Don't use them. I paid to get everything delivered at 4:30pm and they showed up over an hour late for our wedding leaving all our guests waiting with no tables and chairs. They never called us or contacted us during this time of them being late either. Their store hours online and their store sign say they close at 5pm but they close early when they choose to. No one answered when we called so we tried reaching out through instagram which they responded that they were late and I told them to call me, which they ignored and never called me back. Horrible service and no money was refunded for being over an hour late. Don't use them. read more

Fun Party - Party Supplies Near Me - Gilroy, California

After many years of using this place I swear everytime we have used them this past year has been horrible. The last few times something has been wrong. Always with timing. This last time I rented tables, chairs and a bounce Ouse for a party I was having early on a Saturday. They were suppose to deliver it between 9:00am -12:00pm. Well that didn't happen and everytime I called they said of the driver is running late. And to give him until 2:00pm. Okay so we did and waited 2:30 comes around and still nothing no call no nothing. So I call again and it's the same thing. So I call every hour past that. I get it they were probably busy but I had to wait around all day when my time slot was early. After me calling every hour they still gave me no info and it was already 6:30 pm and still nothing. Well they said he will be there at 8:00pm Ok well it's 8 and still nothing. Tried calling again and they were closed. Me starting to get nervous o wouldn't get my stuff in time. I started going on a deep dive for 2 hours trying to find some kind of phone number or something to get a hold of someone. Eventually at like 9:45pm I got ahold of someone in Hollister at a sister company. And he was very helpful and called me back to let me know he has someone going to come drop off my stuff at 10ish. Ok so we wait some more and finally the stuff is delivered after 10. This would have been ok but the driver tells us that he wasn't even suppose to deliver this order and the person that was shut his phone off. So if I didn't call a million times my stuff would have never been delivered. It would have been ok if the company communicated all this or kept me updated on the situation but they didn't. This is a horrible business strategy. So I tried calling the company the following week to explain the situation and they said they would call me back. Well it's been 3 weeks since that last call and I've called and left voicemail and still nothing. I wouldn't use this place anymore and would recommend people to not use it either. This wasn't the first time my stuff was not on time. And no one calls and informs you it will be late or not show up. read more

They have good communication & transparency. We have been going to them for about 8 years now & each time its been a good experience.

They had the piñata and supplies we needed for our party. Owner was helpful and it was nice to talk to a person when I called instead of an answering service. read more

I personally am Never doing business with these people again. Twice we rented from them and both times our jumpers barely worked. Generators kept shutting off, jumpers kept deflating. The second time i went i asked the lady if they fixed the generators because i didnt want to come across issues, she told me there would be no problems. The second time around we spent $165 on the jumper alone plus rented chairs and bought party supplies. The big jumper kept deflating. Kids could barely play in it. We asked them to just pick it up. The men talked to Don Aurelio & explained how the business keeps renting faulty equipment. After going back and forth with this man, he finally told us we could have $60 refunded to us. We stopped by the store when he told us to the following Tuesday, he wasn't there. We went back a second time and we were told Don Aurelio doesn't have the authority to give refunds, only the manager (older snarky lady with short light hair) can give refunds. They told us to call back when she is there. I know their contract says no refunds, but the way they are running business is shady and why do i want credit to continue renting equipment that wont work? I'll be filing a complaint with the city about these people. They are money hungry and have No integrity read more

Be extra careful when renting from here! I rented 36 chairs from this place and one of the chairs they provided was broken. We discovered this when the party began and someone set their purse on it. We ordered extras so put that aside and used a different one. When I called the next morning to let them know I would return the chairs, I let them know that one of the chairs was broken. They said ok, we will take a look. My husband returned the chairs and showed the chair to them and they said we were responsible for it. He said that nobody sat on it. Side note. I am grateful that nobody sat on it because they would have fallen. The lady accused us of standing on it and we had to pay for it. She said they inspect every chair. My father picked up the chairs and did not see them inspect the chairs and when my husband returned them, they counted them but didn't inspect them. This statement was not supported by what they actually did. We thought we were doing the right thing by letting them know one of their chairs they provided was broken but we were accused of stepping on it. This was for bridal shower with older women, I assured her nobody stepped on it. We put the chairs out right before the party started. We were honest and had nothing to hide. They charged us $30 more, for one chair, on top of our rental fee. I feel cheated and sad that a business feels comfortable doing this to a customer. There are many other rental places in the area, and I would recommend you rent from a more trusting place. The truth did not matter them. It's makes me sad that a business would take advantage of people in this way. You sign the contract in good faith that they are providing chairs that are not broken. read more

