and very spicy. Luckily we got the refillable soda cup but it was about $7 for that. The opener, Wil Sylvince, was freaking HILARIOUS. I would definitely pay to see him be the main act. There were two other openers that were decent. When Craig Robinson came out I was soo excited! I loved his character on the office and knew his stand up would be just as good. I would say about 75% of his act is incorporating his keyboard to some extent: he would play popular decade songs, the office them song (ahhh), and make jokes as well. He was able to interact with the audience and mix that into his set which was really cool. Our waitress was nice and provided good service and the bouncers were very friendly as well. Although the seating is very tight, the lineups make up for the restriction. They make you forget that your neighbors elbow is in your plate. Meaning...you will not have much space. So short and petite people have an advantage. Unless you come in a group of 4, you will share an intimate sized table with strangers. Also, if you want to get a good seat for special events, get there at least an hour and a half early. My husband and I have been here 4 times and the wait staff never disappoints. The door men are very professional and courteous. Food and drink prices are reasonable. My Hendrix and tonic was $8.75 and a chicken tender platter was about $16.00. Very reasonable! I came here because of my dear friend Munster (yes, that's what I call her). After dropping my luggage of to my hotel room, we decided that these was lots of catching up to do. So we ended up here. Comedy acts: great place for laughs! Honestly, they have a great lineup. We were lucky to have Steve O from Jack ass be there. We laughed so much I might have peed in my pants a little. It could have also been from the surprise ending from the "double back" stunt he did too. Food: Food was ok. The spinach artichoke dip was fabulous, unfortunately the chips were stale. The shrimp was very tasty and crispy, but cocktail sauce didn't taste well with it. The burger was delicious and juicy, but I was given the wrong side. So there was some good items, but still some misses. Customer service: service was great. Although there were problems with out order, they were able to correct them. It was a busy night, but the staff was able to correct my burger dish with the right side and gave me fresh chips. They checked on the table constantly for any add one of drinks before the show. Overall, it's a great place to catch up on laughs, drinks and watch comedy. Sad that I missed the comedian Monique, but hopefully will see more acts in future trips. Had the pleasure seeing Lil Duvall this past weekend. Funny dude! The place is very tight and the chairs are very uncomfortable. So sitting there for a couple of hours can be torturous. The food is pretty good from what I've had but way overpriced! The food is not that great for the price. And the quantity you get doesn't account for the price either. Went to the Funny Bone last night to see Pauly Shore. He was funny and it was a good time but my boyfriend and I were sat at a little four top with another couple we didn't know in a corner near the back middle. The tables on either side of ours were so close that when I and my neighbors were sitting in our seats the backs were hitting each other. It's weird and really uncomfortable because every time you or they move you hit chairs and jar the person or they jar you. Also - as always because I'm cursed - Sasquatch sat in front of us yet again and I couldn't see around their huge mutant head so half the stage was obstructed. A little better design and planning could ensure that all customers can see the stage by doing stadium seating or raised portions which I think they did try but it's not working out exceptionally well. I realize the need to make money by packing people in and the informal bar environment but they do serve food and those little cramped tables and the absolute lack of personal space for two hours is uncomfortable. My ex-husband was a giant 6'2 football player type man who loved laughing but hated being cramped in there because he almost couldn't fit because when he pulled his chairs out to sit at the table he almost never had enough room. It's a big consideration of you're going to be sitting there for 2 hours or so and even more if you're planning to eat. I only go when it's someone I really want to see because otherwise it's not worth it. read more

They would already have their seat. Food was spotty. I got my basket of fries quickly. Go the shrooms about halfway through the show, and my quesadilla and rootbeer showed up at the end of the show. The quesadilla tasted like it was just cheese, no chicken, and stale. The fries were outstanding. A few times we we're brought drinks, that we did not order, a total of 8 drunks. I understand the packing us in, this don't bother me, but I did notice a few larger people, and they seemed uncomfortable. They offer a full bar inside the waiting area for pre-show drinks and they have a food menu as well. The show room has two levels and tables can be tight but it's okay. We got free tickets to the show tonight because I signed up for the Funny Bone email list which periodically sends out freebies. So sign up! Finesse Mitchell was the headliner with two comedians opening up for him. It is a rocking good time and laughs were in plenty supply. The food and drinks though seem highly marked up and it can get expensive. $7 for fries? I mean they can charge they want right? Other then that, I would probably decide to eat beforehand and grab a drink or two for the show.
