Really enjoyed my time trying out fun beer king. We were there for an event, and tried a variety of dishes. The most unique is the pastty dough pizza, which was like a pizza on puff pastry with powdered sugar. I thought the combination was very unique and I liked it. Not as filling as a normal pizza, and no tomato sauce. The shrimp was quite plump. The garlic honey fried chicken bites was excellently fried, with shallots which really kicked up the flavor. And the Fried squid was huge on the Tukbokee and I really liked the flavor. Dessert was bin su, which had oranges, must be seasonal, I didn't like it too much as it tasted like 90s style frozen sorbet. (Yeah some things need to stay in the 90s). The staff was really friendly and helpful. I thought the kpop playing on a big screen was cool. Good to have all these big portions shared amongst friends. All the dishes are excellent with cold beer and they have good choices.

This place is so great that we already started planning to come back while we were still there! They have great specials and the food was so good! Firstly, the vibes as you walk in, just gives you local mom and pops bar in Asia. It's a chill decor with some bench seats and a projector that plays Kpop! Second, the drink specials were great. We went on a Wednesday night and they had half off soju! Just know, their US Instagram notes it's only half-off Sunday through Thursday, so we came at a good time! Third, the food was so good! Honestly, that's an understatement, the food was immaculate! We got two different sets of Korean fried chicken and other food. Make sure to do a family style type of order because for the time we were there, the amount of food we all shared, and the drinks? Totally worth it and affordable! Also, the servers were really chill and answered our questions. Definitely a great 5/5 experience!

Tried this Gastro pub, and it's pretty decent. Service was prompt even though it was one waitress on a Monday night servicing 5 tables. Ambiance, it's not packed like the spot accross the street, and parking is much easier as you can park around the side of the strip mall near the hotel. Fried chicken does contain peanut powder. This is pretty common with Korean fried chicken... whether it has some peanut oil or powder.

I went to Fun Beer King for the first time back in November. The interior was chill and pretty small compared to the other Korean pubs. When we got seated, they served "ramyunttang" as a complimentary, which was tasty and nostalgic. My friends and I tried the half shrimp & bulgogi pastry pizza, honey garlic boneless ($25.99), and spicy fish cake soup ($24.99). I loved the slight kick that the spicy fish cake soup gave. It was perfect on a chilly day. I like my bone-in chicken, but the boneless chicken was pretty solid. For the pizza, surprisingly, I loved the flaky texture of the pizza crust. It exceeded my expectations. Nothing really called my name on the menu at first, but I'm excited to go back and try other items on the menu. It's a place with a fun and modern twist to Korean pub food!

So good! I'll be back with another group so you know it's a good hangout spot. Food is delicious and there's so many new things I want to try. The service is great they go above and beyond to accommodate your group. Definitely a party spot.

New Korean gastropub in the north suburbs! Went on a weekday so we didn't have to wait at all but I can see this place being busy on Fridays and the weekends especially with the alcohol being so cheap! Food wise: we got the fire chicken with cheese fondue and two of the Korean style pizzas. The fire chicken was pretty spicy but matched really well with the cheese fondue. The shrimp and bulgogi pizzas were really good and I thought it was innovative they used puff pastries for the crust!! It was just slightly sweet for my taste though Alcohol: we both tried probably every highball on the menu. The Jim beam highball is not very sweet and has a lemon flavor that is exactly what I want in a highball. Wish it was closer to the city but will definitely be coming back!

The place is small, but the food was great. I tried the whole squid spicy soup, and the squid was tasty. The beef kimchi soup tasted great too. We ordered a half-and-half pizza, which had a light and fluffy crust. We ordered the beer tower and paid an extra $4 for the Blue Moon. The service was a little slow. Overall, it was great, and I would go back.

Our group shared the following: popcorn chicken, stir-fried chicken gizzards, fried eggs with Spam, corn cheese, truffle French fries, seafood pancake, bossam (pork belly, shrimp paste, lettuce wrap), rose tteokbokki, steamed egg souffle with cheese, spam and kimchi fried rice, station noodles (beef broth, veggies), and strawberry bingsoo. My favorite of the night was the rose tteokbokki. The tteokbokki was perfectly chewy and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. The popcorn chicken was also good and paired well with the sauce it came with. The bossam was on the dry side and the seafood pancake was pretty standard. The fries were good but wouldn't pay $10 for a basket of fries if we came back next time. The corn cheese was also good but the plate was small. There was a call button at each table which was convenient. Food came out individually as it was ready instead of all at once which was to be expected for our party size.

The redecorating and ambience was modern and sleek, with fully operational and clean water features. Grills were gas-operated, one grills there own meat items here. I really liked the natural-stone mini-subway style tiles on the walls. Like a lot of Korean places I have seen, the seats had minimal padding. I think this would be a great place for a date if you're in the area, a prize in an unassuming strip mall anchored by an auto parts store. Food was great, they happily and generously provided more banchan and also gave us complimentary bowls of soy paste soup that was practically jumping out of the bowl. As civilised as I tried to be, using my chopsticks and the cooking tongs correctly, I still felt like I completely stuffed my face like at a trough '^_^ it was all so good. Maybe to accommodate the neighborhood, the banchan was not nearly as spicy as we expected, so that might be great for someone trying Korean for the first time. Some might balk at the prices of some items, such as $24.99 for 1/2lb of raw meat, but we had a very enjoyable time and hope to come again.

However, the price was a bit much for this I'd say. Beef tartar: 3 of 5 As there was nothing to special to it. Wouldn't get it a second time. I'd say the trip was disappointing for our party of 5 and what we got didn't match the quality of other gopchang restaurants in LA. For me who did not eat intestines I'd say it's a 3 of 5 place, but I'd say the value for the intestines based on what my party ate was more of a 2 of 5 as it was mostly grease that overwhelmed everything with no meaningful way to reduce it. Service was a good 4 of 5, but not as attentive at times.

Like another reviewer mentioned, this was cooked and prepared (Mongolian style) in the kitchen. It came out on a sizzling skillet. It tasted delicious. The meat was really tender and juicy, but there were a couple of pieces with bone-in which I didn't really care for. I thought the side-dishes were really good. I completely finished the kimchi and pickled cucumbers. So good. I almost forgot about the miso soup. It was pretty standard (which is good) and hit the spot on a wintery day. Unexpectedly, for dessert, the server brought out a Haagan Daas ice-cream bar lol. I wasn't sure if this was normal or if it was just because I'm handsome? (found out later they do this for everyone... lol). I didn't really have room b/c I was full from the main dish and sides but ate it anyways (why not?). Overall I had a delicious meal. I can't remember the pricing off the top of my head, but I would say that it's reasonably priced. Oh, they also serve alcohol here too so if your looking for a spot for a group of people, that is an option. I personally had a large Cass to wash down my meal. Daebak!