They have a great pinata selection along with other party supplies and candies. Would recommend. Staff very nice and helpful. read more

I have rented the basics (tables, chairs and jumpers) for 15 years. But this year was my daughter´s Sweet 16 and our party needs needed the next level of decor. Claudia (the owner) worked with my budget, gave me professional decor advice on colors and table settings. Claudia met with me twice to review the venue and create a floor plan for the party, and would answer my phone calls in a prompt manner. Claudia and Erika surprised me with additional decor and gave my daughterś party that extra elegance worthy of a Sweet 16! I will definitely use Dulceria Del Sol again and highly recommend them for any type of party decor. read more

This is just based on their water slide jumper. It was a fun water slide for the kids but when arrived it was not clean, it looked dirty and they tried to clean it onsite (my place) like excuse me this should of been done prior and when receiving it from a prior client. I ended up having to get a mop and using my own soap and disinfectant to make sure it was clean clean for the children. I would not rent it again for those reasons. read more

I love getting my party supplies here. They have a great variety of small and large piñatas. They also have lots of candy to fill piñatas. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I would recommend :) read more

Me and my family have been loyal clients for years and always rent tables and chairs from them. They always deliver and pick-up on time. When we rent mechanical bulls the person working the bull is never too harsh on the people riding it. Their piñatas are always in great shape never any tears or anything. Their jumpers are always very well cleaned and are tied up very professionally. If you are looking for a cheap party supply rental store. This is where you need to go! read more

I used come here to do all my party planning and yes it has been awhile, I've been here. I'm a very patience and understanding person. But my recently visit, the girl in front was extremely rude and unprofessional. Even though the store wasn't busy at all, it took her a few minutes to attend me, like seriously who does this shit! I just had a simple question. It seemed like she didn't wanted to help me. Plus not sure when they start charging $55 delivery fee for tables/chairs, which they never did before. But anyways with that kind of customer service, will never return back!! read more

Excellent party supply store! Friendly and they have what you need. Rented from them multiple times and it has been great.

If I could give 0, I would! I have been a loyal customer since I moved to Gilroy, but after today's incident I'm done giving this store my business. The first bad experience I had was a year ago. I went in asking for a customized piñata for my daughter's 1st birthday and baptism. the owner, or at least I think she is the owner gave me a quote of 39.99 , but when I picked up the piñata she charged me 49.99. I thought ok, it was very detailed, it's ok. I left it at that. Just today I went in to buy another piñata ( the 5th one this year) and I paid cash because now the store charges a fee to use your card. Well upon getting my return I notice she did not give me the proper change and I was not going to say anything but it really bothered me she couldn't say, "hey, I don't have the exact change to give you" . When I spoke up she basically said I gave u the change. She tried to turn it on me, the customer and say I was given the change. I showed her my bag and asked, where is the change u gave me. Her response was just to slam 4 quarters on the table. What a disappointment in the service that is given to the customers especially when we are the ones keeping this store open! Keep an eye out! read more

if I could give 0 stars I would. First off the girl in the front which is the owners daughter is extremely rude and has no customer service. She quoted me one one price over the phone. placed my order and when my wife went in it was over a $20 difference. Then they charged us a crazy delivery fee which I had no choice in paying since it was last minute rental. I have been a loyal customer for years and will never return and make sure to never refer anyone her. - Another disappointed customer. read more

