This was one of the absolute worst bars I have ever been to. I went with 2 friends and our experience started out great, but ended horribly. There was a really nice bartender, Frankie, who was serving us and he was fantastic. He was nice and personable and his service was great. There was another bartender who was sitting at the bar, drinking, that was the rudest person I've ever met. He wanted the seat that I was sitting in to use for himself, so he started yelling at us and got behind the bar, claiming he was the manager, and he threw 2 drinks in my friend's face. It was the most unprofessional and ludicrous thing I've ever seen in my life. The other bartenders kept apologizing on his behalf and it seemed like they were used to him acting crazy like that. I've never seen someone so unhinged in my life. I really hope the owner does something about the guy working there because I would hate for anyone else to have this experience in the future. I'm still shocked about how we were treated when we didn't even do anything or yell back at him the whole time. It's not okay to treat anybody like that, especially paying customers. read more

Sting drinks and great atmosphere! Their drinks are also not expensive for the amount of alcohol you get. They don't sell food, but they do have popcorn. I love that they actually don't mind you bringing food in to eat. Bartenders are always friendly and the bathrooms are always clean. The have a pool room which is cool. They also have TVs that show music videos. Depending on which night you come determines what type of music may be played. Overall a nice secret hideaway. read more

Updated review: It's still my favorite gay bar in Buffalo as it remains the classiest, by far, with some of the friendliest bartenders. Pool table, dart board, small sidewalk patio and good/inexpensive martinis ... all positive attributes. But the time has come for me to knock off a couple stars. I'm so tired of gay bars having the absolute worst beer selection. I know the boys tend to like their mixed drinks and martinis (as do I, on some evenings). But Buffalo is a beer drinking town - we love good craft beer. For the love of pete, please get a wider variety of beer beyond Labatt and Mich Ultra. And one tap of Sam Adams isn't going to cut it either. I really like this bar for the drinks and decor. And that's where my good review stops. I have to agree with another reviewer. The clientele in there seems cliquey from my observation after visiting Fugazi several times. It's hard for "outsiders" to converse with people that are standing in circles or half circles against the bar and in corners. I literally have had people's backs towards me at the bar. Should we install a wall too? A gay bar should be a welcoming space and refuge from a discriminating world for LGBTQ people. Sadly LGBTQ people aren't nice to each other. Maybe the morbidly obese bartender was having a rough night, but he was incredibly rude and bitchy to us right as we walked in. Asked what he recommended and he gave a very sarcastic and rude response. When we apologized and tried to order he interrupted us by demanding our ids and made an ugly face looking at our ids. Blown away at this kind of behavior. Went to this bar on many other occasions and made friends, spoke with guests, and had a much nicer and chatty bartender. Fugazi is one classy establishment! The tasteful wood paneling, flattering lighting, TVs playing Kylie Minogue videos, and great bartenders! Not to mention of course an overwhelming number of hot men that are just as happy to bop around to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" as I am! Echoing many others, Fugazi is the classiest of all the gay bars in Buffalo. It's pretty much the only one I enjoy frequenting in fact. The have really cheap specials on what they call "Thrifty Thursday", including $1.50 domestic bottles, $1.50 well drinks, and $3 cosmos -- wouldn't be a gay bar without the cosmos and martinis! Their drinks are well priced in general though! My boyfriend and I spent a Friday evening there, and had 3 drinks each and they all rounded out to be a meager $4/drink even with the decent liquors (Jack Daniels, Three Olives, etc.) The bartenders are friendly and attentive. They even have free popcorn! We happened to unintentionally be in there during bear night last night, and they had lots of snacks (including some very kitsch gummy bears). The bar boasts a rotating menu of different martinis that seem reasonably priced ($6 I believe) and sound delicious! I haven't tried any, but some of the other patrons informed me that they were very tasty (I was already a few drinks in by that point, and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to order a martini). Lastly, the music is awesome. They seem to enjoy playing music videos from the mid-late 80s and 90s on the TVs -- and there are no complaints from me about that! read more

I love to visit Fugazi! As far as bars go it's a casual setting with music and friendly people, and it's a good place to meet friends after work and have a drink. Fugazi offers specials through the week and themes through the week to cater to different people. We make it a point to visit every Thursday night because the cosmos are only three dollars. Miss Rose and Mike are my two favorite bartenders; they make a perfect drink... maybe sometimes I'm the strong side but there's no complaints coming from me about that. For me personally I know it's a good way to get a little buzz, and I don't have to spend a fortune at only three dollars a drink If you're new or have never been you should have a nice martini. The menu is extensive and can be a little frightening at first glance but the drinks are always interesting. Some of my personal favorites are the oatmeal cookie and pistachio martinis! On recommendation from my friend Vanessa you should order the Peach Fuzz. If you're curious the martini menu is two pages long. You're guaranteed to find something you like or want to try so be adventurous! It's a nice place with fun music and lots of TV's to watch the music videos. Sometimes the music can be a little loud, but it's a bar so I have no complaints about that. There's a nice long bar you can sit at with friends where the TV's line the walls. Fugazi is a quant little bar tucked away near the corner of Allen and Franklin. The place is small but there is enough room to spread out and enjoy your friends. There are two rooms. The main room and bar, which consists of a full bar and a few tables. The second room, to the right holds a pool table for those who enjoy it and a few tables and chairs for those who don't. They also have a dart machine which I don't think I've even seen anybody use. They also have a nice patio for use during the warmer months! Long story short. Looking for a classy gay bar? Where the bartenders are great? The drink are good? The crowd is fun? And the music brings you back to your teenage days? This is your place with out a doubt! Awesome cocktails/martinis, great specials, friendly and quick staff, clean and upscale atmosphere. Love the wood (no pun intended). My only complaint is the music selection is hit or miss (a little too top 40/diva pop heavy, with Glee videos thrown in, but some decent stuff comes in now and again). It's a much more adult and laid back atmosphere than some of the other gay bars in town, with little to no drama. Darts and pool available. I really miss the super sweet shot boy that used to work here with the mohawk - he was the nicest dude in rainbow panties (no pun again, he really wore only rainbow panties) I've ever spoken to. The only person that talked to me the whole night was a nice woman named Adrien. Five ugly queens with dark hair and facial hair that looked like the Osmond brothers sat down at the end of the bar by the restroom ripping people apart. They began this by complaining that two nice looking guys who were acquaintances were coming through the door to visit them. You five guys are as ugly on the inside as you are on the outside.
