Worst customer service in the world!!! The worker screwed up with the tickets we bought told us to ride in single carts when we bought double then chased us down in the parking lot to pay for another ticket and even had the sherrif involved as though we were criminals !!! When the worker is the one who told us what to do and screwed up!!! Horrible manager and horrible customer service !!! Unbelievable!!! Bottom Line: Two tracks that are both family friendly. Full Throttle is a family friendly go karting facility with two tracks. One track is a figure 8 track while the other is a Slick Oval track with sharper turns. Both tracks are easy to navigate and the pit crew is able to electronically slow the cars if someone spins out or has an issue with their car. The adult price to race is about $10 for 4 to 5 minutes to do (10?) laps on the track. To drive your own car you must be 4 feet, 2 inches tall. But kids as young as two can ride with another adult. (Yikes!) The only prior go karting experience I've had was at K-1 Speed but this is much different - the courses are easy, the cars are slower and helmets aren't required. In other words, this is a family friendly racing spot. At times I felt bored on the track but it was fun to see the video that my Mom took and compare experiences with my family afterwards. In addition to two tracks, they also have a concession stand with soft serve ice cream, shaved ice, etc. There is plenty of parking in the large lot. read more

Sorry, but I highly don't recommend this place with a top speed of 18? but didn't feel like it at all. It was empty when I got there, waited for some people and paid 10$ for about 4-5 rounds. Mini golf with go carts are your better choice. read more

I took my daughter. We had a blast. It wasn't particularly busy, so there was really no line, and really no wait. After a group of about three we had the track to ourselves and went back for more. When we got to the track, we waited for another group of three to finish their race and had the track to ourselves again. She had a blast, and the attendants there were very forgiving of her nearly killing them as she finished the race. Nice way to break up a week at the beach. read more

FIRST: please note that there are TWO raceways within 0.5 miles of each other. This one is Full Throttle Speedway, the other is Nags Head Raceway. For some reason, Yelp users have been adding reviews for this business to the NHR page. I had to create this business to give it its due. Full Throttle is the business that's further north; both are on the right side of the highway when headed south. Now, for the business itself... there are two tracks, a slick track (no one seemed to care about it!) and a figure-eight track (which was popular when we went but not busy enough to wait in lines... perfect!). Employees were friendly, prices were $9.50 per race, and the equipment all functioned correctly. This business allows kids (of certain height; 56 inches? 50? I forget) to race in the same races as their parents. There are special cars for the kids so their feet can reach the pedals, but everyone's cars go about the same speed. Personally, I prefer a figure-eight layout for Go Karts, so I enjoyed this. The fact that you can race your own kid here (something that can't be done hat Nags Head Raceway) is a nice bonus. Overall -- speaking about the figure-eight track only, not the slick track, there are three kinds of cars here: - Single adult car - Single child (height restriction of course) car - Adult-with-child-passenger car What's nice is that all these cars compete against each other. The day we went it was crowded. At 15-17 cars on the track the wait time was 5-10 minutes. With a full track of cars, this was an amazingly good time. I went with my 14 and 12 year old sons. We went twice. $10 per trip is a bit much. Owners should rethink their price point. AND with it being crowded the races were just a ton of fun-no other way to say it. Had there been 5 cars racing the experience would have been different. At $10 per trip people show up race once and leave. The races aren't long. Some way to tie the freeway to the next door golf course is absolutely needed. Though we went next door to mutiny bay golf after our racing as did many others. The location needs other things to do. People travel out and after their race would do additional things if on property. Price point and just racing on property are negatives, but potential for a lot of fun. read more

We were there tonight and an associate yelled at my kid because he misunderstood the parking instructions. He then dropped the f bomb and complained loudly about my kid to his coworker. I told him he was being inappropriate and asked for his name which he refused to provide. I went to speak to a manager who did not care or offer an apology. I said "so it's okay for your employees to drop the f bomb at kids for misunderstanding?" And he replied "my employees are allowed to speak how they want." read more

Great time decent go carts with 2 tracks .. was able to let my 8 year old son drive by himself as he was 51 inches .. finished it of with some ice cream . Will be back again read more

RIP OFF! During the ride they stopped the cars multiple times a lap and no one was really bumping. Therefore, all the cars just slowly rode around the track waste of $10. read more

I wouldn't give this place a star! This was the worst experience I've ever had with go karts! They slowed us down and speed us up with some kid of remote! Full throttle, lol, waste of money! I could have had more fun at putt putt! And I hate putt putt! read more

Don't waste your money. $10 for 4 minutes of racing. It was fun enough but not worth the cost.

We did the figure-eight track and it was fun. No one rides their slick track that we could see. The figure-eight track allowed kids of a reasonable size to ride along with the adults. There are also cars that have adults with their kids. read more
