Just opened! We had great experience both visits because of the yummy food, but mostly because of the attentive and friendly service. I love a restaurant where the manager owner is actively working the room and checking on how things are going and making adjustments. It really shows in the great quality of food and service. I can't wait to try everything on the menu at least once. Their bakery and bread program is excellent. Cocktails are at happy hour prices all day! Portions are generous and great for sharing. We went to Full Belly yesterday. I'll tell you what, our waitress was stoned or something. The food at this location wasn't very good. We had the chicken fried steak breakfast and the eggs benedict with the artichoke and spinach. We also had the cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was big and the frosting was wonderful, but it was dry. The eggs were cooked great on the cfs plate, but the cfs had no seasoning what so ever. We added s&p, but that didn't help much. You have to season all the layers of cfs. The potatoes were way to salty. I told the waitress to please tell the cook to make sure my eggs benedict were cooked to a medium. That means white cooked, yolk runny. They were over hard and dry. Those potatoes were also way to salty also. Using fresh instead of frozen spinach would have been better. We did ask our waitress if they do a dessert for a birthday and she said yes, the cinnamon roll. Anyway, we still got charged for it. She stood there while I was cashing out (with cash) on her computer. She asked me if i wanted change. I actually told her to go away because she was hoovering. We paid and left a 20% tip. I have to share this. I have been very excited to try this place. We got there and there was like just 5 other tables so not too busy. I ordered orange juice, and my sister ordered coffee. When we got it the coffee was cold and my juice tasted spoiled. So we kindly let the server know. To easy. We put our order in. Green eggs and ham. Waited 40 minutes for it to come out. Not even worried about it. When it comes out though it's cold. We go to tell our server and she puts her hand in the food and squeezes it and say "yep" and walks away to the kitchen. Great potential but not quite on the mark. Lovely decor, clean and very pleasant staff. Recipes are creative but all 3 things we ordered could stand some tweaking for our taste. Barbacoa is already a fatty meat full of flavor but they stuff the peppers, add a swirl of delicious creamy aioli and then overkill the whole thing by putting the chimichurri on top...great flavors but too oily. Perhaps serve it on a crostini so that the dish is not so oily. The roasted pineapple and Brie had a nice flavor and heat but the sourdough was described as bruschetta and the bread was not grilled/toasted. Would have been great to serve disassembled to get a better texture profile. The bacon on top was overcooked. The filling for the Swedish blueberry pancakes was lovely but the crepe style pancakes were cold. Perhaps include that in the description since most Americans expect any type of pancake to be warm. My wife and I just left the restaurant with my in-laws. This was our first time coming and we will probably not be back. The service was VERY SLOW. The bartender was overwhelmed, as was the kitchen. My father in law had to send back his hot chocolate because it was cold, then my mother Lin law had to send back her patty melt because hers was also cold. My wife's food was the only plate that was hot. Our waitress was nice but never came to really check on us and we had to constantly call for her when we needed something. To top it off, we drank out of plastic cups. Not sure if they read out of glass cups? But we were drinking out of clear solo cups. Food is good, but not worth the wait and the slow service. So, if you are looking for a place to wait an hour before you get your food, this is the place. I don't recommend. From the moment I came in the vibe is well, good. Very clean and minimal kitch this spot encourages you to talk to your dining companion. I was immediately greeted by the super friendly hostess with a smile and charm inher voice. She seated me and I realized so many drink options from wines, to coffees to even regular fare. Full Belly is a nice little hidden gem. It's new but I definitely see its potential. We've been twice and have not need disappointed. The food is fresh, the drinks are a must try and price point has been great! The service both times has been amazing! The first time the owner assisted us but the second time we saw him with his new servers. I'm excited they are growing! The ambiance so has been peaceful! No complaints here. It's been steady the times we've been so enjoying it before it gets busy but looking forward to it being a hit! They mostly provide breakfast items but have started doing dinner service on Fridays and Saturdays and you will not be disappointed! Didn't take pictures because my little one had my phone. The biscuits and gravy were very bland and the sausage was so dry. Even the gravy couldn't salvage it. The don Quixote did not seem all like the description made it out to be took a few bites and could not even eat the rest. It was very messy and it's sausage chorizo not crumbled Mexican chorizo. Cinnamon roll was massive and tasty, but not super rich. The hippo dish we split, and was the only good thing on the menu. First of all, our waitress was lovely and excellent and did the best she could with what seemed like little support. It took 30-45 minutes to receive our food, baked eggs dish was overcooked but edible, cinnamon roll was very good. Drip coffee was really great. My issue really stems from a true lack of management here. When walking in there was frequently 5 or more parties waiting at the check in desk, often waiting 15-20 minutes in this line only to be turned away because they were not seating walk ins. There is NO REASON they could not have had a sign posted or better communicated this and likely lost future customers due to the inconsiderate approach. With the slow service and lack of organization I'm not sure I will be back, but hope they get it together. read more

