Not only were we able to purchase each card we requested, the staff helping us was knowledgeable enough to identify and grab each card with only a name. My husband was amazed that he didn't need to spell any of the card names nor repeat himself. The person helping us gave suggestions without it feeling like upselling. He saw I was looking at getting card sleeves and shared samples for me to see the colors in real life instead of the color printed on the boxes. Offered 20% trade in value for my NM Pokemon... after I rejected their horrible trade-in value offer, I just ended up trying to pay with cash for the card I was looking for. I don't know if they were butt hurt because I rejected their lowball, but for the rest of the time while trying to purchase the card they were extremely rude to me and made it not a pleasant experience. I came in here with my husband this afternoon to look for a couple of cards he needs for a tournament. It's a nerd's nerd store. So I was violently out of place, to say the least. Store is clean, spacious, and seems well organized. Employees are friendly enough. We bought card sleeves, props for the fact they had bright pink ones, because I never pass up a chance to push a little of my style into my husband's hobbies. They did not carry the cards we wanted, or any cards for the game my husband plays. It seems like the only thing they actually stock are Magic the Gathering cards, and have a huge selection of those. The employee told us we could buy the cards he wanted online, but they aren't carried in the store. Which is disappointing. If I'm going to have to buy them online, I'll just purchase them from the manufacturer, not the store. So the fact they don't carry what we wanted was hugely disappointing to me. Would I return? Probably not, given they don't carry what we wanted, nor do they support tournaments for that game. I got the feeling that if it wasn't related to Magic the Gathering, it wasn't worth their time. read more

What a great game and card shop! Friendly people working: extra helpful to the person looking to sell cards or discussing deck builds. We haven't had the chance to play here but they have a large space filled with tables and their calendar seems pretty fillled with events. Pricing is varied for most of their product with popular packs and decks priced higher than MSRP and a few less sought out ones priced lower. Board games were offered at a 10% discount when we were there (July '24). We always plan a trip when we are in town and tend to get a number of different items. read more

Honestly, as a passing MTG nerd this place has been disappointing . Poor event planning meant that the only scheduled draft event for the newest set occurred simultaneously with a lorcana tournament. Therefore, not enough seats were available and I was the one person turned away. Combine this experience with the few times I've participated in a commander event and been quickly steamrolled by regulars (the commander games are "pay a dollar then get a dollar per kill", which surely incentivizes winning with strong decks quickly rather than enjoying fun gameplay) and this shop hasn't felt very inviting. Addictive behavior is the go to downtown card shop. Also has a really large singles collection for Magic. The service sometimes is fantastic and sometimes less than desirable depending on who you get, which is a common theme among my friends when we talk about this spot. Shady owner(s) I Have spent hundreds if not thousands here over the last few years. Employees are great mind you owner has Shady business practices. Made a large order online and went to pick up was told I purchase to many of a product (that has been out for about 4+ years mind you). I said fine ill have my wife place an order online. Low and behold you know the owner doubled the price online while I was standing at the counter. Attached are the screen shots only hours apart the increased prices happened while I was in the store. I have a confession to make: I really like Magic: The Gathering. Maybe I'm overstating how not-big-of-a-deal this is, but the perceived social stigma that comes with this label is not (read: http://gizmodo.com/5833787/my-brief-okcupid-affair-with-a-world-champion-magic-the-gathering-player). Guess what! Its surprisingly manageable to play MTG and still be a well-adjusted, well-groomed, functioning adult male! So all the haters can suck an unnamed appendage of mine. (Okay I lied, his name is Makaveli) Anyways, Addictive Behaviors is the place to be for any MTG player in Eugene, casual to competitive. The shop is packed with regulars on any given night, participating in daily events spanning all formats throughout the week. Of course, the shop itself is well stocked with booster packs, singles and other various accessories, but its the active MTG community that makes the shop stand out from the rest: this shop has one of the most active local MTG scenes I've seen anywhere. The people here are friendly (especially to new players to the game), if not somewhat stereotypical of the MTG nerds you might remember from high school. At addictive behaviors the environment is frienly, the staff who work there are helpful and patient. on busy days there you might not get helped right away but they always get to you eventually. they have a huge selection of magic the gathering cards, they have binders full of cards for individual sale,15 card packs for $3.50 ( you can get 3 packs for $10 at funagain games right down the road), they have pokemon cards too($3.50 per pack). i think they have yu gi oh too but I'm not sure. i think they accept credit cards( I'm 13 so i've never needed to care/know). they have lots of space there because they have sweet potato pies old area, they also have a backdoor that leads to more space they use for friday night magic. This place has a solid selection of MTG inventory, usually quick service, and large tourneys for weekends and FNM. My only real complaint with it is that it there's a sense of pretentiousness that you get when you listen to some of the store employees and regulars discuss other players and their decks, game-play, and general events/products. It's probably a no-issue for most people, but it's slowly rubbed me the wrong way a bit to the point that I try to get in there and out as quick as possible when I go now. Again, a good place that probably does an excellent job of serving most. read more
