We had the opposite experience and highly recommend the lodge. The manager and her husband were wonderful and very caring. They saw our Expedia reservation come in even with the power out and helped us get setup quickly. We were so grateful to have a cozy warm room with the gas fireplace stove. There was hot water and the room was perfect. When we had delays leaving the next day because of the snow and no car, they let us take the time we needed to figure things out. The manager's husband saved us in the end and gave us a ride to Murphy's so we could be somewhere with electricity (and food). He was so kind to do that and we won't forget. Rented a motor boat from the marina and spent 4 hours fishing at the river inlet. As soon as we dropped our lines, the bites never stopped! Came back with 5 keepers . (Free tip: the dam and the river inlet are the prime boat fishing spots) weather was manageable, light rain/sleet off and on over our 3 days there. The Marina staff, and the front office staff, and Serene Bean coffee stand were absolutely amazing! (Emphasis on all of the Marina Staff, Lori and team) We felt like we found a secret gem in the mountains. Everything is within walking distance of our on-site motel, and the lake was breathtaking. Since we went after Memorial Day it was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you all so much for hosting, we will be back again soon!

Unit is simply kept, but has all that you would need. If there is something additional needed, the staff is very accessible and ready to aid. Don't expect the newest of technology presay, but there is enough to keep the modern day mindset still entertained. There was much to see within short and long distances that would satisfy most visitors. From local mini hikes in the Big Trees forest, to a plethora of vineyards/wineries, spa and shopping...to longer treks to Yosemite and stop at the Sacramento Zoo before flying back home. All in all the R&R that was called for when booking this vacation location was achieved.

The unit was clean and had everything we needed. 2 bedrooms both with King size beds, 3 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and lovely living space with a fire place. The club house has a very nice heated pool and hot tub, along with a sauna and gym. The place had lots of snow in mid march and you can walk to the Sequoia Woods country club restaurant. (also amazing but make reservations). The staff was kind and very helpful. Check in was a breeze and all our questions were answered. They provide games, movies, puzzles and firewood up front. Looking forward to booking another stay in the summer so we can take advantage of all the hiking around the facility.

What an amazing resort tucked up away in the mountains within Tuolumne County…read more I've lived up here most my life , my entire childhood , I never knew this place was here, lol. (they need someone on social media, i would think) But this resort is a gem away from daily routine of the normal daily life and great relax at the pool, nice swim , quick dip, or maybe a little relaxation in the hot tub. from the world as we know it. lol. The pool is the heart of this resort , it really is , but sooo worth it. A nice beautiful waterfall on one side , with a cascading waterfall on the other side. looks all Natural, including the ground, looks like sand, and rock. Its beautiful... The pool has a shallow end but gets deeper fast. Pool has a nice lip that goes to the deep end from the shallow, it's roughly 2-3 feet deep for this ledge / lip. Middle of the pool is roughly 5 foot. Deep end is 8 feet deep. The main building is cool , nice hang out for kids or teenagers. lol. The cabin we were at, evergreen 1a was inside the pool area. Nice if you want to be close to the pool, but I can imagine it being noisy in peak season, just FYI. The cabin was nice, a little smaller than I thought but not bad. Totally worth the stay , 1 king size bed, bathroom / shower, small kitchen / Sink, mini fridge, cabinets / already has a few plates as well drink ware... maybe next time I will upgrade to the next cabin? Who knows, nice to have extra space if staying a few days or more. This place is worth the stay, if you like pools / spas , nice views, staying within the mountains and wilderness, but not camping, away from the crowds and lots of people ( that being said I have no idea how full this place gets in peek season. ) You are also within driving distance to Pinecrest, SOnora, and Columbia State Park. The resort is on side of the mountains if im remember right, so you have a small glimpse of whats through the trees, so if you are looking for a view of a lake, or mountain side / Canyon view, you wont find it here, that being said the view is still nice, specially in spring. But I do have to say the stars are amazing at night... Nature is flat out amazing , It was nice to sit out front of our cabin, drinking coffee, and watching the sun come up through the trees, little light rays dancing through the trees... I really liked Our stay here, the pool IS AMAZING, Seemed well kept up, clear water/ no junk in the water or leaves... The cabin was decent, little Rustic feel, which is pretty cool. But did have its issues. SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAD ----- Few things that needed to be fixed in the cabin, bathroom door wouldnt shut, stays open 2 to 3 inchs... lol Tv had issues connecting, or some error with the box, idk, and remote had dead batteries, tv wouldnt turn on, then replaced the batteries = tv turned on, but cable box or something had issues so couldnt really watch much, just a few channels, ( took batteries out of a gaming controller i had packed away in my bag, thus the batteries, lol ) I do feel like its Lacking something, and could have ALOT MORE potential. -- I think it would also have been nice to have some of the following, -- * Place seems a little dead, where are the staff? the office was evenm unstaffed , just had a sign list of names, and cabins, and a Map. Yoiu look for your name, and theres your cabin and your all set for your stay! ;-) The bar at the pool was unstaffed as well. * Maybe towels by the pool, not sure if its a resort, make it feel like a 5 star resort, in the mountains , so how cool is that, but again kinda lacking... * Maybe some social media, I feel like thats lacking as well... discounts in off season?? would be nice, ;-) * Staff the office on weekends? (not sure if its staffed on super busy holidays, or summer?) They do have a number to contact someone , or the host of the property, no idea never called it, I like face to face communication better. * I think the place needs a slight uplift, some repairs, maybe few added things, ALL AND ALL, I would love to give this a 5 star review, but it just doesnt have that resort feel, or anything really going on from my experience that tells me this is a resort, (on the +plus+ side of things) it really is + Pool is EPIC + beautiful area, + great rock work with the pool, and surrounding area, + hanging lights to set a nice mood to things, + - A place for live music / band, but its empty on a spring weekend, so is the bar at the pool.. - No working bar, no drinks **** A resort is alot more then just a pool, its an experience, its all about the guests, drinks, foods, music... Again i am not here on a HUGE busy weekend, so it might be different for other people coming on in mid summer vs Mid MAy! However, i think if they are open they still should be staffed some, and have a few things going on...

