Don't use them. I paid to get everything delivered at 4:30pm and they showed up over an hour late for our wedding leaving all our guests waiting with no tables and chairs. They never called us or contacted us during this time of them being late either. Their store hours online and their store sign say they close at 5pm but they close early when they choose to. No one answered when we called so we tried reaching out through instagram which they responded that they were late and I told them to call me, which they ignored and never called me back. After many years of using this place I swear everytime we have used them this past year has been horrible. The last few times something has been wrong. Always with timing. This last time I rented tables, chairs and a bounce Ouse for a party I was having early on a Saturday. They were suppose to deliver it between 9:00am -12:00pm. Well that didn't happen and everytime I called they said of the driver is running late. And to give him until 2:00pm. Okay so we did and waited 2:30 comes around and still nothing no call no nothing. So I call again and it's the same thing. So I call every hour past that. I get it they were probably busy but I had to wait around all day when my time slot was early. After me calling every hour they still gave me no info and it was already 6:30 pm and still nothing. Well they said he will be there at 8:00pm Ok well it's 8 and still nothing. Tried calling again and they were closed. Me starting to get nervous o wouldn't get my stuff in time. I started going on a deep dive for 2 hours trying to find some kind of phone number or something to get a hold of someone. Eventually at like 9:45pm I got ahold of someone in Hollister at a sister company. And he was very helpful and called me back to let me know he has someone going to come drop off my stuff at 10ish. Ok so we wait some more and finally the stuff is delivered after 10. This would have been ok but the driver tells us that he wasn't even suppose to deliver this order and the person that was shut his phone off. So if I didn't call a million times my stuff would have never been delivered. It would have been ok if the company communicated all this or kept me updated on the situation but they didn't. This is a horrible business strategy. So I tried calling the company the following week to explain the situation and they said they would call me back. Well it's been 3 weeks since that last call and I've called and left voicemail and still nothing. I wouldn't use this place anymore and would recommend people to not use it either. I personally am Never doing business with these people again. Twice we rented from them and both times our jumpers barely worked. Generators kept shutting off, jumpers kept deflating. The second time i went i asked the lady if they fixed the generators because i didnt want to come across issues, she told me there would be no problems. The second time around we spent $165 on the jumper alone plus rented chairs and bought party supplies. The big jumper kept deflating. Kids could barely play in it. We asked them to just pick it up. The men talked to Don Aurelio & explained how the business keeps renting faulty equipment. After going back and forth with this man, he finally told us we could have $60 refunded to us. We stopped by the store when he told us to the following Tuesday, he wasn't there. We went back a second time and we were told Don Aurelio doesn't have the authority to give refunds, only the manager (older snarky lady with short light hair) can give refunds. They told us to call back when she is there. I know their contract says no refunds, but the way they are running business is shady and why do i want credit to continue renting equipment that wont work? Be extra careful when renting from here! I rented 36 chairs from this place and one of the chairs they provided was broken. We discovered this when the party began and someone set their purse on it. We ordered extras so put that aside and used a different one. When I called the next morning to let them know I would return the chairs, I let them know that one of the chairs was broken. They said ok, we will take a look. My husband returned the chairs and showed the chair to them and they said we were responsible for it. He said that nobody sat on it. Side note. I am grateful that nobody sat on it because they would have fallen. The lady accused us of standing on it and we had to pay for it. She said they inspect every chair. My father picked up the chairs and did not see them inspect the chairs and when my husband returned them, they counted them but didn't inspect them. This statement was not supported by what they actually did. We thought we were doing the right thing by letting them know one of their chairs they provided was broken but we were accused of stepping on it. This was for bridal shower with older women, I assured her nobody stepped on it. We put the chairs out right before the party started. We were honest and had nothing to hide. They charged us $30 more, for one chair, on top of our rental fee. I feel cheated and sad that a business feels comfortable doing this to a customer. There are many other rental places in the area, and I would recommend you rent from a more trusting place. The truth did not matter them. Beware of unethical business practices that leave you feeling robbed, angry, very disappointed and sad. I have always tried to give my business to small independent business owners, however, I will now think twice. I've been shopping at Dulceria FUN PARTY, on First Street in Gilroy, for the last 8 years, purchasing birthday party supplies, rentals and pinata's for my grandchildren. I rented a cotton candy machine from FUN PARTY for my grandchildren; ages 5 and 8 for their birthday party this past Nov. Leading up to their special day, that's all they talked about was making cotton candy -they were so excited. As all the kids lined up, I fired up the cotton candy machine. I ran it for over 20 minutes, hoping to see pink cotton candy being produced. Instead, the candy turned brown and started bubbling/boiling. To produce the cotton candy, the machine is supposed to spin and this never happened. I Googled, troubleshooting steps, and found that more than likely the belt was broken and needed replacement. The kids were so disappointed/sad and I felt horrible. I called the FUN PARTY over 70 times and no answer. They usually only have 1 employee working in the store -it is rare they ever