I received a groupon for a massage as a birthday gift. I spent more than 5 weeks trying to schedule with the company because they will not communicate using any platform but facebook messenger. When I first sent an appointment request, I got a computer-generated response asking for more information, which I provided.
After several days and no response from the company, I called them and left a message. I still heard nothing.
So, I went back to facebook, and sent a message to follow-up... and received the same computer generated response. I tried calling them again, but the mailbox was full, so I could not leave a message.
I sent a new facebook message letting them know that I was having a frustrating scheduling experience, and I would like them to confirm my appointment. I *finally* got a response telling me that the date I requested was full. I asked when the next available date was, and it took them 3 days to respond to my message.
After several more days of back and forth messenging, I finally got a facebook message saying "Congratulations! You've booked an appointment!" (Because, apparently, this is a rare phenomenon for anyone to actually get through their service wall.) However, the computer-generated message congratulating me for booking also requested that I pay my booking fee online or my appointment would be cancelled.
So, now I am started to think that there is a scam going on. This company found a way to sell groupons and then ask people for booking fees for a service that is never provided. The poor communication and non-existent customer service contributed heavily to my misgivings.
Still, I was committed to getting a massage, so I looked at the instructions for paying the booking fee online. They preferred that I use a variety of apps that I didn't have access to, but they offered an option to pay online by emailing them to request a link. I did this... and got no response. For 5 days. I called them, and was confronted with a full vm box once again.
Back to facebook messenger. I wrote a message explaining that I never received a response to my email requesting the link to pay online...
AND I GOT THE SAME COMPUTER GENERATED MESSAGE ONCE AGAIN. (Seriously, WTH?)
So I'm basically pulling out my hair now. My appointment is supposed to be the next day, but it will be canceled if I don't pay the booking fee, which they are not giving me an opportunity to pay. So in frustration, I call them again. AND THE VOICE MAIL BOX IS FULL.
So I sent a few more facebook messages, convinced that there is definitely a crazy groupon scam going on, and that only robots will ever receive my messages anyway, when lo and behold, a human types into the chat pane: I will refer you to the manager.
A few moments later, I get a phone call from the business owner, who refused to listen to my complaint about my experience, insisted that her company offers an impeccable customer service experience, and, after I choked on my coffee, told me that I should seek a refund because they would be cancelling my appointment.
So, after all this, no massage. I see there is one other review, so perhaps this company is legit and not just a groupon scam. However, they are in serious need of some customer service support, and perhaps some anger management training.
It's completely reasonable for a customer to want timely responses to inquiries. This is capitalism, after all, and there are lots of places to choose from if you want a massage. I recommend that you look elsewhere. read more