Heather truly went above and beyond to make our stay special, doing so many thoughtful things that she didn't have to. She was incredibly kind and even built us a cozy fire so we could enjoy making s'mores in the evening. The lodge is extremely dog-friendly, which was perfect for us. They even have a secure, gated potty area where dogs can safely be off leash. Our husky had the best time playing with Bear, who is one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met. Bear got along wonderfully with our dog and was friendly with every person and dog we saw. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a welcoming, relaxing, and dog-friendly place to stay in Arnold, Meadowmont Lodge is the perfect choice. We'll definitely be back!

We don't even drive five and a half hours to visit some relatives. We found it by accident a few years ago on an anniversary trip and liked it so much that we came all the way back just to stay here again. I love this place because it still has that classic 1960s roadside motor lodge feel. Not the "I hope the plumbing works" kind. More like, "This is what a motor lodge would look like if somebody loved it for the last 60 years." Everything is immaculate. The rooms are spotless, the landscaping looks like every blade of grass had a performance review, and they've got a fire pit and cornhole out back. Which is a game I've played for years and still can't believe that's the name everyone agreed on. The people here are just... nice. And not "hotel nice." Actually nice. We know because, on the way up, we hit a deer. That's not part of the amenities, by the way. Suddenly we're wondering if our car is going to be in the shop for days, and the staff immediately started helping us figure out how to extend our stay if we got stranded. They didn't have to do any of that. They just genuinely wanted to help take one more thing off our plate during a pretty stressful day. Thankfully, we made it home, but that little gesture is the kind of thing you remember. There are plenty of hotels where you sleep. This is one where you feel welcome. My wife and I can't wait to come back. Hopefully next time we'll leave the local wildlife out of the itinerary.

Check-in was easy and personable, with accommodations for communal fridge, microwave and toaster... there was always access to coffee and tea and hot cocoa! Next to the hotel there is a restaurant open on Thursdays to Sundays, right out on your right is an authentic Mexican restaurant and on your left is an amazing breakfast coffee shop!! I can't say enough wonderful things about the house, it is set up and decorated with such love and charm! We felt right at home; the kitchen was fully stocked, with lots of games, puzzles, movies to keep us entertained. Our two kids loved having their own bathroom and beds, which helped to keep sibling fighting to a minimum. The resort neighborhood is so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful, and each of the homes are so beautiful and well-maintained! We spent every day at the pool, which was 3 minutes away on foot. My husband and I also loved having access to the fitness center. The location also made it easy to take fun day trips to Yosemite, Murphys, Senora, and Arnold. We can't wait to go back to the Bret Harte Cottage, we've already recommended it to all of our friends!

I am extremely disappointed as this is a gigantic college football playoff weekend. Thankfully another friends cottage has ESPN. I didn't even think you could get a basic cable package without ESPN anymore.....