Beware of unethical business practices that leave you feeling robbed, angry, very disappointed and sad. I have always tried to give my business to small independent business owners, however, I will now think twice. I've been shopping at Dulceria FUN PARTY, on First Street in Gilroy, for the last 8 years, purchasing birthday party supplies, rentals and pinata's for my grandchildren. I rented a cotton candy machine from FUN PARTY for my grandchildren; ages 5 and 8 for their birthday party this past Nov. Leading up to their special day, that's all they talked about was making cotton candy -they were so excited. As all the kids lined up, I fired up the cotton candy machine. I ran it for over 20 minutes, hoping to see pink cotton candy being produced. Instead, the candy turned brown and started bubbling/boiling. To produce the cotton candy, the machine is supposed to spin and this never happened. I Googled, troubleshooting steps, and found that more than likely the belt was broken and needed replacement. The kids were so disappointed/sad and I felt horrible. I called the FUN PARTY over 70 times and no answer. They usually only have 1 employee working in the store -it is rare they ever answer their phone and no answering machine -so you can't leave a message. The birthday party was all the way in Hollister, so leaving the party to go back to the FUN PARTY in Gilroy, was not an option. The next day, I returned the cotton candy machine and based upon what the candy produced, which was still present, it was quite evident it was broken. I was told the owner was not in and I would need to speak with her directly, as I requested a credit back to my debit card. The employee stated she would talk to the owner, share my message and have her call me. I never heard from the owner. I went into the store multiple times, leaving hand written messages and calling the store in hopes someone would answer the phone. It was only by chance, the owner, answered the phone. She said to me, "Why didn't you just bring it back, why didn't you call us, I will need to go to the warehouse and take a look at why it didn't work, my employees always check rentals before leaving my store." She then said to me, "When you returned the cotton candy machine, did the employee try turning it on to determine if it was broken?" I said, no, just like your employee never checked the cotton candy machine before renting it to me. I told the owner, I have been a loyal customer for over 8 years, do you think I am lying? The business owner never even apologized for the broken cotton candy machine and how this left the kids feeling at the birthday party. In closing, she said she would get back to me after she goes to the warehouse to inspect the machine. This went on for well over 2-weeks. The owner had one excuse after another, just stringing me along. Again, I called multiple times, stopping by and leaving hand written notes. To this day, I have not received a phone call from her, nor has she reimbursed me. I filed a claim with my bank. They did a full investigation and in the end, my bank reimbursed me for the unethical/fraudulent business practices at FUN PARTY. I will never shop there again! I felt this was important to share with my community. I will also be posting on Nextdoor and the BBB. Who does something like this? read more

This place is ridiculous!! They are very unprofessional and do not keep their word! I thought maybe after a year and with the pandemic they would be better but nope! I hosted a wedding a year ago at my home and they said they would pick up sunday at 10am well sunday came and went and nothing was picked up! Then I had to call over and over again just to get them to come out WEDNESDAY!!!! This past Saturday I hosted a babyshower we got a back drop and asked to have it set up at 12pm since our event started at 1pm.... well they showed up late and were finishing the set up after 1pm! Then they said they would pick up Sunday ...... we waited around until 330pm and no one showed up, not even a phone call, email, text NOTHING from them! After they claimed they came twice and no one opened the door (which is a lie because my cameras show NO ONE CAME) I had to tell them they had until 4pm Tuesday to pick it up!!!!!!!! Stay away from this business! They are unprofessional and not punctual at all! At this point I rather pay more and get QUALITY service. Customer service is NOT THEIR WAY!!!!!!!! read more

Fun Party - This is not a small back drop took up my entry way! - Party Supplies Near Me - Gilroy, California

After being a customer for 7 years I've decide no more! I went in during the week to rent and pay for renting chairs. My husband went to pickup Saturday and the lady there with an attitude claimed they weren't paid. He calls me and luckily I had saved the receipt from the credit card transaction. So finally she agrees they were paid for. He goes to the back and asks for chairs and the same lady comes out and says they already gave them to you. My husband opened the trunk of the car and says where are they?! Finally he gets them. Never in the 7 years have I been charged for dropping the chairs off a couple days later. And now all of a sudden it's policy and according to them it always has been. Last year we picked chairs up and I didn't make sure to double count them, I trust them. Well they didn't give me the chairs I paid for so when we dropped the chairs off they charged us for one chair missing, that I never got! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Service is decent here. If you are renting chairs and tables make sure to double call them to not drive far out at a time they tell you they'll be ready and getting there and be sent back due to their fault on not having the supplies ready. I've tried giving this place a few chances hoping that they would redeem themselves. This place is a joke no one will return your call you rent something and they don't have it ready. No one takes responsibility for anything I thought the owner would be responsive but that's where the problem lies! Worst experience with customer service. read more

Very clean store. Owner is very kind. Lots of cool party supplies. Very happy we stopped by here!

