Game store in Eugene specializing in tabletop games and things like Magic/Pokémon cards. I've been here a few times when I was home; once upon a time there was a woman organizing a ladies game night and I went to it a few times, lots of fun. They have several tables set up in the back for folks to play games from the store's collection, or you can bring your own and play. They do have a good store collection if you're looking for something to try, or you can buy something off the shelf and give it a whirl! I was here once with someone who was looking for some novelty version of a Catan or something and the guy seemed a little snooty about it... or maybe it was Tixket to Ride? Anyway it might not be a game he plays but he works in a game shop so it would make sense to know about upcoming releases, and not say that it's not something he's interested in so he doesn't know. Board gamers can be snobby, but TTR is good and though it's not my #1 fave (that's Grand Austria Hotel), it's fun. They do have a really good selection of games here; I picked up my copy of Splendor here, as well as the Lanterns: The Emperor's Gifts expansion, and they have many of the standards like Brass, Catan, Carcassone, Dixit, and so on. I think but don't know if they buy used games, so give them a call if you have them. This store is actually the small one from my understanding. Their flagship is in Medford, which I haven't been to, but I think that's also where their distribution arm is as well. I have Kickstarted a LOT of games and it's always cool to see it's coming from Funagain; feels like supporting a hometown/near hometown business. Parking can be difficult here depending upon the time of day, events happening at the store, and events happening in the neighborhood. Luckily the LTD station isn't too far away so that is a solid transportation alternative. read more

I really want to like this place more because they have such a large selection of games; however, I wasn't impressed with the price discrepancy on their website attached to this store vs. the actual store. Seems like they might be a chain? If they're not connected with the website/chain, it shouldn't be listed as the website for this location. I signed up for an email notification to let me know when a game was back it stock through the website attached to this location. They emailed me. Said it was in stock for $71.99 or something like it. I get into store and the game was $89.99. When I inquired about the price difference, they didn't acknowledge the website really being closely related to their store and said something about getting games from different warehouses. Regardless of if this is true, the game wasn't priced at this price anywhere on the internet. I don't mean just amazon... lol but it was just very strange, and quite the price difference. Customer service kinda sucked. Dude at the front didn't care that me and my husband were there. He looked up at us and that was it. He sat behind the desk on his phone the whole time. My husband was looking at Magic cards up at the front and another couple was looking as well. He kinda waved my husband off and only helped the other couple. Didn't ask if we needed anything. Very rude customer service when answering questions over the phone. Simply asking for what's in stock and the man taking calls apparently doesn't have time to facilitate sales to customers looking to spend money. He literally said " I have better things to do than figure out what we have available for you." I dunno why they need to be so rude. This has happened on multiple occasions, I'm very disappointed because we are trying to support local stores during the pandemic. Not willing to go back or spend money where the employees are only willing to help with things "they are interested in" and when they have no interest, I guess that's their cue to begin belittling a paying customer. read more

Very nice selection of all kinds of games. I was looking for a dinner game and they had a whole wall of mystery games. While the clerk was adequate, he was pretty glued to the front counter. Seemed to have little knowledge of the games and lacked the enthusiasm I would have expected in such a fun place. The store was large, well organized and clean. Funagaingames scams folks by posting sales prices online that they do not honor when the customer picks up the game in-store!! Speaking as someone with a successful retail business myself, I find their scammy sales tactics both idiotic & reprehensible. Punishing customers for buying games in store is a sure-fire way to invite bad things to happen to Funagaingames. read more

Oh my gosh I walked into this game store for the first time today. this is really a game board lovers game store. They have a great selection and even open box games for you to play and try out and look at and drool over. This is a location for a regular meet up groups, and that is how I found this place. I judge game stores primarily by their RPG selections, so while they certainly did seem to have a lot of board and card games, that's not my concern. Their RPG selection is small, but it seems to be comprised almost entirely of print editions of recently-Kickstarted works. I suspect the owner (or someone) is a Kickstarter addict like myself, and puts the print copies of the stuff he backs out for sale to cover the cost of his PDFs, which, to be clear, is a genius move. Unfortunately, that means I have almost all of these games already. But it also means people browsing those shelves will be introduced to a huge variety of awesome indie games, which is fantastic. read more