answer their phone and no answering machine -so you can't leave a message. The birthday party was all the way in Hollister, so leaving the party to go back to the FUN PARTY in Gilroy, was not an option. The next day, I returned the cotton candy machine and based upon what the candy produced, which was still present, it was quite evident it was broken. I was told the owner was not in and I would need to speak with her directly, as I requested a credit back to my debit card. The employee stated she would talk to the owner, share my message and have her call me. I never heard from the owner. I went into the store multiple times, leaving hand written messages and calling the store in hopes someone would answer the phone. It was only by chance, the owner, answered the phone. She said to me, "Why didn't you just bring it back, why didn't you call us, I will need to go to the warehouse and take a look at why it didn't work, my employees always check rentals before leaving my store." She then said to me, "When you returned the cotton candy machine, did the employee try turning it on to determine if it was broken?" I said, no, just like your employee never checked the cotton candy machine before renting it to me. I told the owner, I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years, do you think I am lying? The business owner never even apologized for the broken cotton candy machine and how this left the kids feeling at the birthday party. In closing, she said she would get back to me after she goes to the warehouse to inspect the machine. This went on for well over 2-weeks. The owner had one excuse after another, just stringing me along. Again, I called multiple times, stopping by and leaving hand written notes. To this day, I have not received a phone call from her, nor has she reimbursed me. I filed a claim with my bank. They did a full investigation and in the end, my bank reimbursed me for the unethical/fraudulent business practices at FUN PARTY. I will never shop there again! Back in March Before shelter in place my niece was having her birthday so I was getting her a jumper which is $80 I believe so I went ahead and got the package because it is a good deal but the thing I was really getting it was for the jumper. Well fast forward to the day of the party I work morning and get off at 2pm and get a call from my boyfriend telling me they dropped off tables and chairs and no jumper and that the people who dropped the tables off said i had received a call letting me know they were not going to send the jumper which was a lie when I had no missed calls I called them about 20 times and no one answered so I went straight to the store and there was a young girl there and asked why the jumper wasn't sent and she said because there is a chance of rain and while talking to her the phone just keeps ringing and ringing she finally answers one of the calls and it's a lady complains about not getting her jumper and I can hear her talk to the employee telling him well if you want go ahead and leave it but pick it up before it starts raining in Spanish. She gave that customer that option but I didn't. Then I said i want a refund and she said we don't do refunds and it's on the contract. On the contract it says no refunds due to cancellation and she said she would have to talk to the owner and I left my name and number and never got a call and there was still a few days before we went in to SIP. Once stores started to open up after covid I gave it a week never got a call so I went ahead and went in to see if I was going to be given a refund and owner said no because they do no refunds and I explained that I understand your contract says no refunds due to cancellation but I DID NOT CANCEL the business decided to not call they just decided to drop the tables and chairs off and leave someone had to stop the employees to ask for the jumper. Then one of the other relatives of the owner stepped in with her attitude and said she was the one calling everyone that day and that she called and I said no you didn't and I will bring you my call log to prove to you, you didn't and that I called this store 20+ times before showing up and that's when she decides to change her story to maybe she missed me on her list of people to call. Point is they are the worst and I'm just done I ended up getting a credit and I used it this Halloween. When getting my credit I legit didn't even want to go into the business because of how they had treated me the last time so I had my mom go in a reserve the jumper for Halloween well my mom goes in obviously she knows the owner and starts telling the owner about how shocked she was to her about how they had treated me and the owner was acting like she didn't know anything well maybe she had forgotten who knows months had gone by. Well everything was reserved we were good.... we end up switching the location of a party so my mom went in a couple weeks later to switch the address not even saying anything about the situation and the owner begins to say you know I did investigation about the situation you told me and I remember your daughter she came in here aggressive and even her husband was looking at her embarrassed which when my mom got in the car and told me it took me everything in me to not go in there and put her in her place because one it was uncalled for my mom didn't bring up the situation and also I did not go in aggressive i actually had my bf come in with me and he was the one talking to them but when they were saying yes we called and everything he was saying they were basically calling us liars and that's when I stepped in. Okay DO NOT rent supplies from here. My bridal shower was this past Sunday and my mom ordered chairs and tables from this place. The party was at 1030am and they said they would be open at 930am. Well my mom went Sunday morning and at 930am they were not open, 950am and nothing. Thankfully our neighbors had chairs and tables we could borrow. Later that morning my mom went back to see if they were there and they were and my mom told them what happened and the lady had the audacity to tell my mom they were open. LIES! My mom went at 930 am with my aunt and uncle as witnesses. Unfortunately we did need more chairs and my mom rented some since she was there, but I really wish she didn't because they don't deserve any of our money and/or business. Also, they didn't want to return my mom her deposit when it was THEIR MISTAKE FOR NOT BEING OPEN ON TIME. Like wtf?!
