I was here with my co-workers around midnight (on Nov 25th) as my S wanted to have friday night out. I was told FWB is a live Karaoke bar so I saw people singing and drinking (some were dancing). Not that I've never been to Karaoke, but I wasn't too familar with being at a Karaoke bar, and I was like why not. Noise level was high. It felt like being in a club, but it was more like a noisy pub where I had to scream in someone's ear. Security was quite helpful. I forgot what his name was, and he helped me getting through wifi when I asked him. The one under FWB didn't work well, however Shaw wifi worked fine. I bought myself a Lonetree cider for $6, and I found the pricing to be average in my personal opinion. The cheapest drink would be Budwiser for $3.50 during the Happy Hour. I thought it was seeing people actually interacting with others. My friend M even got to talk to other customers too. I enjoyed hanging out with my co-workers ; even though I already passed my bed time at the moment. I noticed the queues for the Karaoke could be long. Make sure you look at the list and write the name of the song before giving the paper to DJ. I found the washroom to dirty and it was too dark inside. Tl; Dr friendly helpful staff (security guy was nice!), Happy Hour is available, slow wifi (Shaw one worked!) , cool artworks and great hangout place. Don't forget your CASH!

Wow, they weren't kidding when they say this place is a ghetto-dive bar. I've been to ghetto places such as the Cambie and enjoyed it immensely, but to be honest, this one's a bit too ghetto for my liking. Sure it's on the Downtown Eastside. Sure the inside is beaten up. But wow, the interior smells like moldy dust. Fortunately one's nose goes numb after a few minutes. The interior does have some neat artwork. There's some graffiti on some of the walls that actually pretty well done. On the other side are some paintings of titties and other naked females. The bar area itself is quite large. As I had heard that the tap piping here is on the dirty side, I didn't venture too close. Really didn't want to know. At the back is a raised stage with DJ table, and a small dance floor. The waitress asked us if we wanted to do Karaoke. Considering the place was filled with some really creepy looking guys (I wanted to take a picture but didn't want to get stabbed with a syringe), we politely declined. In the background they kept playing the same 5 or so Rage Against the Machine songs. They looped this. Oh, then they also played a hard rock version of Billy Joel's Uptown Girl in between the RATM loopings. Today (Wednesday) the special was $3 Cariboo pints (several types available). These are the real deal. No skimping on the volume here. They also had $9 pitchers as part of the same promotion. I had the lager. It actually wasn't bad. As the place really stunk, I dared not venture into the washroom. Maybe some other fellow Yelper can take one for the team. This may not be the place to go for a hot date.

Great way to spend a rainy afternoon, especially during all-you-can-sing, where it's $25 per…read moreperson! I didn't walk in intending to spend 5 hours here, but the time flew by. The staff were nice, the karaoke machine was easy to navigate, and the rooms were comfy. Also the FOOD, omg!! Best food and drink options I've had at a karaoke place so far. My friends and I split some fried rice, salt and pepper popcorn chicken, and deep fried buns with condensed milk. I also got an iced mango black tea. It all hit the spot. I can't wait to come back and bring more friends!

I'm going solo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo... I'm sorry I had to because the karaoke place is called solo and I…read morecan't help but sing solo by Jennie from kpop group blackpink. This was my first time here and I'm happy they have the all you can sing deal~ it's a good deal only from Monday to Thursday from 2pm-7pm it's $10/person! We definitely sang the whole time so worth it! They have a pretty good music selection, the system is easy to navigate and seems to download songs and have up to date music and music videos although some were kinda weird but not too old and good quality! We mostly sang a lot of kpop, yup they can satisfy all your kpop needs.. if you are a fan of BTS, look no further because they had 14 pages of bts songs... I think that's the most I've seen at any karaoke place so that was quite impressive. Albeit some of those songs were in Japanese version and I would have liked the original Korean version, but at least they also have the most up to date songs so I was very pleasantly surprised! I like the decor outside in the hallway and the rooms are quite simple. Not much special inside the room, what sucks is seeing people walk by in the hallway when I had a side room. Also it's very very cold here, my hands were freezing, I think their AC system is pretty strong so you need a jacket for sure. It's tough to just sit there and be cold and sing your heart out while you are cold but at least they give you water to soothe the throat, which is cold water... it's a nice gesture! The mics are also cordless which was nice and they provide a cover for the mics which is good. I am impressed by the music they had and it was lots of fun to sing k again, especially it's not super busy here which is great. Just a few things they could improve on like making it less cold in there but anyways I hope they keep this deal going!