If you like them BREAKING AMD ENTERING ON YOUR PROPERTY this is the party store for you. Rented a bounce house from this store for Easter. The worker that dropped off the bounce house stated that they would pick it up the next morning. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. We even went to the shop that same day they said they would pick it up at 1pm to see what was up & they were closed. The next WHILE WE WEREN'T HOME, our backyard camera caught them opening our back gate to get their bounce house. No call, no email, to us nothing. They didn't say they were going to come by to get it while we were at work. They just decided to LET THEMSELVES in our backyard to get the bounce house. We went to the shop to file a complain & in their complete ignorance they didn't know what breaking & entering even was! If they don't know basic California laws they shouldn't own a shop. Steer clear of this company! read more

Best place to rent your party supplies. They have the best deals in town and offers a big variety of jump houses. This is probably the best piñata place Ive seen up to now. This rating is for the piñatas only as this is the only product Ive purchased from them. I am a very patient and understanding person. But this was the second time they have been rude! And they showed poor customer service. I ordered a piñata a month in advance and it still was not ready for pick up on the date I wanted it ready! They don't follow up on calls or answer during regular business hours. I was sent to voicemail multiple times! She had told me they opened at 9 in a call then when I wanted to go for pick up at 9 she said they did Not open until 10. Me & my family have always ordered from this place for many years sometimes pintatas only other times we get the whole package but I will no longer let me family or friends order from this place I will let it be know that this is the worst customer service I have ever received from any business. Back in March Before shelter in place my niece was having her birthday so I was getting her a jumper which is $80 I believe so I went ahead and got the package because it is a good deal but the thing I was really getting it was for the jumper. Well fast forward to the day of the party I work morning and get off at 2pm and get a call from my boyfriend telling me they dropped off tables and chairs and no jumper and that the people who dropped the tables off said i had received a call letting me know they were not going to send the jumper which was a lie when I had no missed calls I called them about 20 times and no one answered so I went straight to the store and there was a young girl there and asked why the jumper wasn't sent and she said because there is a chance of rain and while talking to her the phone just keeps ringing and ringing she finally answers one of the calls and it's a lady complains about not getting her jumper and I can hear her talk to the employee telling him well if you want go ahead and leave it but pick it up before it starts raining in Spanish. She gave that customer that option but I didn't. Then I said i want a refund and she said we don't do refunds and it's on the contract. On the contract it says no refunds due to cancellation and she said she would have to talk to the owner and I left my name and number and never got a call and there was still a few days before we went in to SIP. Once stores started to open up after covid I gave it a week never got a call so I went ahead and went in to see if I was going to be given a refund and owner said no because they do no refunds and I explained that I understand your contract says no refunds due to cancellation but I DID NOT CANCEL the business decided to not call they just decided to drop the tables and chairs off and leave someone had to stop the employees to ask for the jumper. Then one of the other relatives of the owner stepped in with her attitude and said she was the one calling everyone that day and that she called and I said no you didn't and I will bring you my call log to prove to you, you didn't and that I called this store 20+ times before showing up and that's when she decides to change her story to maybe she missed me on her list of people to call. Point is they are the worst and I'm just done I ended up getting a credit and I used it this Halloween. When getting my credit I legit didn't even want to go into the business because of how they had treated me the last time so I had my mom go in a reserve the jumper for Halloween well my mom goes in obviously she knows the owner and starts telling the owner about how shocked she was to her about how they had treated me and the owner was acting like she didn't know anything well maybe she had forgotten who knows months had gone by. Well everything was reserved we were good.... we end up switching the location of a party so my mom went in a couple weeks later to switch the address not even saying anything about the situation and the owner begins to say you know I did investigation about the situation you told me and I remember your daughter she came in here aggressive and even her husband was looking at her embarrassed which when my mom got in the car and told me it took me everything in me to not go in there and put her in her place because one it was uncalled for my mom didn't bring up the situation and also I did not go in aggressive i actually had my bf come in with me and he was the one talking to them but when they were saying yes we called and everything he was saying they were basically calling us liars and that's when I stepped in. Just know that over the multiple times I have rented from them they have: Taken the wrong tables Taken extra tables that don't belong to them and never given them back Never brought a jumper Always late to pick up they have picked up jumper once Sunday afternoon and once even Monday ! . read more

Customer service is TERRIBLE! Okay DO NOT rent supplies from here. My bridal shower was this past Sunday and my mom ordered chairs and tables from this place. The party was at 1030am and they said they would be open at 930am. Well my mom went Sunday morning and at 930am they were not open, 950am and nothing. Thankfully our neighbors had chairs and tables we could borrow. Later that morning my mom went back to see if they were there and they were and my mom told them what happened and the lady had the audacity to tell my mom they were open. LIES! My mom went at 930 am with my aunt and uncle as witnesses. Unfortunately we did need more chairs and my mom rented some since she was there, but I really wish she didn't because they don't deserve any of our money and/or business.