Julie at Fun Again is superbly knowledgeable on their enormous collection -probably the largest in Oregon- and she's an inspiringly enthusiastic ambassador of our gaming universe! They have lots of Spiel des Jahres /German Board Game & Connoisseurs Games of the Year -including the most recent eg The Lost Ruins of Arnak & so many more delightful treasures! I have loved this place since the first time I came in with my then boyfriend some four years ago. Cary has since become one of my closest friends and I've played so many awesome games! This place is great for trying out games (they have hundreds of demos) or buy a new game! They just got their liquor license too so there is beer and cider options along with the usual soda, juice options. Ask Cary to buy coconut water though please. read more

A very comfortable store located beside a video game store. You want card games? It's here. You want tabletop RPGs? It's here. You want board games? It's here. They even let you have a nice beer (or tea/soda/bottled water), a burrito, candy and other pleasantries while you're there. Tucked away in a closet space is a unique "arcade" which consists of a -free- arcade cabinet loaded with a good number of classic 80s arcade titles. Down another hall lies a treasure trove of board games for you to check out and play right there if you want to. I'm very happy such a store exists in the Eugene/Springfield area. We need more places like this in the world. read more

Great FLGS (friendly local gaming store) where the staff is quite helpful and they have a separate section for "New Arrivals" and "BoardGameGeek Top 20 rated games". As other have mentioned, you get the online prices in the store as well. The gaming lounge in the back looked welcoming and if I were going to be in the area longer i would have stayed for a few hours to see what games were being played and maybe even join in. read more

Games, games and more games! Funagain is awesome! The best day of my week is spent here (you guessed it, that night is game night!) . They have a very spacious gaming area where you can bring your group, big or small and play. There's a very extensive game library that you can check out games too, which is nice, because sometimes games are a bit pricey so it's good to see if you enjoy playing the game before you make the full commitment of making the investment and adding it to your own library. Oh, and the staff is extremely friendly and patient and they will answer any questions you may have. All in all, Funagain Games is rad! read more

I took a peek in the back room and saw a lot of space that could be fun for events, although I didn't stay to explore. The cashier was nice enough, generally courteous. This is worth posting here: Funagain Games one of my favorite haunts. Best tabletop/rpg and board shop in downtown Eugene. The folks who work here are welcoming, prompt with orders and very informative. If they don't have it they are not afraid to point you to where you need to go. Dice, books and old favorites and new games are stocked regularly each week. There is a hallway of shelves full of games (and their expansions) to try for free and lots of open space and seating (including a private room) for group games. This is a safe place for active gamers and students to quietly study alike. There is good parking, wifi, beer, and food is nearby (or bring it yourself). The atmosphere is clean, inviting and the evening games are very active until 11 on most days, bring your friends and join one or start your own. read more

Really cool place where you can not only buy games from a huge selection of games but you can stay and try out basically every game they have on the shelf. They have tables and seating where you and a group of people can come to play together they even sell drinks to accommodate you. Great game shop in Eugene, not too far from I-5. Found 4 new co-op games we hadn't seen elsewhere, and the owner(?) was very friendly and helpful. To be truthful, I can't say much about the games aspect of Funagain -- just about the unexpectedly helpful welcome and service my 11-year-old granddaughter and I got when we wandered in looking for a pair of dice (the old-fashioned 6-sided kind, which we couldn't find anywhere else). Cary greeted us, immediately found a stray pair of dice from an old game, and gave them to us without charge. What a nice guy, what a nice place, and what a good feeling to know that kind of friendly generosity is alive and well in Eugene. Cary chatted with us a few minutes and showed us some of the games in the back. Makes me wish I were young again so I could hang out and learn some new ones.