For the chorizo hash, the potatoes were in large chunks (home fries instead of hash) and some were overcooked and hard. We went early (9am on a Friday) and were seated right away. We loved our choices off the menu-- as a vegetarian the options are limited but what I had was more than enough to make me happy! The "magic mushroom eggs" are baked French style in a creamy sauce which is rich, flavorful, and super filling. My friend got a similar dish which was recommended by the waitress "pink hippo eggs". We ate every last drop! So good and such a unique menu item here in San Antonio! The cinnamon roll really is giant just like it says on the menu, and very tasty! The ambiance feels a little stale and cafeteria like, which doesn't really match the menu. But the food makes it worth it. As a side note--they were under staffed when we went and our waitress had 6 or 7 tables to herself, so naturally as anyone would, she kept forgetting things. We had to ask for coffee, hot sauce, and utensils multiple times. Hopefully they can get that aspect sorted out so the staff aren't so overwhelmed. read more

This place has a lot of different types of food. I tried the Patty Melt and my dining companion ordered the Lobster Benny. The Patty Melt was good, except for the bread. It was thick and grilled and very hard, to the point it left abrasions on the roof of my mouth. But the rest of the sandwich was really good. The meat was cooked well and the Aioli and other ingredients went great in the sandwich. My friend wasn't impressed with the Lobster Benny, she said the taste of eggs and lobster did not go well together and didn't eat much of her meal. The service was subpar. Our server didn't come around much and never refilled my water. There was only about 28 people in the place, so they weren't busy. The door hostess finally came by and filled my drink. We were looking for an American breakfast of a brunch and breakfast class. Maybe it's not totally plain American but it's fancy and upscale. The parking is a little tight but large enough. Just probably don't drive your big F350 or limousine here because the space to back up can be tight. I'm not a fancy person but the courtesy and kindness extended by staff was amazing. Just respectful kindness that one might expect from anyone willing to obtain more business. It's fancy to where you can bring a date or mature family to and not break the bank. It's not cheap but reasonable for what you do get. Now on to the flavor. That brought them down a couple stars. Which is messed up because that's the whole point of a restaurant is the food. But perhaps it is better to eat here so that any mistakes can be addressed at the time and not after when the food is already at home. Please be AWARE that baked eggs is still apparently a lot like poached eggs which is not good for the egg allergy people who can eat eggs only if the yolks are done. The baked eggs is like a SOUP. It tastes pretty good on the flavor but very weird. Hence not sure which cultures have egg soup but it was a good try. Perhaps if seeking a more traditional approach we should have went with the basic breakfast. And a las for a take home take on the pancakes. They looked beautiful until you flip them over. The pancake bottoms were burnt. Not a horrible thing if you're eating in this nice atmosphere but horrible if you already have them at home. So my take is best to eat here because the ambience and friendliness is awesome but just be aware of what you are ordering and make sure it is what you want. read more

Well my belly isn't full and I am incredibly disappointed. The location and environment upon entry were positive. The vibe was hip and the bar area was large and trendy. You can watch the kitchen work which was fun until you realized there wasn't enough help and the prep work was a little sketchy and disorganized. This trickled down to the waitstaff. They were arguing openly and creating tension between not just each other but the customers. It was uncomfortable. Then... the food. Nope. All three dishes were left half eaten. The menu is small which I often find as a positive (they can perfect their provisions). I can't even describe why it was bad - it was just bad. We waited for a host for about 10 minutes. No idea where she was. When she came back she looked lost and confused. She sat us with menus but no silverware at all. I had their iced horchata oatmilk latte and it was to die for! To start i got the roasted pineapple and brie bruschette. It was savory, sweet and a little bit spicy. Presentation was gorgeous! For my meal i ate the Fill My Belly BLT and it was simple but classic. Bread was perfectly toasted and they put lots of bacon! It came with a side of fries which were perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice. Service was fantastic. I had everything i needed and didn't have to ask for anything. I will be back here again. I wish we could give half stars I would give this place 3 1/2 stars. The service was great. Everyone was really friendly. We ordered an espresso martini and it was more like an espresso shot. There was nothing martini about it. It wasn't that great the basic breakfast I don't suggest it. It's nothing special. The bacon was very fuzzy. I sent it back to have them cook it more. It still came back flimsy so that was a little disappointing, the burger was excellent. Very good Benedict. The avocado sauce was really good as well. It's not a bad place.
